Just read through about 6 pages of new posts. I started a new job a few weeks ago and have been traveling a ton. My husband (the applicant) just got a new job at whole foods, so first time he will fill out employment info with his new green card! Just wanted to say CONGRATS to all of you who have been approved over the past few weeks (seems like a good number of people) and for the few in DC who just got notified of their interviews! I will say that it seems like everyone who started in this original group is finally coming to the end of this horrible process! It's a huge relief. Congrats to everyone!

We had our interview today. We (with lawyer) arrived at 9am and wasn’t called until just after 11. We were interviewed by trainee and trainer. It started off with the swearing in and verifying of documents. Then we started going through the the I-485 line by line. It wasn’t robotic at all. We actually talked about how we met and other personal stories and events as we went through the application. It all felt organic. We felt very comfortable and joked back and forth. The interview lasted about 1hr 45. It really felt faster.
It took so long  because we both have previous marriages and my wife had a previous AOS which was throughly discussed.
When the interview was over my lawyer asked if they felt that marriage was bona fide or if we needed to provide further evidence. The trainer said that they felt comfortable with the evidence and they would review documents and we should something over the next couple of days.

All in all, it was a very good interview. My stepsons have their consulate interview next month so the timing has been perfect: We were hoping we both could go down to Ecuador and bring them here. We should have the card in hand before then.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences. It really helps. This forum is an excellent tool in the immigration process.

Best of luck to all !

    Update on our case:

Got the text yesterday that my husband's green card is being produced, and a text this morning that his I-485 is officially approved! Hooray!

It's been almost exactly 30 days since our interview on Jan 7th when they informed us that they were still missing his medical packet, but we otherwise passed the interview. I'm just relieved they found it and aren't going to force him to redo his medical!

Good luck to everyone in our March batch! Your GCs will be coming soon! 🙂

Just got my green card in the  evening, the status still card was mailed . By the way what I wanted to say, they just threw a letter under the door.  Seriously, priority letter under the door?  is this normal ?!  People always walking through my floor, for washing their clothes, or it’s garbage collectors...Who knows what could happen  ..

    Hi,

first of all congratulations to all of you who got their GC already.
We had our interview almost 3 weeks ago in San Jose. The IO was very nice, just asked a me about my husbands middle name and his birthday, then she asked me some questions which were asked in the DS 160 and how we met and when the relationship started. Then she told us that my medical is missing (must got lost somewhere, the embassy in Germany definitely had it) and that we have not a lot of assets together (as we live with my husbands parents at the moment all bills for example are in their names). She told us that she doesn't doubt on our bona fide marriage but she has to give our case to her supervisor for review. I really was devastated. I checked almost hourly our case status online and yesterday finally it said card is being produced, today it changed to case is approved. I'm so relieved.

So everybody else who had their interview in San Jose ( I saw that there are at least 3 other ones) and didn't get the approval right away... there is hope. Hang in and good luck!!!

Waited until an SMS that said it would be delivered 1-2pm. So went back inside after the status was updated to 2pm to 4pm. At 1pm-ish got a text that said it had been delivered.  We ran outside and the carrier was still distributing mail. Waited until she delivered a large package to the resident’s door while her truck was parked. And the magic envelope was there.

I carefully opened the envelope with letter opener and let Iris do the honors   Here green card was there.  Everything looks correct.

The bonus is that the date of issue and thus the date of expiry is the day of the interview. So that lets us apply for ROC and eventually citizenship about ten days sooner than we hoped.

Joy and relief on this day, America’s true national holiday.  Go Chiefs.

See you on the October 2021 ROC filers thread.

Today we were in an interview.  I apologize for my English and mistakes.  Therefore, we took an interpreter with us.  Staff was very friendly, for a long time I didn’t  understand why they asked me to rub my forehead with my fingers, then I realized to make my fingerprints more visible.  We got to a very good officer, she is perfect, very friendly, in first minute she told me - so, I don’t need your interpreter , you will answer yourself if you need you can ask her (it was lunch time, I think she wanted to go to lunch as soon as possible  🙂).  The officer told me - relax, everything is fine.  She asked about our history, sincerely rejoiced ( we met in Facebook).  Questions were about parents' names, dates, address, how we met, when we decided to get married.  The whole interview took 15 minutes, she gave a paper and said that we need to wait 120 days, said don’t  worry, we have a rules, maybe much earlier.  Two hours later, the status changed to the new card is being produced .  I am sure that we were very lucky with the officer, she is so friendly.  Thank you so much officer!  I wish everyone to meet an officer like she ❤️

Just finished our interview. We were there about an hour ahead of our time and they took our paperwork. I didn't realize they would ask for additional paperwork at the front desk so I had to go up 3 times with more stuff 😂 the lady was polite and friendly and we basically talked more about deers, seafood and our dogs than our actual application. She didn't ask any questions about our marriage or relationship. Nor did she ask about income. We went over my visas and I stumbled a little bit bc I had a hard time understanding her accent. She did question why I didn't study in England instead of the US and I said that the field I was in (autism) my education and work experience was more attractive since all our practices in Sweden stems from the US. She seemed to think that made sense.I did manage to see her notes that said "good bona fide marriage" and then she went over all the forms. I had forgotten to answer like 5 of the questions on there and I said our wedding date wrong, that it was October 17 and not 14 but in my head I was thinking of 2017. She made copies of our passports, drivers license and health insurance and my ead. She didn't say anything about approving us or when we'd hear for a decision so we are still in limbo. She didn't ask for photos so I asked if she wanted any and handed about 20 to them and the first picture was of us and our dog so we chatted even more about the dogs. Then she just said thank you and sent us on our way. It felt like it went well but I have no idea!

    🤞🏼

    Hi Guys,

We just got back from our AOS interview about an hour ago.
Our appointment was scheduled to 7.:15 am but we got there around 6.40 and they let us into the building. At 6.40 there were already about 40 people in the waiting room. We had to go to a window and give them the appointment letter, they took a picture about me and had to give a fingerprint then we had to wait.
We've been waiting for an hour, an older IO called my name first and then said my husband's name as well at 7:43 am. He shaked our hand with a big smile on his face then he said let's go to the copy machine so he can make a copy of my driver's licence, my EAD and my husband's drivers license and while he made the copy he was talking about the ROC. Then we followed him into his office.
At the office there was our pile on his table but before we sat down he asked us to take an oath about we are going to say the truth.
After we sat down he started to he asked us if we ever saw the movie called Green card with Andie MacDowell and Gérard Depardieu. I told him that I've seen it many times and my husband said he never saw that movie. Then the IO started to tell us the story about the movie. And then he was talking about that he is working for 25 years now for the USCIS and he has seen so many things, so many frauds during the years and the reason for the AOS 2 year green card is because of the lot's of frauds. He told us that unfortunately he can't give me the 10 year green card, just the 2 years and then he explained everything about the ROC. After all this he opened our file and started a few "YES" and "NO" questions. He didn't ask all of them, just a few and then he started to go over on every single page that we filed. EVERYTHING!!! He highlited our names on every page and said "for the ROC you'll need to have lots of documentation with both of your names again". When he was done with all the pages he asked us if we had filed the 2019 Tax already. I suddenly said "YES" and started to look for it and I couldn't find it and I started to freak out and looked at my husband who just smiled to me. And the IO told him "you can correct her" and my husband told me "honey, we didn't do the tax yet" and both my husband and the IO started to laugh and the IO told me to calm down and don"t panic there is nothing wrong.
After that the IO asked me if I have anything new that I want to add to our case. I gave him our 2 new cars DMV registration, the 2 insurances, my husband's 401(k) with my name on it, all the bills, phone talk activities, hotel reservations.
I asked him if he want's to see any pictures and he said "sure, I love pictures". He chose 4 of them and he said he only cares about the pictures where he can clearly see the background which is not our living room or dining table. He wanted to see the Sequoia sign behind us, and the Arizona State sign etc. He said that's all he cares about to see that we are traveling together. He also said that he has seen PHOTOSHOPPED pictures with others!!!
At the end he asked where and how we met, when did we start to date, when did we got married and when did we move in together.
Then he said we are approved, and he congratulated to us and wrote a paper by hand with the date on it (10/31/2021) when we can apply for the ROC. He gave us the approval paper (the app hasn't change yet) and a ROC paper with all the information in it.

We spend 35 minutes in his office but he barely asked anything from us, he was talking most of the time about the fake marriages (which freaked me out because why did he talked about fake marriages that much?????).
I feel so relieved right now and I need some sleep because I couldn't in the last few days.
I guess I'll see you some of you at the ROC but I"ll keep reading the rest of you AOS interview experiences!!!
    GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!

We called in today, 5AM Local 8AM eastern, Tier 1 wasn't helpful told us we should wait 30 days and for some reason was asking for our Bio Appt. date. Asked to be transferred to a Tier 2 and about 30min later they called back, the Tier 1 failed to forward any info to them so we went through the song and dance once more and finally got our Interview date. It seems it was sent this past thursday and is set for Feb 20th! Such a relief, he said if we don't get it in 7 days to call back and they'll email it....But as luck may have it, it arrived in the mail today.  Now to do some final preparations.

We interviewed on January 16, in San Jose, and so after @dittoditto despite what their timeline ( https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=325336 ) says (January 19, 2020).

After seeing the above, I was bummed we didn't get any notice for days about the decision. But then again, this is the AoS from K-1 mega thread, and the aforementioned timeline is an AoS from a F-1 visa. A considerably different situation (when I had my AoS from F-1 status, I too was approved the same day; at the interview in fact, but that was back in the 1980s).

But this morning we have the attached status update and we are obviously overjoyed. Iris passed her behind the wheel test at a DMV many miles from us (thanks for your efficiency California DMV) after a 6 month wait for her appointment. So this has been a banner month for us. Much appreciation to Visa Journey for the wisdom; Iris is one of the few K-1s to have a 5 year REAL ID state ID, and that is due solely to Visa Journey.

And FWIW, we did use a lawyer. She was invaluable for avoiding an RFE that would have totally confused us.

See you in the October 2021 removal of conditions mega thread and the October 2022 N-400 mega thread. I'm betting Iris will have the latter interview first.
