going good. nope some stragglers are still trying to cross the finish line along with you. We had the consulate interview next Wednesday but a Brazilian truckers union strike has crippled fuel supply in Brazil. the airports are closed and the freeways blocked by strikers... looks like July probably for us after an interview reschedule now... amazing our bad luck

I would like to announce that we just got our visa approved yesterday  after 359 days lol 

Yea I usually get a reply within 1 business day...sometimes the same day. Yup, they took her police certificate and birth certificate. I'm like they only have to take 3 certificates and still mess up on that. My fiancé is like don't say anything let them go through the paperwork and figure out what they need. I will give them until Thursday then send another email.

I born Christian and when me and my wife got married, no one pushed the others to convert. But then I had to convert, it happened after the marriage not before because her government crimininalized her by committing apostasy, marrying against Islamic laws is a crime in SA. If my wife and daughter are still Muslims in SA eyes, so it wouldn't be a problem. My wife and daughter are not Muslims anymore in SA Islamic law. That's the problem. So in USA eyes we are Muslims, but we are infidel in SA laws. That's not fair at all. No wonder why atheists became atheists. So to be honest, me and my wife need to rethink about having a religion in our life because of what it made up ending right now.

I would check later today because its possible your status will be changing to issued if the date updated. That means someone touched and is working on your case. I would say if not today by Monday you should have good news. 

It is what it is at this point, but try to look at the bright side.  This was a stupid mistake that can easily be corrected.
 
Yes, it has delayed Reni a bit more from coming the U.S., but HE IS COMING!  He will be here before the end of the month.

I doubt theres little on this site that couldn't be construed as legal advice... And the best legal advice i would like to now give to all VJ participants, Dont get a lawyer unless you have serious hurdles to clear. Or if your not a native english speaker, I can see this would be a serious impediment to going this process alone.

You telling me! I just hope the status is updated online. USCIS still has our case as "received" smh so I don't put a lot of faith in online updates. I sent an email just now so once I hear something back I think Ii will breathe easier.

Hi all! My fiance received his k1-visa on Wed 5/9. He was not notified it was ready for pick up. He had gotten a new passport since opening the account and they still had the old passport number on file, which is why he didn't receive notification. He decided to go to the office where passports are delivered, because he had a feeling the passport would be there. It had been sitting there for the past two days 
 
We're so happy to finally have his visa in hand. His flight to the U.S. is on 6/10. We are patiently waiting until then. If anyone had told me it would take nearly a year for this K1 to process, I wouldn't have believed them. I can't wait for him to get here so we can move on to the next chapter.

infopass appointments are useless as well. There is nothing you can do, except relax... and every person who corralates that last thing they did to the approval they finally got drives us all to insanity and thinking we need to actively be working somehow. this machine will not be coerced, it was set up that way. and there is zero accountability for the workers from us applicants. sucks but the honest truth.

inquiries are useless. they said my case would be adjudicated in 45 days... several times. the good news they get to everyone eventually and in my experiences being the very very last of an entire month it seems the very last are all approved. what sucks is watching people who applied 5 months after you fly through to approval before you while complaining about the length of process to boot. its all relative, and relaxing is the only healthy option for mind and body. this process can literally end strong relationships and make you sick. you have to gain acceptance or it will drive you to bad places. keep in mind if your really unlucky you could have 5 more months to go, prepare for the worst, daily fretting compounds your mental situation

nothing will help... except relaxing. the good news a delay does not correlate to declined in fact you would already be declined if they were going to. The bad news there zip you can do and no reason you got screwed with the slow boat shuffle. congressmen and senators just will cause your anxiety to increase as will the ombudsman.

10 months before noa2 right here. over 1 year to interview... some are just unlucky
