Just got back from the Philippines. I got my “Affidavit in Lieu of Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage” from the Embassy. We applied for our marriage license and it will be ready on June 5. I am going back on June 8 and we are planning a civil wedding on June 11.  After we get the Government Certified Marriage Certificate I will file our CR-1 and start the long wait...again.

Well, you're still gonna get married. I wish things had gone well for you guys with the K1 visa process, but you're still going to be together. Kudos for sticking with it.

I have officially changed my name! Mark and I are over the moon. We started the paperwork for AoS and will hopefully send it off within the next two weeks! I can't believe we are finally to this point of the process.

Mark and I got married in Louisville on April 14th. My family from Alabama traveled up, along with my best friend who is from central FL. My childhood pastor officiated the wedding. It was small and simple. Just like we wanted.

I still check in daily on you all. <3

I spoke to Rose. We are getting married there in July. I think she and the kids are happy but I still get “whatever you think is best” answer.  Sometimes I wish filipinas weren’t so submissive! Lol

I know what you mean. My Helen tells me "whatever you want" so often. I was so not used to that level of....I don't know what to call it. From my ex it would have been sarcastic, and a trap. It took me a while to realize that she really was saying whatever I want, and she meant it. I don't wish the same thing, I love it. I wish you guys the best and nothing but success from here out.

Hello everyone ,  i have a question about Affidavit of Support ,  in question 10  asking USCIS Online Account Number  (if any) ?

What do i put for for this question ? Thanks everyone in advance !

Not an expert, just another June filer here, if I'm looking at the same form, then it's asking for the USCIS online account number, if you have one. You can register for an in-line account with USCIS and I believe that's the account number they're asking for. If you didn't register for the on-line account, and don't have that account number, leave it blank. Again, I'm not an immigration attorney, just another filer, and that's just what I think. To be sure you should ask someone that legal expertise in this area.

  6. I have called the nvc a couple of times. Both times they said it takes 6 weeks for them to receive stuff from the ucsis. I wonder if they know about the U.S. mail? A old guy with a limp could walk it there and hand-deliver it in less than 6 weeks. Back in the 1800's the Pony Express would take mail across the entire continent in just a few days, on a horse. But......it is what it is. We will all get our stuff approved. It's just a question of whether or not we go crazy waiting.

If something was wrong with a certain case, they should let the filers know about it right away. Instead, they make people wait and wait and wait which doesn't make sense.

I'd say, if you haven't already, call them again, get names, after they tell you the same thing they did before, ask to speak to their supervisor. Don't be mean, the person on the phone is not the one causing you a problem, they are just telling you what they see in your case. They will ask if you want to speak with their supervisor or with an immigration agent. Say immigration agent. When you talk to them, get their name too. They will tell you if they see any problems with your case and if not it's still pending. If you don't already have an active inquiry and they ask if you want them to submit one, tell them yes and get the reference number. Then call and e-mail both of your senators and your congressman and tell them what's going on and include the names of the people you talked to and the inquiry reference number. They will send you a couple of forms you'll need to fill out. Now.....if you've already done that, I have no other suggestions other than pray for it to be approved soon, as well as for you to maintain your sanity. I know the wait is maddening.

Just keep on calling. Don’t give up. Once they answer and ask more questions than just your wac number you’ll know they have a case number for you. It took 9 days for us to get ours!

I called every day in the evening except for the weekend.

Really?! 9 days? That sure would be nice. He did also say call back every week, so i'm a bit unsure how to interpret what he told me.

    Thanks!
