Unfortunately, there is no rhyme or reason to how these cases are being reviewed and approved. It definitely depends on the work load for each field office.
I mailed our AOS package on Nov. 20th. We have a Nov 23rd receipt date and a Nov 29th NOA1 date.
The EAD was a approved April 9th. The status change to Card Produced April 23rd...a status notification was received again April 29th with no actual status update. May 2nd - the card has been mailed.
The AP case still shows Case Approved as of April 9th. I've heard; however, my husband will receive a combo card for EAD/AP.
The AOS case has been 'Ready to Schedule Interview' since February 14th.
We are praying for delivery of this work card in the next week.

My thoughts are with those still waiting for their NOA2.
My fiance and I had our interview on July 9th. We are waiting for the visa to be processed.
We provided all requested documents. My fiancé has twins. Although we've expressed they are not expected to follow…we were asked to provide their birth certificates to be processed (the NVC creates cases for children of the beneficiary).
In hindsight, I can see why the consulate would want their info…in case something happens to the mother.
I was quite frustrated because I felt like we should have been notified to have the birth certificates for the children whether they plan to follow or not. We would have had the documents at the interview and would not have been delayed in the having the visa processed.
Good news, is we are approved…documents were received for processing. The CEAC site shows that the case has been updated twice last week.
We're praying for the issued visa this week.
I extended my stay a whole week hoping he'd be able to travel with me. Unfortunately, that did not happen.
God willing…we will be blessed with the visa this week. In God's time….we are thankful to be able to receive the visa.
Praise God!!! Our visa was issued today!!!
So thankful!!! I am excited to have him here to help finish our wedding planning!!!

We were given a paper that said to submit the birth certificates for the children for processing upon which the visa will be processed.
Our status is Administrative Processing.
It's a little irritating to have the i's dotted and t's crossed and still something be thrown at you out of thin air.

I talked with the NVC this morning. In which, I was told that the NVC should not have created cases for them since K2 visa petitions were not submitted.
An additional spend of $1k and 3 weeks later, I am instructed to send an email/letter to embassy explaining error of NVC and send request to remove the children and issue visa.
I was also told a letter requesting further proof that he is their father was sent last week. The birth certificate with his id # wasn't enough? Good gracious people!

Are you doing K2(s)? If so, did you provide the BC(s) in the initial file? Unfortunately, AP is indefinite. There is not set time period that they have to get out of AP. But if you provided all the requested info then it should not take long.
We did not submit k2s

Just wait for a week-2 week. If there is no update, you can try contact your embassy
We are in week 3. I sent an email to the embassy and they sent me a prewritten response. They didn't look in the case because the last updated date did not change.
I'll give it another week to send another inquiry.
-
We mailed the afternoon of the interview (7/9). The embassy received the documents the next day (7/10).
The case was updated 07/16 and 07/18 (no status change).

There is lots of people experience administrative review/processing. The time waiting is vary. No one can give you the exact answer. Did you get any paper after the interview? What is stated on that paper?

It's been a long time coming, but I am so happy to say that I am leaving to visit my fiancé tomorrow. We will attend the interview Monday morning. God willing, we will be returning to the states TOGETHER next weekend!
Thanking Him in advance.

The DS160 tooltip instructions say specifically that they want the number issued by USCIS, but I believe most people agree that either number is linked to your case and will work. We used our WAC# and have received packet 4 so it works.
Apologies for misspeaking....thank goodness the case number is linked to the receipt #. There hasn't been a snag in the process and our interview is in a few weeks.

Question. for the ds 160, do you use you wac number or NVC number?
The DS160 wants the NVC#. I completed the DS160 while the papers were in transit to the NVC. I used the WAC as a placeholder, but changed it to the NVC # once the case # was assigned.

We had an email from them saying that our case was in transit, and when I checked the following day our status said ready. As soon as that status changed, I completed my DS160, and booked my medical and interview. I didn’t wait.
I had the same experience.

He said the person did not ask too many questions. They asked him when he visited me and what we did while he was there. They barely asked to see all the pics that we had, just accounts of what we did when we visited each other. I will get more details when I get to talk to him more.. i was enroute to work and he was going to get things settled for his flight.
Congratulations!!

Did you get a Packet 3 letter from the Embassy with all their requirements for the interview?
Do you know what to do now that you have your case number?
We received an email. Is that email considered "packet 3"?
If not, then no.

I can't believe how quickly the process speeds up once the papers are at the NVC.
It seems like I was just awaiting the NOA2 in agony. Suddenly, we've scheduled our interview and pre-work almost complete.
Thank God…for everything. Special thanks to @Pedro0319 I truly thank God for you and your support!

hey there!i think you can try and call. I just get my nvc number.
You should fill out the DS160 out while the papers are in transit to the NVC. You can update the NVC once received. I was able to move through the process quickly because the online application had been completed and saved online.
