I am very happy to be done with my immigration journey!

I had a combo interview and went with my husband and toddler. The officer was super friendly and told us she usually separates couples but wouldn't separate us because she had already reviewed our file. She asked me for my husband's birth and full name, and she asked my husband to confirm my birth date and our mailing address. She approved the I-751 and then proceeded to the N-400. I asked her if she didn't want to see any the evidence we had. She told me that what I had originally submitted was more than enough, "and this precious baby's birth certificate was all I needed to see". The I-751 did not even take 5 minutes and I think we were done in under 30 minutes.

All in all, I'm glad I filed for citizenship when I did. I'm not sure if it caused the I-751 to be approved faster or if it slowed it down but now I don't have to worry or deal with USCIS again.

    Good luck to all!

    Field office: Manchester NH.

I showed up to the interview with my husband and our toddler, as it was a combo interview. The officer was super friendly and told us she usually separates couples but wouldn't separate us because she had already reviewed our file. The exam was extremely easy, she asked me 6 of the civics questions, then had me write a short sentence and read a question. She then confirmed all of my information, asked me some of the security questions "are you a princess? unfortunately no lol" and recommended me for approval. It was overall a very pleasant experience and I think we were done in under 30 minutes.

    Good luck to all.

When u apply for I 400 with pending I 751 and for example interview gets delayed for some reason and ur working n travel permit is almost expiring how that works ?

You’re still a permanent resident. If your extension letter expires you can get an infopass appointment at your local office and get a I-551 stamp on your passport as evidence of your permanent resident status.

Great news, didn't think you could get Real ID. Believe we chatted about this before.

I contacted all my local NJ govt and assembly people and one of them was helping me get an appointment at the MVC. I ended up getter her an appointment by luck, I signed onto the scheduling site and found an appointment the SAME DAY! She did have a 2 week period of no license as we waited for the NOA1.

I’m glad you were able to get a same day appointment!
The language on the NJ dmv website is tricky regarding Real ID for us on an extension letter but hopefully this will help others in the same situation :)

  5. Little update that may be useful for NJ applicants who need to renew their licenses: My license (and my GC) expire tomorrow but I was able to renew it today into a Real ID valid until 9/22.

I mention this because license renewal appointments were not available until later in April and I wouldn’t have been able to drive for awhile but Real ID appointments seem to be easier to get (I could’ve scheduled at an earlier date but I was concerned my NOA wouldn’t arrive on time).

Hello Everyone! The 90 day period to file for removal of conditions for us started on Jan.4, 2021 as well, but I do have a few questions if any of you all would be so kind to assist us in any way! Thank you in advance!

    1) We just had our son in Dec 2020 here in America! Would I list his information in Part 5 of the i-751? I am asking because I took Part 5 to be for providing all information for children who are also conditional resident dependents.

    2) When I began this journey with my husband, I (the sponsor) filed the i-130 under my maiden name. Since he has rejoined me here in the US, I have since then changed my last name to my married name. Do I need to use Part 11 of the petition to explain that we started the process under my maiden name and provide (direct them to) evidence of proof of name change? I still have my old Driver's License and passport and plan to include it, but all of our evidence now has my married last name.

    3) I have reviewed the i-797 (Notice of Action) from when we filed the i-130 and do not see a USCIS Online Account Number to include on this current petition (i-751). I have also check our myuscis, gov account to see if the number is there, but had no luck! Both the NOA and the online account only lists the receipt number from filling the i-130. Will I be penalized or delayed if I do not list the USCUS Online Account number?

We had a baby in October and we listed him in the application. You are supposed to include all children, just check "no" on question 5 (is the child applying with you?) We didn't include a USCIS online account number as we don't have one.

I think as long as you have A. Joint finances, B. Cohabitation, C. Joint life insurances etc. ur pretty solid.

    good luck!

    Thank you!

I feel confident about the evidence but I'm nervous I somehow screwed the I-751 form (I double-checked but still lol)

This is a great idea. I'm going to write it and if I can't drop it off, I'll have my mom do it. Did you just send it to the address on the site? Is there anyone you contacted specifically?

I sent it to the address at the bottom of the interview notice (yours should be Mt. Laurel), I just addressed it to "Dear Officer"

I also paid the extra buck or two to get a signature confirmation receipt.

I've been trying to send you in private a photo of the letter but I can't figure how to attach files 😕

OMG I had no idea about this. They didn't say ANYTHING like this to us on the phone!  We leave on Saturday for Argentina! Gahhhh!

Yeah they only told me this when I called to see if it was granted or not.

I'm sure you guys will be just fine with the phone request  After all, that's what you should do according to the interview notice. I'd still try to write a letter to the field office and have it delivered with a tracking number (maybe your parents or a friend can take the letter to the post office?) just to be safe but you should be good anyway.

Yes, and it is the date of our flight :( We will be in ezeiza during the interview!!!! :( :(

So we need to reschedule. We called the minute we opened the envelope. I can't believe it is the same day. What awful luck, right?!

We called the USCIS. The agent I spoke to said she put in a service inquiry and gave us a confirmation code. I hope she does what she is supposed to do. She didn't ask for proof or send us to a Tier 2 officer or anything. What was your experience like?

Ouch! And we thought we had bad luck! Ours is 5 days before we are back.

I suggest mailing a letter to the field office by certified mail as well.

I received an acknowledgement letter a week after placing the request on the phone. It says nothing. We were told twice by USCIS that we MUST (even though the notice doesn't say anything about it) mail the request in writing by certified mail to the field office.  I explained why we need to reschedule,  when are we available for a new interview and submitted proof of the trip. Hopefully that will work. What makes me nervous is that I don't trust the bureaucracy to do what they should and pass the message correctly. My aunt (who is also our immigration attorney) will call on the day of to make sure the officer got the memo.

Oh well I can't wait for Argentina! Just 9 more days!

  11. 44 minutes ago, Sarah&Facundo said:

Uh oh.... Our status just changed to interview was scheduled. We will be in Argentina until January 24th. I imagine the date will fall somewhere a week or two before we leave. UGH! I guess we will have to wait for that paper. Did the USCIS give you a date on the phone?

Oh, I feel you. Yes, call and request a callback from a level 2 officer. Be prepared to be on hold for a looong time. Once you get the date -if necessary- reschedule on the phone. I was told by the Level 2 that you cannot do that. Well, when I got the letter, it clearly states the only way you can reschedule now is by phone. There's really no point on waiting for the letter.

I already know this is going to be our luck as well....

Oh well, Argentina here we come!!

Let me know what the reschedule process is like, if you can please

I hope you don't need to reschedule but just in case: When I called USCIS to find out the date and time for the interview, I was told you cannot reschedule on the phone and can only do it by mailing a letter once you have the interview notice.

As of today, I still haven't received the letter so I called USCIS again to see if I could at least schedule an InfoPass. Turns out, you CAN reschedule on the phone (there's even an option in the menu for that) so I did that. They will forward the request to Newark FO and will make a decision within 30 days (just before the interview).

So we decided we'll also mail the request once we get the interview notice and try to make an InfoPass appointment before leaving the country if we don't hear anything from them. If three days before the interview we are still waiting for a decision, we'll cut our holidays short and fly back to the US. There's not much else we can do at this point.

had our interview today in Newark, 7:15am was appointment time we waited about 30 minutes and was called back, very easy and relaxed. he asked for ID's and certain copies nothing out of the ordinary, Asked how we met, said everything looked good but was still waiting for our I-129 file. said it shouldn't take but a couple of days.   he told us what the next steps were going to be and that was it. we were done in like 20 minutes.

Congrats! Hope you get the approval notice soon
