Yes, it is allowed.
Many of us have done so. I visited several times during the process. No problem at all.

Yes, same inMinneapolis. I also always have to have ‘the chat’ after the machines. Both lines have to still do that at MSP.

If you enter using an ESTA from a visa waiver process, most of the time you will use the automated passport control gate .. no contact at all with CBP officers unless the system flags something, which most times it doesn’t

Hi,
They didn’t ask to see the letter or for any evidence! He simply passed through normally after having his passport scanned. Only question he was asked by a customs officer was the purpose of his visit, to which he said visiting his wife and in-laws.
Hope that helps.

My husband did this a few weeks ago. He had his ESTA renewed, brought a letter from our attorney stating he was not intending to stay and adjust status, and evidence of his return ticket. He wasn’t questioned. Customs and visit went smoothly. Best of luck!

Yes, multiple times even. Around 6 times during the CR1 process (and also around 6 times before).
I also managed to renew my Esta while my CR 1 was being processed (my Esta was about to expire), no issues whatsoever. If you have a good track record, you will be fine.

That would be good. You could also bring a copy of the NOA 1 (and 2 if you already have it). And remember, answer honestly that you will visit your spouse when they ask etc. 👍🏻

Yes, it’s fine. Bring evidence for ties to your home country in case they want to see it to be able to decide that you will not overstay.
It does not matter in which stage you are.

Yes, you can. Just be prepared to convince the border officers that you will return to your country after the visit.

Just the questions that I've listed above. I've heard that they often ask if you've ever overstayed in the USA before.

Also...here is a list from the US government of suggested documents that you might want to have when visiting:

Check out this thread:
Most of it should be applicable to CR1 even though it is in the K1 section.

Hi! So far I've done it twice during my application process. 4 times in total since we got married. I've had no issues. Make sure you have a return flight booked. If you're really concerned, you can get a letter from your employer stating you have to return to work by a certain date. Know exactly what address you'll be staying at, how many days, and know the previous dates you've visited the United States- also knowing how many days those trips were.
I've never been denied entry, but definitely asked those questions. BE HONEST at the border. Tell them you'll be visiting your spouse.
Hope this helps!

People have visited America with an on going petition successfully, so it's really down to you to take that gamble. We were unsure and rang and asked the border patrol because I wanted to visit last Christmas, but even with work ties etc they said it was better to just wait as entry isn't guaranteed. We decided to just take their advice And have my husband visit me in the U.K instead. Uk border was absolutely fine with him coming over here on a one way and stamped his passport for 6 months, he left in March just gone. Now our process is almost over and hopefully I'll be able to go back there in the next few weeks. I say it's down to you. I just didn't want to get turned down. It's a long flight lol

DannyT1991 reacted to Wuozopo in Police certification question
This is what your consulate in London requires:
See their web page https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/family-immigration/required-documents/
Police Certificates for Other Countries (if applicable)
Police certificates are required for all countries where you have lived for more than 12 months since the age of 16 and any country where you have been arrested, even if you were not resident there.
U.S. police certificates are not required.
Police certificates from certain countries are unavailable or are obtained directly by this office. Fingerprints are required for certain countries. A list of UK police stations who can provide fingerprinting services is available from the Embassy website, here (PDF – 337kb). Foreign police certificates are valid indefinitely, unless you have returned to reside in that country or has been arrested since the issuance of the certificate.

You'll need it to send to NVC. Keep your certified copy and submit a photocopy of it. Take the certified copy to the interview in case they want to inspect it. You may well need it later but not as a part of the visa process.
