sharin got a reaction from EM_Vandaveer in I am house wife do not work so no joint account no joint utility bills no joint property deed
Never too late to start, incase she gets RFE - she has some evidences ready to go. It'll work for sure! ROC take 11+ month - she still has like 3-4 months remaining.

1. Open new Joint checking account and start paying major bills from it OR ask your husband to add you on existing account which is used for paying atleast Rent / mortgage
2. Ask your husband to add you on credit cards as Authorized User (you can submit front and back of credit card)
3. Transfer one of Utility Bills to your name
4. Health / Auto Insurance showing both names (you and husband)
5. Life Insurance showing each other as Beneficiary
6. If your husband owns property, ask him to add you as Beneficiary incase of death (he can always change this after Green Card is approved).

Weird question though - have you ever contacted USCIS to inquire about your case? I wonder if constant bugging to USCIS may speed up your case?
I contacted USCIS about my case for Biometrics and already approved. I have seen lots of time people inquiring and suddenly they get approval. Yes it could be just coincidence but multiple datapoints can't be ignored just as coincidences.

I posted my actual appointment earlier in the thread. Basically I completed my biometrics about two weeks prior to my scheduled date by doing an early walk-in.

Agreed - they only care if you're filing taxes regularly and don't owe anything to IRS.

sharin reacted to nullaccount234 in USCIS Agents unannounced home visit after ROC Approve and GC in hands ???
I was walking home a few years ago in the middle of the night when a car stopped slightly in ahead of me, just by the curb. A man comes out, looks completely civilian, introduces himself and flashes a police badge. At this point I realize that I would never, ever be able to tell a fake one from a real one. The thing that did make him seem like a real policeman to me was actually not the badge but the fact that he had a radio on him that he spoke into. He needed to check my ID for some not immediately evident reason, I believe he said he was looking for someone who was lost or something.
Anyway, I'm still not sure what you're supposed to do in situations like that. It can definitely be a bit unsettling.

Unsettling part of this experience, how to really identify if they were not fake USCIS Agents.
I mean anyone can show any badge and risk exposing your family members / kids to strangers by letting them in.

sharin got a reaction from Given2Fly in Credit score changed / gone after naturalization?
I'm credit score expert, answer is NO - there is no correlation. Only thing it helps you out is there are some bank institutions which opens their certain product like credit cards, LOC etc strictly to US Citizens.
Also, I hope you removed "DHS Authorization" wording printed on SSN if not - visit local SSN office and request for new SSN physical copy. (your SSN will remain same).

sharin got a reaction from Roel in The immigration officer took our apartment lease agreement during interview.
You're out of luck - you either need lease copy in your hand or contact landlord. You don't get any documents submitted to USCIS back.

Our status on 01/31/2019 was updated to "New Card Was Mailed to Me" but we haven't gotten anything in the mail, so we just did the e-service request they advise to do when checking your status. Anyone else have this experience?

Got our notice 2/15, card came in today 2/22. Never got tracking number and it didn't show up in the informed delivery from USPS. We have just been checking every day in case it came, and it popped up just now. So about 4-5 business day turnaround which is pretty good from USCIS.

USCIS mailed my card Feb 15 and we’ve been expecting the card to arrive since Tuesday, yay. Today is the first time we didn’t go to the mailbox as there’s no USCIS mail that appeared in the USPS informed delivery. Saw your post and read it to my husband. He got out right away and took the mails. He came back and he has a BIG smile! I’m very happy my I-751 process is over.
I wish everybody here the same luck too!

sharin got a reaction from Greenbaum in USC Spouse Unemployment
Discussion in media is for Immigrants who rely on Government benefits- not for US Citizens. And for unemployment benefits, anyone is eligible as long as you contributed for social security (paid taxes etc.) Unless I'm missing any recent development.
Also, we definitely don't plan to request Medicaid and food stamps 😅

sharin got a reaction from Name O Boy in USC Spouse Unemployment
Filed I-751 in April 2018, recently my USC spouse lost job and plans to claim unemployment benefits starting Sept-2018.
I'm currently employed (salary above poverty guideline by USCIS) - we been filing taxes together so far, will this affect pending I-751 case and N-400 (in future).

sharin got a reaction from Ash.1101 in Will USCIS see my parents' marriage as fake marriage?
You guys need Professional Attorney / Advisor - not forum. Case is already complicated due to fact that he left country after receiving conditional GC - although he had valid reason but portraying in front of USCIS in legal way and Immigration is something you don't want to take chances with. Attorney will charge $1-2K but it'll be worth spending money when you're already aware it is not straight-forward case and when you guys need quick advice to sleep peacefully at night.

My bad - I'm wrong. You guys are right - 1year extension is from date of GC expiration.

sharin reacted to LinJoe in I-751 April 2018 Filers
Some one please correct me if i'm wrong, but my understanding is the 1 year extension is from when your GC expires not necessarily 1 year from when your NOA is dated. So if your GC expired on April 22, 2018, then the 1 year extension is until April 22, 2019. in the case of my husband, his GC expires on July 4, 2018 so the 1 year extension is until July 4th 2019.
I think there was an immigration lawyer on this forum, not sure if he/she would know.
