Slim213 reacted to Steffilein in Think carefully before you marry a Nigerian, I regret doing so!
I know that there is a bad reputation of Nigerians in general and i was also very careful in the beginning of our relationship but i don't think that it is rite to say all of them are a certain way. my Fiance is originally from Nigeria and in our case he is the petitioner however he has always treated me with respect and always made me feel very special and proved his love so many times for me i am very thankful that i met him . But what i actually want to say is that i find it somehow ignorant to put all Nigerians in the same pot.

    Quite....
Not a competition I really want to win, or frankly even entered into...but yes, it is somewhat ridiculous at almost 9 years at this point. Admittedly that is three filings, but that just adds to the sheer ridiculousness of the situation.

To the OP, get yourself a cup of tea and a good book. You are going to be waiting a while - there is a reason they are currently issuing four year extension letters.

It's all over the place.....I have seen cases approved anywhere from a few weeks to 44 months. (My wife's case was 44 months- NO RFEs). Filing for citizenship has bumped some (like ours).

Hope so. It's crazy to me people were paying $20k-$30k for this! That alone sounds shady.

You are entitled to your opinion.Nigeria is the most populous African nation. It’s considered high fraud because of some bad elements. There are more honest Nigerians out there.56% of black doctors in USA are Nigerians. You can’t pick out an entire country and assume everyone is dishonest.

    1. IMHO no. Where you sleep matters and that is my interpretation of the law.

    2. Same as number 1 to me. No

    3. I believe you would be fine if you apply February 21, because the majority of your days in the previous 3 months would be in your state of residence. Assuming you stay inside your state continuously from Jan 1 to Feb 21.

    4. For each trip, the form asks for the date you departed the U.S. and date you returned to the U.S. If you are not in the U.S. on the day you file, I do not understand what day you will enter for the day of return. So, no. At least not without perjury.

Just make sure to use "I-751" (not 1751 etc) when referring to your case in communication with USCIS, congressman.

You can try everything. It won't hurt, but WoM is the most effective method as of today.

I'd file WoM. As @Mike E said there's a great chance IO may be hoping you'll give up once all the extensions etc run out.

I wouldn't be surprized if N-400 interview results in "Decision cannot be made" due to pending I-751.

From what it seems, it's worth getting I-751 resolved to unblock N-400.

I have a friend same situation (weird they are from Nigeria also and had to switch to divorce waiver). She filed one month after my husband which was June 2018. She just had her N-400/I-751 interview 2 weeks ago. Yes filed in 2018.
There's was filing  I-751, getting divorced. moving from one state to another, transferring case. But finally after many e-request finally. Still not approved still waiting for I-751 to get approved. It's like it's stuck like yours. Hang in there. Hope you don't have to file WOM.

Highly possible. She was schizophrenic, tried to get me back for almost a year.Apologizing incessantly but it wasn’t healthy as it became abusive. Her dad and siblings wrote me Notarized affidavits stating the abuse (which was included in the divorce waiver application).Have video evidence of the abuse plus audio of her stating if she can’t have me no one else would lol
