We've been waiting over two years for a 601 waiver. We had to file a mandamus to get them to make a decision. He was approved for the waiver a day after the US government received the subpoena.  He was approved today at the consulate for his visa!

We were approved on September 24th, 2020 after filing a mandamus. I'm looking forward to November 3rd!  We're just waiting for instructions from the consulate now.

Sorry for your hard struggle. Persevere and you will get the result.
Our case is similar and we just get an approval email about 30 Mn ago.
I fact, my wife was arrested in 1994 in Cape Town (South Africa) during a student strike against the apartheid regime. The new president was just elected and all the country was in turmoil requesting the rapid transition. The apartheid regime was still in place. During the nationwide student strike, looters as well were on the road, vandalizing shops.
Any student arrested was indicted "theft" and sentenced for 3 months prison or R300.00 fine.
During her interview for immigrant visa on July 2018 in Johannesburg, she was deemed eligible to apply for I-601. This is qualified as petty offense, but USCIS didn't take it as such.
Responding to the RFE we received on July 2020, I amended the I-601 by introducing the miss-presentation.
In her visa application, she mentioned that she never been arrested because she was not considering the arrest. I realized that it is a miss-presentation and amended the application.
We just got approved now after 2 years.
Please note that I had to seek help from my congressman and the USCIS Ombudsman service.
Know your case and articulate it yourself. I did not get a lawyer

UPDATE: Well, we've finally crossed a barrier but it took another year and a Mandamus to get to this point. Our waiver was approved on September 24, 2020. It took Lizz Cannon suing the government on our behalf. Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself. We all need our loved ones with us, and we should never be put through what many of us have been and are continuing to be. Keep the faith. We still have to get through the second interview. xx Bless you all.

601 waiver approved on July 1st. Was told Montreal consulate sends letter of instructions by email but we've received nothing yet. First interview was over a year so I know we will need another interview but not sure what we can do right now. Tried to contact the consulate by email and phone with no response. Anyone have any advice besides just sit and wait or how long the instructions might take? It's been almost 3 weeks. Thanks

We filed 485 in August 2017 but we had our AOS interview in March 2019 and in July we were requested to file 601 waiver. It’s been a long journey. Hopefully we get approved soon

My Iranian husband had his interview in May 2016. He has been put on Administrative Processing ever since. We just heard recently that he will be having his interview in February 2020. He was asked to redo the medical exam, bring all the original documents, and most current passport. It seems his visa is ready to be picked up. I applied for his visa the beginning of 2016. By the time he will be getting his visa, it will have been 4 years.

No, he's a UK citizen. He's an old punk rock guy with crimes from 40 years ago. (petty theft and a fist fight with another guy) 

We just noticed Thursday that the processing times estimate had gone down to 8.5 - 10 months and thought we might hear something by the end of November. Then, Friday night we got a notice on our USCIS website account that we were approved on the 20th.
 
Receipt date = 2/13/2019
Approval date = 9/20/2019
10 year bar for visa overstay
 
Hoping to hear from the London embassy soon about getting an appointment....

we got our approval yesterday! My service request came back and I opened it thinking it would be the same bs that it was still being processed and I nearly fell out of my seat when it said it was approved. I really hope you hear something soon! 
 

They need to update the case processing time on the website if cases are taking this long. They have no regard for much these inaccurate wait times screw with peoples lives. Congratulations on your waiver being approved!
 

I’m sorry to hear that. Wishing you the best outcome. We last heard a couple weeks ago that my husband waiver was sent for additional review, no idea what this means and we haven’t received anything in the mail since they first got his waiver in March 2018. Trying to stay positive with the mindset we will be together in the end no matter what happens. Stay strong 🙏🏼

40 years ago???? Absolutely ridiculous! I am so sorry! This process is so horrific and the time, money and energy you’ve already spent! Was the victim injured? 40 years ago no other record? 🤦🏼‍♀️ smh

We got an interview 2 weeks after the i601 approval. We have an interview appointment on the 21st of Nov
