  1. citizen here :)

passed my test and interview on 5/9 and have to go back for oath on 5/20.

the test itself was really not that bad, but he asked me how i came to the us, so i told him with the k1 visa

so he asked me a bunch of things about my marriage and divorce, and my ex husband, and since my guts told me, i just brought my pile of evidence from my divorce documents (150+ pages of him cheating...) and told him that i would not see this as fixable, and that i decided it would be better for me to separate from him and get a divorce. he was shaking his head while reading through these pages and asked me a few additional things like where he works, how old his son is, how i feel today about him.... then he asked me about my life, where i work, how long i've worked there, what i like about my life here (i said i became a single fostermama and just got the great news that i will adopt my current babyboy within the next 6-12 months) and he asked for some photos of him.

he started writing some stuff on his paper and then said i should wait outside, a lady would come and call my name to let me know when i have to come back. i'm like back for another interview? and he's like no for your oath! so i said oh wait so i passed? he said oh yeah congrats :) haha

it was pretty easy and besides the 2 hours drive really not a big deal. i wish they would have done the same day oath to save that 4 hour travel time but oh well.

It’s 100 questions from version 2008…. I would highly recommend the app named citizen now …. It got flash cards for 100 questions plus reading n writing questions and it’s pretty easy to study n remember the questions with flash cards

oh great - thanks so much for that input! i will look into that and download it :)

  3. ok now my confusion officially has begun - just saw that my status changed overnight,

but not to what we expected, but it says "9 days ago, ready to schedule interview..."

stay calm - staaaaay calm!!!! 🤷‍♀️

additional info: until last night the status showed "interview has been scheduled" since oct 15,

and it's interesting how they can adjust the date now to nov 21, although it wasn't updated on 21,

and we finished the interview.... big questionmark

  4. I have a question regarding the Interview at USCIS:

the invite letter states what to bring as they request. So I have found 2 points that are not totally clear to me:

    - All Documents establishing your eligibility for Lawful PermanentResidency status

    >>> what should that be? K1 visa in passport? approval letter for k1?

    - Original and copy of each supporting document that you submitted with your application. Otherwise, we may keep your originals for our records

    >>> each document that we sent in from K1 application until now? or what should that be?

  5. hi everyone - i was a bit MIA because my fam/friends were in town for my birthday and now i am back on track with life.

buuuut what i realised is: i have had my EAD now for almost a month and I went to a buuuunch of interviews and nothing has happened.

I don't know if it's because of my different background and that I'm not a local, but.. I expected this to be way easier!

If I count it all together, I applied at probably 35 - 40 jobs (even jobs that would be just temporary to find something better).

Also, here in Savannah there are certainly not a looot of jobs out that match my criteria, so.. it is honestly a bit frustrating.

I expected to get the work authorization and immediately find a job, but... now realizing that was not realistic!

so just saying, prepare yourself mentally that you may not immediately get a job, to not be disappointed and all that!!!

My husband keeps motivating me that it'll come soon, and I try to believe him. I guess it's just frustrating for me as I never

had issues finding a job, but now I do... :(

I gotta tell you that to one point i was mad @Swissmiss82 @Paul & Mallory, because they even got interview before we even got EAD. Unreal. Not their fault, but we can breathe now finally. Hopefully everybody else here gets their EAD soon also. No driving or even taking advantage of some of the state owned facilities that only residents get i.e. Fishing license, hunting license and such. In rural Alabama there is literally nothing to do. My wife is free of being chainballed to the apartment.

i am sooo glad to hear you got EAD!!! ❤️

i fully understand how mad you were, cos i know that feeling... but at the same time, we all know how it is not fair at this process

and they just do whatever they want... i am just happy it worked out for you and you got EAD :) finally!!!! let's go with all the next steps :D

For those of us still waiting and unaware of this, create an account on this website: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ !

I got the recommendation while still waiting for NOA2 of my I-129F that this website gives more details than the USCIS case tracker (web page).

On the USCIS case tracker, my original I-129F still shows as "received", same for my currently pending AP.  When logged into the account, it shows my I-129F as approved (incl date), as well as received date (plus details) of my AP, plus more info on my AoS and EAD.

Unfortunatley it doesn't do any of the goodness with me on this site...

My K1 status is still showing as "case received", my GC says "Fingerprint review completed" although I had a RFE in between

and now it is since 2 weeks on "Ready to scheudle interview" andddddd

my EAD/Travel shows as received, although I have the card in my hand...

Not sure if it really is accurate with everyone, but for sure not with 1 of my 4 cases lol

@Swissmiss82Congratulations on getting your EAD and even better, successfully getting through a phone interview. All the best for your face-to-face interview. :)

thanks a lot, it makes me speechless still..

i think the best of that part is to finally get the driving licence an "feel" free with being able to find a job and drive to work :)

hope everyone gets good news this week too!
