  1. Hello, If you can get to Las Vegas any morning I can get you married with certificate in hand within an hour. License is a little over 100 dollars, copies of the certificate are 20 dollars each. I don't charge VJ members for my services, so it is a pretty reasonable and quick way to get a certificate in hand. I have had people get the certificate and have their package ready to mail, and they have mailed it the same day. Message me for my contact information, and I can give you more information.
  2. I have a CDL, and have had one over 20 years. If he got one back in the day, it wouldn't be a problem to get, I think I got mine out of a cracker jack box.. LOL, back when they were chauffeur licenses. They have really begun to crack down on the CDL's lately, and you could usually avoid issues by not having a Hazmat endorsement. The Hazmat triggers all types of fingerprinting and backround checks. I have had Hazmat ever since I have had my license, and since say 2011 they really began the crackdown, and now they are applying it to every CDL holder. Until he gets his work authorization his CDL is going to expire. Hopefully he can get the authorization before he has to retake all the testing and things they require now to issue one. back in the day anyone could easily get a CDL, not the case now with school requirements and things. Not much you can do but wait for the EAD. It is becoming a nightmare to be a CDL holder now a days, and I have given thought to ditching mine, but it is guaranteed employment just about anywhere. I cannot think of anyway to expidite the process, I would say he could get an offer letter from his current employer, but that would be weird as he is already working. Maybe he could get an offer letter from another company, and use that to expedite his EAD.
  3. Next time buy a refundable ticket is my advice. Airlines love no shows, that's free money.
  4. I don't think she is going to be able to pull off a US passport either just because she married you. I agree you can add her to your insurance, bank accounts, and things like that as a married couple. I also agree you don;t have to get married again in the US, your marriage if legal in Manila, will be legal anywhere else in the world. Why would they even have a CR1 visa if you could just marry a foreign national and get them a passport at the embassy. I wish I would have known this and avoided 4-5 years of K1, AOS, Removing of Conditions, and N400 filings. Would have saved me Thousands of dollars also, I would double check on the US passport thing, and if it's possible, post back and let everyone know. Good news is, you got the hard part done and started the clock on the marriage, that means it will be an easy 2 years before she can enter on her visa( They are taking 18 months or so, and you haven't even filed yet), and she will avoid removing conditions and go straight to 10 year green card. SO you should have no issues entering after your 2 year marriage date. And if it processes faster, suck it up and wait the extra few months to get past the 2 year mark, and she will enter on a IR1 if memory serves instead of a CR1.
  5. You shouldn't have an issue via land as CBP can verify your citizenship status with a copy of the Naturalization certificate. My CBP friend is currently stationed in Calgary,CA and her wife just got citizenship, and they have been traveling between the US and Canada, and even went to Alaska just using the Certificate. You should have no issue, as even she said her wife can't Fly anywhere until she gets her passport because the airlines have no way to verify and allow you to board a flight with the certificate, but any CBP port of entry should be able to verify you are a citizen and let you in. My wife is currently waiting for her passport also as she plans to travel to Thailand later in July. She will have no problem leaving and entering Thailand as she holds dual citizenship now, but getting on the plane to come back without any proof of her status as a US citizen won't fly, so she is waiting for the passport to be safe.
  6. I uploaded 3 years of transcripts with my wifes N400, but she was 3 year rule. Still, save the money and do it yourself, The N400 was the easiest part of the whole process.
  7. When I did my wifes N400 this past November, they approved The I-751 and had the green card only 19 days after filing N400, so I believe it speeds up the I-751 process in my experience. And only like 4 months after green card arrived, wife did interview, and then took oath a few weeks later. Was a citizen within 5 months of filing N400.
  8. I would do Emirates or Qatar, I have flown all the airlines mentioned, and these would be my top 2, might not be the cheapest of the 4. I am not a big fan of Turkish airline, but I had no issues, and have only flown them once, but didn't get that welcoming vibe like you definitely get with Emirates. Etihad is pretty good also, but I have only flown them once also, while I have Multiple trips on Emirates and Qatar. As for travel with the extension letter, had no issues with my wife, other than one time in Korea, but I blame that on the gate agent there, were were all checked thru at the beginning of the trip, and then this gate agent got flaky on our layover, but still worked out.
  9. When you come thru the POE, one of the questions the officer will ask is " Have you paid your Green card fee" if you have he will ask to verify the address on file. If they don't ask, make sure you bring it up at POE, that is your only chance to check the address the card will be mailed to if you already paid the fee online. After you enter it will be a real time trying to figure things out. Just make sure you verify at POE.
  10. Filing N400 worked for us. 19 days after filing N400, had 10 year green card approved and in the mail. A few weeks after that had citizenship test, and 3 weeks later oath ceremony. Seems like they sit on the I-751 until you apply for citizenship, then do something about it.
  11. I had to book my wifes appointment over an hour away at a middle of nowhere post office to get an appointment even 3 weeks out. I scheduled it as soon as she passed the citizenship test, and knew oath would be in 3 weeks. Look in the middle of nowhere for a post office there. Might have to drive 2 to 3 hours out to get it done, but not much choice. Some libraries do it, but they fill up fast. If needed fly to the middle of Iowa, or Ohio, easy to get appointments there. or find a state closer to you that has appointments. There are a few in Montana also that always have appointments. Or you suck it up and pay a few hundred extra at one of the agencies that will do it for you.
  12. Agree with all the others advice, Be polite but firm, remember, they don't have the authority to revoke your status, they can make your life miserable for a few hours, but other than that just stay strong, and know your rights. Prepare for the worst, but you may just roll thru no issues also. Think positive.
  13. You should have his name on some of the paperwork, so you should try to contact him locally directly if possible. As much as I hate USCIS, most of the IO's I encountered were very nice, but there was one, but anyway, You can contact your senators office and have them inquire, but try the polite way first as hard as it is, especially being this close to the end, and then if a reasonable amount of time has passed with no results, I agree with hitting them full bore with a full on lawsuit. You are at 4 weeks, and that is about the right amount of time for something to happen, I think you will see an oath notice in the next week or so. Good luck, and hang in there, you are almost done, and my wife just became a citizen in April, so trust me I understand where your at.
  14. I agree with postponing the interview if possible. The Thai embassy Visa Unit is very responsive to emails, and very easy to communicate with. I have had a bunch of times for different things I had to contact them, and they have always come thru.
  15. With everyone getting global entry, even though I have it I find I don't use it as much as the app based mobile passport. You enter all you information in the app, and answer all the questions on you phone, and then it gives you a QR code to scan at the 1 line for mobile passport ( That is usually empty in my experience). I walk up and scan the QR code, and roll thru, actually a lot faster than global entry in my experience. I recommend the mobile passport app for now, until everyone starts using that. https://www.cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/mobile-passport-control
  16. The expedite will just get it thru the review process faster. you are still going to have 3-4 weeks advanced notice of the interview, so you should be able to get a medical done.
  17. Don't think it will be an issue. When my wife and I went to our AOS interview, I saw the photos I submitted with the I-129 attached to a page in the large file the officer had on his desk. I don't think they were used for anything but attaching to some paper in the file, so I don't think in this case size is going to matter. You should be fine unless you get a real picky reviewer.
  18. Have to check the wait times for you local office. My wife passed her test on March 16th, Oath ceremony 3 weeks later on April 6th. Las Vegas, NV office seems to be averaging 3 weeks .
  19. 2 options for you, wait until Visa is in your possession, or make sure you buy refundable, or flexible tickets. There are a lot of variables that come into play that can end up ruining even the best plans.
  20. Looks like the Ex pulled her I-864, or sent something to trigger this. Time to lawyer up! and make sure you have plenty of evidence that you entered into the marriage in good faith.
  21. You can bring an interpreter, and I recommend it, as the Phone ones they use are really bad. Even during covid they let you use your interpreter via phone if you had too, but now should be no issues, but if you are close, stop by the field office and ask.
  22. I'm here and available. No charge for VJ members. Can have you married and certificate in hand in under an hour. Message me if you need more details or my contact information
  23. I agree with @Mike E, Nigeria is a tough consulate. you will get a USCIS approval pretty easily as you met the requirements, you may want to try to get as many trips in before the interview as possible to increase your chances.
  24. Definitely file the N400. 19 days after we filed my wifes N400 the I751 was approved and had 10 year green card a week later. Then citizenship interview Mid May, and Oath ceremony on the 6th of April, and no more USCIS. Today is the 16th, so 10 days later, and every morning I have been waking up thinking no more USCIS. Will probably continue for a least a few more weeks.
  25. I agree, But even as a citizen when I did my passport I had to send in my original Birth Certificate. I got that back, but Birth certificate here in the US is pretty easy to replace, Naturalization certificate not so easy.
