Never ever buy a ticket before visa IN HAND unless you can afford to lose the money. Some days it's a few days sometimes it's a few weeks before you pick up visa. Besides what if you get AP for some reason? Nothing is 100% certain until you have it

our case is in a different country, but I agree with you. We had the interview date a few days after our case was CC. While others wait for a month to get the interview date. I think is fear if PD is taking in consideration, because we have been waiting more time. We have the interview next week and its been almost a year since we started with this process  on 11/24/17

Thank you!!! We got the text today that USCIS got the documents and the case number (LIN), so the case will be handled by the Nebraska Service Center. Current timeline for NOA2 is anywhere between 7-9 months.

Sorry son, I had you and your mother come over, even though i already knew she was unfaithful (which btw isnt visa fraud) and now I want to send her away.  You dont need nor want your mommy do you? Really?

    Dude,

You brought her here so you could have your son.  You got that.

Now you want to deport her so you alone can have your son.  You would deprive him of a mother.  You ain't getting that.

I’m no expert on immigration reform but I will say that Tourist visas in Haiti are rarely approved no matter how many ties you show. I’ve had family members/friends who just want to visit to shop/explore the US that have families, houses that they’ve built from the ground up on land they’ve purchased and even businesses up and running that proves, IMO, major ties to their country and they still get denied. Doesn’t matter how much proof they bring to the interview. I think the only visas they actually take time to make decisions on are K1’s/CR1’s and other sponsorship visa’s and such. I wouldn’t consider Haiti a High fraud country, but I’m going to go ahead and guess we don’t have the best percentages when it comes to tourist visa use in the past. Which is why they probably just deny, deny, deny now. That’s just my little 2 cents. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Finally,  we decided as a last option to request the police certificate from Panama's Embassy in Bogota. My husband went to the embassy in Bogota and did request the police certificate from this country. We need to call at the embassy next week to find out if the document is ready. If is it, then our friend needs to pick up the document in Panama at
"Departamento de Legalizaciones" Ave. Ricardo J. Alfaro. Tumba Muertos. Arriba del Banco Nacional del Dorado

Then, he needs to send the documet to my husband in Colombia. We hope to have it ready for the interview.

If asked now, I would probably agree because people tend to become cautious with age. But at 27, I met my ex, decided it was serious on the first date, he moved in with me in a week, married in 5 months, had kids, after 17 years agreed that marriage has failed, separated and got final divorce decree after 19. We met not on vacation but through our jobs. Does it really matter? Hardly. Was it merely lust and infatuation? Don't think so. It wasn't an international or long distance relationship though.

K1 visa is a derivative from a relationship, if it is viable, everything is doable. People tend to pay more attention to formal issues of K1 process and known red flags but hardly ever consider why COs tend to be preoccupied with them. However, IMO red flags are more important for the couple themselves, because they can really spoil the best of relationships. If red flags (including short courtship) are duly addressed in terms of K1, moving and adjusting the status (not buying property, not having kids right after marriage, having sufficient funds to support the beneficiary up to EAD, beneficiary willing and able to find a decent job etc),  if the couple know what they are doing and why, they will be fine.

We just had our interview (and approval ) yesterday, and I would like to share my opinion.

First, I owe a great deal to the members on VJ, because they cleared up a lot of my questions and concerns both in the forums and through private message. Everything from filling out the forms to gathering evidence can be confusing and the instructions from other members made it so much easier.  Also, a few members were even super nice and notified those of us waiting for interviews through the embassy in Ghana when dates were available.  Always reach out to those couples who have dealt with the embassy you are going through. This is not an easy process and every bit helps!! However, you have to use the advice of others at your own discretion...

Second, a lot of members share their experiences (good and bad) without including a lot of "backstory".  For some of the denials, I saw people say they did not know why or give misleading information.  However, if you are smart, you will realize that most denials fall into a list of categories and you can double check your case with similar cases to get a good idea of your chances for approval and if there are red flags to be addressed.  I will not comment on others relationships, but age/cultural/religious differences, the time spent together, time spent in a relationship before becoming engaged, and language barriers are often highlighted for their significance in the approval process.  Other than that, you have instructions on what to send in your application, as well as, the requirements.  Going above and beyond the requirements is an option for some and a necessity for others.

Lastly, true love overcomes all.  Some of us are fortunate to have approvals, but some are denied - that's an unfortunate fact.  But there are many couples who did not give up, they did not let the government decide their fate.  There is always a Plan B.  You may not yet be able to together here, but the world is open to you - international and online employment is at its peak right now. Even a basic American salary can go a long way in certain countries. You are not stuck - it may take time to meet the requirements for an approval, but how you utilize the time is completely up to you and your fiance/spouse.
