  1. Hi everyone. I sent out our AOS October 15th, and we got a RFE in February about our co-sponsor and had to resend financial info/documents.

We just sent that in last week, because we have been crazy busy with many things.. we had until May to send the documents in though, so we are fine.

I realize sending it in later rather than sooner will push us back a bit, but when can I expect some progress from the RFE

Looks like this is my new thread to follow! Filed our AOS on October 15th, 2018. Hello everyone! 🙋‍♀️

Tonight I received 3 text messages all saying our case was received with receipt number! I'm glad I finally heard something back! I entered the receipts into the case tracker and should be getting letters in the mail soon. Yayyy :)

USCIS is (or was 5 years ago) pretty lenient on the co-mingling of finances stuff (that you will need for ROC) because you are just starting your lives together. However, I would include whatever you do have so far (joint bank accounts, any life insurance and/or annuities/401K plans showing each other as beneficiaries;  joint credit cards, leases--anything at this point that shows you live together as a couple). Like I said, it probably won't be much yet, so anything is good--and start filing this stuff away now so you won't be scrambling in 2 years. It might sounds strange at your point in your marriage, but a simple will and medical power of attorney are easy and cheap to set up. These documents are great for USCIS and better for life. Good luck!

Thank you for the tips. Is any of this needed for the actual AOS package though? I haven read if anyone including it

  4. Hello everyone. My husband came with a K1 Visa, and we are preparing to send our Adjustment of Status package early next week. I've read several guides and forum posts, but just want to triple check that I've done it correctly, and have included everything. (He is from UK)

    ------Cover Letter

    ------Form G-1145   E- Notification

----- Form I-485 (Main AOS form)

    > Include the following behind the completed form: Copy of passport biographical page, entry stamps and K1 Visa Page; NOA2 From our K1 Visa; I-94 Arrival and Departure Record, My husband's birth certificate, A copy of a certified copy marriage license, two (2) passport photos, DS-3025 vaccination documentation from his medical exam from London; I-864 affidavit of support from myself and co-sponsor

    ---- Form I-765 (Employment Authorization)

    > Includes the following behind the completed form: Two (2) passport photos, copy of passport biographical page, entry stamps and K1 Visa Page; I-94 Arrival and Departure Record

---- Form I-131 (Advance Parole Travel Document)

    > Includes the followoing behind the completed form: Two (2) passport photos, copy of passport biographical page, entry stamps and K1 Visa Page; I-94 Arrival and Departure Record

Is this everything? My husband and I have signed the cover letter page and he has signed all the documents he needed to. I know we don't have the $1225 check/payment.  We have not included it in the packet yet, which is why I didn't include it on the list, but it is listed on our cover letter and we know we need it! :)  However, if I am missing anything else, or anything seems wrong, please let me know. I appreciate everyones time & thank you for your responses.

  5. My fiancé has his interview in 2 days and got an email that says he needs the following:

    • Your valid passport;
    • A paper copy of your appointment instruction page (you will have received this in an email; please print it out and bring it with you);
    • A paper copy of your DS-160 visa application confirmation page.

where or what is his appointment instruction page? We have another email he got that says his case number, visa fee paid, appointment date, passport number etc.. does he just need a print out of that email?

Just want to clarify .. thank you

  6. My fiancé suffered from some anxiety/ low mood a few years ago but nothing was diagnosed, no medication given, so he was never actually deemed to be “depressed”, just had low mood.

His GP wrote the isn’t a harm to himself or others bit, do you think it will be ok? Or do you think he will need more? His medical is tomorrow so I guess we will find out...

You don't need anything to do with the fees as they are paid online when you submit DS-160 now, so you wouldn't be there if you hadn't paid.

I just submitted our DS-160 around a week ago but didn’t pay anything :s I assumed you still had to go through the other websites to book / pay the MRV fee?

It has kinda dropped by the wayside. That pinned thread is extremely outdated. Things have changed multiple times including website links.

Oh jeez. If you know, could you tell me if this is everything we need for the interview?

    Ds160 printout

    birth certificate

    ACRO police certificate

    affidavits of support + evidence

    passport

    passport photos

    confirmation of visa fee paid

is that everything for just the interview?

You have really helped me to calm down, thank you so much. I will get started on the DS-160 now then. If I do not get a letter prior to the medical exam then I will take everything I can to support the correct number etc.

This is really great, thank you so much.

Sorry I wasn’t aware about not needing the notification of applicant readiness. It was listed to do in the pinned post about London k1 process, so we did it, took 30 seconds lol. Oh well :P

    Hello,

How did you get on with this? It's been one month since our NOA2, but we called and got our case number. Am I able to book the medical, and submit the DS-160? The guy at the NVC said I we need to wait until I get notice from the embassy, but I see lots of people saying different things.

    Many thanks

Yes you should be able to schedule your medical, if you have your case number. The recommended advice is to wait until the embassy has your case, but I’m inpatient, and our medical isn’t until July 7th, so any date they have available will be beyond that. Which should (hopefully) be enough time for the NVC to send your case to the embassy.

You can also file your DS-160, as well as notification of applicant readiness if you have gotten all the documents for the interview ready as well.

I am approaching 2 weeks since the NVC gave me our case number. It shouldn’t be much longer for them to send it to the embassy (I hope :/) let me know if you’ve got any questions :)
