When you Google (I live in Lane County so I Google for my assigned senator for the county) and link to their webpage. They should have a drop down menu under "services" where you can choose "help with a government agency" and mine specifically calls out USCIS. I then fill out the online form with my concern, case history and my request for their support with correcting the case backlog and discrepancy between the Nebraska center (9-12mths) and Potomac (3-4mths). After you submit they will have an aid contact you in 24-48hrs to request that you sign a form giving them permission to contact USCIS on your behalf. They will then take a week or so to reach out and get back to you. There will be no specific action on your case but they'll start to get the point at Nebraska when the senate liaison gets a ton of complaints. The more senators that get involved for unhappy constituents the more noise it will make. If your state doesn't work like mine just submit a request online or by email and start by asking them who represents you need on your ZIP code and what is the procedure to get help with a USCIS issue. They will guide you through the process happily (because they are elected by our votes). I hope this helps!!

Thank you so much for such detailed response. Unfortunately I am a beneficiary with lots of time on my hands, but I am of no use for this (((( My husband works and I am afraid they will contact them when he is at work and he will not be able to respond (. But we shall try anyways. Thank you again!

Looks great!! My senator admin just emailed me that "the whole of USCIS is in process of case load balancing. While we cannot request transfer of your specific case you may receive a transfer via this process."

Keep pushing folks because every senators office has a liaison at the Nebraska service center and they'll get the point soon enough.

Oh my friend we share the same pain and similar story. My husband is South Indian and we've been fighting this system since Oct 2016 (denied visitor visa) through the K1 process (indefinite AP) and now waiting yet again through the CR1 process. I have spent over $20,000 US Dollars that could have/should have been invested in my own economy. It's a sad world today where policy doesn't account for the humanity, or lack thereof, or economic impact of these decisions. We all want to follow the process and be legitimate but the processing time it inexcusable.

*** I urge everyone who reads this to Google your local senator and find their contact form on their website to send a message requesting help with the extensive processing times at the Nebraska service center. They WILL contact you back within a weeks time and request your statement, spouse information and signature so they can contact the USCIS liaison. ***

    You are absolutely right!!

I just had this conversation today with my senators aid and the Nebraska liaison reported back with a 10-month average processing time. I asked her to look into it further and push because there are thousands stuck in those process and it's hurting families, finances and futures that build a better America.

We've been in the process since August 2017 and changed from K1 to marriage and CR1 in November after "indefinite AP" after interview. I think the hardest part for me is knowing that it's still up to the interviewing officer at the embassy regardless of approvals at USCIS & NVC.

    It breaks my heart...

I file my wife I 130 on 18th January 2019 and received NOA 1 on the 22nd January 2019. Can't wait for this process to finish I heard it would take at least 6 to 9 months to approve. Hope USCIS work faster because I we have to travel 5 to 6 times a year to see each other. It is very expensive and very difficult to keep a long distance relationship for years. Wish they would understand what we go through.

Where are you located currently (in India)? I travel back and forth between Oregon and my husband in Tumkur (Bangalore) or to see friends in Pune. You should receive a formal receipt via mail but you know how that goes in India. You could call USCIS and ask them by phone and they'll gladly provide it if there's been any confusion.

How long will your process take being abroad?

Starting the thread for January 2019 Filling - been through this process on the K1 journey all the way through an interview at the Mumbai Embassy last April 2018. We were stuck in AP and had a rare chance to spend 45-days together so we jumped ship and married in India (Nov 24th). So, here we are again going through the same process and praying that it goes faster.

Mailed: Dec 26th (tracked delivery on Dec 28th)
    Notification: Pending
    NOA1 & Service Center: Pending

I'm praying that it goes faster than the projection on my timeline. We just spent the last 18mths in the K1 process all the way to embassy and married after 8mths in AP.  It's crazy to think we're 8000+ miles apart and buying our first house together this week (he's just not allowed in the country where we own the home ha ha ha)!! 🙄

    Exactly @geowrian!

Most do just fine and have approval same day, go into AP a few days to a week, while they process the ppwk and finalize the record, then the Visa is issued. Those with male fiance in India should be extremely prepared with supporting documents and those with complicate scenario (like us) can go through AP for an "undetermined" amount of time after the interview. I only share our story because I didn't know or understand that we'd have a hard time so we weren't emotionally ready for the extended delay. I wish I knew then what I know now lol!!

Passport is in outer pouch so you can open to get passport. Then there is a large envelope inside mail envelope with warning "Do not open"!! You'll understand once received just read instructions on package well.

I believe so but don't worry because when you print off the form for counter deposit on payment page it has a space for them to fill in for you. The bank (only Axis and one other option) have a form and hand you back your and the receipt. They know the process well and it's super clear after you pay. I can't remember exactly what ours looked like but will post if I can find a copy.

    Reminder from our case story...

SCHEDULE APPT WITH REGIONAL PASSPORT OFFICE TO GET POLICE CLEARANCE (local not accepted for residents and passport will be required)!! Its 100rs fee to schedule online and you get same day as appointment.

Call NEVC or email to confirm because I remember Rele Clinic giving Prasad a hard time and he said "This is all we have and they told us this is acceptable!" They finally accepted after strong prompting.

When we finally received P4 it was just instruction doc for next steps and a copy of all our personal documents. You can find it online for India at https://in.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/71/2017/02/Packet-4-IV-Approved-version.pdf. I didn't know this at the time so you should print this out with your appointment confirmation and that should be acceptable.

Also, in Mumbai any extra guest must wait in hallway during check-in but after they started they brought all friends or family to large reception room in office next door with air conditioning and water. It was fun to visit with parents of another applicant and took about a 2hr wait. I showed them this site and all the tricks to answer their questions online.

Have a fun time my friends!!!

I'm headed "home" to Bangalore for a month on Monday to see Prasad and work remote, make a quick business trip to Pune and possibly...maybe....get married if we still don't have K1 approval by Nov 1st (applied Aug 2017 and in AP since April 2018). We know it's a 50/50 but hard to get away for 30-days so thinking about just doing it and switching to CR1 at this point. We might have to flip a coin to decide lol!!
