Hi please i need your to hear your experience of your N400 interview about job history. I have an interview coming, and i am preparing for the answers on my application. i have a lot of jobs. i am self employed i help cell phone stores start their businesses and expand and i do a lot of online businesses like selling accessories, tools, softwares, parts. and i pay taxes of course. do they ask for details because i know that will take me little while to explain everything i do and how i do it because i feel like my job is complicated to explain it to someone thats not experienced in it.

let me make it short.

do they ask details of your business or if you are self employed or job details ?

I don’t think they go into a lot of details.  My wife listed herself as self-employed on her N400 and I don’t remember her saying anything about questions regarding employment history.

Good Luck!

Agreed - they only care if you're filing taxes regularly and don't owe anything to IRS.

I am self-employed but I operate under a single officer S-Corp.

Under employer I put the company name but I also said I was self-employed.

At the interview they asked me who I worked for and I said the company name.  They then asked "are you self employed" and I said yes.

That was it.  They did not ask what I did.

Later I was asked the generic question from the form about paying taxes and I said yes.

That was it.
