bengal17 got a reaction from MelOe in I-751 April 2023 Filers
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share some great news. Our I-751 petition to remove conditions on residence has been approved today, July 12, 2025! My wife received an email notification from USCIS stating that action had been taken on our case. We checked the case status on the USCIS website, and it now shows that the petition has been approved and that the new green card is being produced. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that no interview was required in our case.
Wishing everyone the best of luck with their applications.

Hi, our timeline is the same. We mailed our i-751 packet on 4/10, delivered, and picked up 4/12 from Phoenix, AZ. We used personal check and no notifications yet. Waiting patiently, though it's hard lol. Good luck to all of us!

Hi guys,
I just want to give an update regarding our interview. We had our AOS interview today at San Fernando Chatsworth field office scheduled at 12:15pm. We arrived at 12 and there was a line for 12:15pm appointment. We passed through security like you go through airport security, removing shoes, emptying pockets etc. Got in line again for the initial process which is identification and fingerprint scan, got a number (time stamped was 12:45pm) and waited to be called.
After roughly 30-40mins, we were called and we were scorted by our interviewer to a private room/office. Took an oath to tell the truth. My spouse and I were asked to show our original BC, marriage certificate, and passports. My spouse who is the applicant was asked basic questions like our full names, physical address, both our birthday, marriage date while referring to the application form to check accuracy. After that, was asked a series of security questions that is answered by NO :). Was then asked for proof of bonafide marriage such as joint assets documentation, pictures. Interviewere didn't ask for affidavit of suport. We were also asked to tell about our love story hehehe with follow up questions regarding the love story. Interviewer then returned our original copies back to us, said she was just printing something and casually said:, "oh by the way, I approved your application. Congratulations." Green card is supposed to be here in two weeks. As soon as we got back to the car, I checked my phone and there was a notification saying that the application was approved and moments later, got another notification that says card is being produced.
P.S. we didn't bring our phone, but turns out you can bring them.

Hello everyone! We had our interview last week, May 26, Wednesday, and was approved for a green card on the spot. It took us more than 11 months.
A little background: I went to the states on February 21, 2020 on a B2 visa from the Philippines to visit my then boyfriend, now husband. He proposed a week before my trip was set to end (my flight back to the PI was on the 16th of March), but by then covid was making its way to the US and many countries were beginning to close their borders. We decided to get married and file for an AOS instead. We married on March 25, 2020.
So, eleven months later we arrive in downtown SD at 11:30AM. Our interview was for 12:30PM. We walked on over to the USCIS building along Front St. and was in line at 12:10PM. Went through a TSA-like security then proceeded to the fourth floor where we waited for more or less 30 minutes before getting called in to be interviewed. We were led to our IO's office and my husband (petitioner) and I were asked to take an oath. She asked for our IDs, interview letter, and my I-693.
There was a tablet propped up to the side of her desk and we were told that she would be asking the questions from the other room. Her first set of questions were addressed to my husband. She asked for his name, his birthday, my name, my birthday, whether he was born here in San Diego (born and raised), our wedding anniversary date, our home address, who we live with (we live with his mom), his occupation, where he works, whether or not I have a job atm (still unemployed). She then proceeded to asking me whether I've ever had any other name--I initially answered never, but she asked me about my maiden name. I corrected myself and dictated my maiden name. Next, she asked where I was from, how many times I've been to the states (three times on a B2 visa) and how long each visit was, whether I've been married before, have children, and the rest of the I-485 questions regarding military training, being jailed, ever been a member of groups etc and whathaveyous. After my set of questions were done, she told us that the next set were for either of us to answer. We were asked when we first met and how, when we decided to be in a relationship with each other, when it became serious, whether a proposal happened or if marriage was just something we simply talked about and decided to do. She came back in and asked for our tax returns, our joint bank account and health insurance, then left the room. When she returned, she congratulated us and told us that she's approving our case and that I will be receiving my green card in the mail within a week! She had us sign some papers and that was it!
We're so happy to finally be done with the process and we hope that everyone here receives the same positive outcome as us. Thank you for everyone's advice and support on here. We couldn't have done it without this forum.
See you all in two years for ROC!

Hi all,
I finally did my interview yesterday! All went well! The IO was so nice and our status changed to "Interview was completed, my case must be reviewed", after 3 hours. We submitted the medical exam, 2020 taxes and some other documents. Hopefully, it will be approved soon.

I want to share our interview experience with you. First they called me (beneficiary) and then my husband. Each interview was around 10 15 min.
Questions they asked both of us:
- Names
- Siblings name and work occupation
- Date and places of engagement and Wedding
- Who proposed to who and What was the proposal like
- Did we go to the honeymoon
- My husband work position, work days and work hours and how many people work in his business.
- How we met and when
- Where I have been worked before on J1 and they asked him the same after.
- What was my bachelor and master degree in.
- Then he went through "yes" and " no" questions from form I-485
I think that was all. Very smooth and easy, officer was nice and polite.
