Not sure if this is the correct forum to ask this question.  Our NOA2 was approved today, and I am not sure what to do next.  Can someone suggest a good thread to read about the next step after NOA2 approval?  Thanks in advance.

This is what I was suggested, it has lots of useful info for the next steps:  https://sites.google.com/view/post-noa2/home

  2. @Little_Vixen So you already put in the application for your Netherlands police certificate?  Just asking because I was always under the assumption that they want the most up to date one possible, so I wanted to wait after the embassy gets my application, but if two or three months before the interview is enough, I sure as hell wanna go get my certficate and have one less thing I have to get done :D

  3. I emailed the Embassy in Belgrade asking if I could recieve instructions on their stage of the process (hoping they would maybe send me the packet 3 checklist) but they just replied with saying that I should recieve something from them once my petition reaches them

@Greenbaum  do you know if there is a checklist for Belgrade embassy here on VJ,  like the one you sent saeric for the embassy in Lagos?

The focus should be on what will it take to put all your "ducks in a row"  for the CO.  In addition, you'll need someone with 125% later in your journey anyway....Good Luck.

Exactly, I know we would need one for AOS anyway.

Since we are now waiting for our petition to go to NVC, we won't revieve any letter from them? I'm assuming that's why we have to call and ask for the NVC number, in order to get a jumpstart on the medical and everything else, so we can schedule the interview as soon as possible

  5. I gotta say, after we have reached the coveted 180 day mark, and it being 6 months today since USCIS recieved date, the anxiousness is starting to kick in. I was always betting on going 200+ days before any news, but knowing they are so close to starting my date (dec 22), it really feels like the full weight of everything we have been waiting for is showing.

I go on VJ at least 5 times throughout the day (especially during the working hours of the CA processing center) just to see if any new members got approvals today, and I am so happy when I see the progress that has been made.

Today we are at day 100 and with the current speed of things I'd say we are over the hump people! Half our waitingtime is over. We can do this!

Finally into the triple digits aswell, I'm thankfull that school  + work is keeping me busy throughout of the day, otherwise I'd lose my mind with the waiting haha :D

Can't wait to see daily scans for our month, watching them for september/october is super exciting B-)

Its hard but still very doable. I am very busy tying up loose ends so when that vis comes in I can MOVE!

I visited him during december and he is coming over in 12 days, 9 ours and 49 minutes.  He'll be staying for two weeks and we'll visit Paris, drive around Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. We'll go visit some friends in the UK. And I'm going to show him all over the Netherlands.

Anyway. We chat a lot. Like, whole pages of texts daily. And that's not to mention the phone and video calls (6 hours yesterday )

Its pretty easy going now. But I think it'll get a lot harder once we hit 180, 190 and 200 days. I can see our fellow filers in May, June, July struggle. It's so hard to watch.

Damn you are lucky, we haven't seen eachother since April last year, and have to wait till the end of June for our next visit. Daily messaging and skyping whenever I can stay up (9 hour difference) is a lifesaver hah.

In two days we hit the two month mark since recieved date, so I'm excited about that at least ^_^

    Hellloooooo Everyone,

For August, I know it feels like things around the corner.

And it is almost, but to give you and everyone a brief look on how things are going.

    Monthly situation;

June      July       Aug      Sept      Oct       Nov       Dec       Total
    Approved 1398 459 13 6   1   1877
    Touched 1050 356 139 129 128 67 28 1897
    Virgins 1221 2595 3519 3176 3770 3304 3297 20882
    Excluded 372 386 404 287 244 205 184 2082
    Total 4041 3796 4075 3598 4142 3577 3509 26738

So we do think June is way ahead of what it looks like especially the virgin numbers, but we do have in vj at least 30 people waiting their noa2s in June.

for July I do also believe we have more approvals than it appears, because there were dates that show no approval updated, yet we know people are getting  their noa2s. (we had lots of that today too!)

The latest date that barely touched in July is July 24

However,we still have lots of early Julies waiting. So they still do have more to go.

I personally expect the July overall to be done next week, and then one more week for July to have its fire.

And this would be the time for June to wrap up, so they can move to August. (my expected due date for August is second week of Feb. alllll fingers crossed)

In February USCIS is going to update their website, which will hopefully show "July 1 as of November 31" which would be the touch for Juners to start inquiries and them to move to August.

    About NVC times

With some irregularities still occurring, NVC almost got back to its normal 2 weeks timeline.

If any delays again occur we will again start to track it!

For now Good luck to all of us!

    Amazing work as always @Naes

It's crazy to think that "just 20.000 more cases and then it's our turn!" haha, but seeing the number of untouched cases drop, and approved cases rise really helps boost the morale.

I'm following so many monthly threads now I can barely keep track of all the new posts! ^_^

  9. Thanks again everyone, you've really put my mind at ease.

I don't think Serbia is considered a super traditional country (as in the parents need to approve of the relationship) so it shouldn't pose a problem even in the slight chance the CO asks, and yea ofcourse I'll tell it like it is, as some of you have said, we're definitelly not the first same sex couple they have had to deal with.

And good look with everyone's journey, today marks one month since our petition was recieved.

My husband is from a homophobic country with religious parents and is here now with his parents thinking he scored a work visa.

It never came up as far as our families' attitudes. He has met some of my family who is supportive. That may have helped as far as pictures are concerned, but I don't know his family.

It likely won't come up, but if the issue is that  you are hiding being gay, you are hiding it regardless of who you are in a relationship with.  Whether someone local or foreign.

Don't worry over it. We did before and it was wasted energy.

Thanks, the whole waiting has had me just thinking of ways something might go wrong, so I've just been worrying about everything now

  11. I apologize in advance if I chose the wrong topic, just didn't know where to put it exactly.

    So, a little background,

We met online in 2015 and have been in an wonderfull relationship ever since, we have gone on two trips together and planing a vacation to Barcelona this summer while we wait for our k1 to be processed (december filer)

We would both really like for him to accompany me to the interview when it comes to that, and also meet my parents and younger brother, but there's a big catch. He is very big on family and would like to meet them at least once and get a picture with them to have as a keepsake. But, here's the problem.

Coming from a very conservative culture and background, my parents have no idea about me being gay, let alone being in a relationship and engaged to my fiance.

The explanation I gave them (and everyone else around me pretty much) is that I got an internship lined up, and that is why I am moving.

My Fiance's mom is very supportive of us, (we chat over skype often), as are all of his friends and familly. I have felt welcomed by them even though I haven't met them yet in person.

My worry is if during the interview the officer asks me what do my parents think of the relationship (I told them that a representative from the company I will be starting the internship in, will come for the interview)

I know telling them outright isn't an option (I'd prefer not to get kicked out of the house and shunned by my whole family), and I have a 12yo brother who I am quite close with, who I probably wouldn't be allowed to contact anymore if I "came out".

I am basically wondering how do I approach the question if it comes up?  You guys have been so helpfull in this whole process, and I am hoping the experience of some VJ members may help shine a light on my situation.

Update of the graphs comparing May and June regarding the length of time from Received to Approved one month later (as to 01/20/2018), this time including July under the same conditions.

As a reminder, in the graphs below I try to compare what happened within the next 190 days after that last day of May, June and July 14th (last day with approvals) received cases. In order to see them clearer I put them together in pairs.

In that time, with a total of 1877, 818 and 243 approved cases (after removing some outliers) respectively:

    • May had a global mean of 175.25 days from Received to Approval date, with a standard deviation of 14.06 days.
    • June had a global mean of 186.05 days from Received to Approval date, with a standard deviation of 9.16 days.
    • July had a global mean of 193.91 days from Received to Approval date, with a standard deviation of 3.28 days.

Even if it doesn't look very good (way less approvals in the same period of time for July and also starting from 185+ days) just remember that, because of the holidays, they haven't worked the same number of days, and more importantly, haven't been very consistent updating approvals, which is why these results only apply to the information it comes from, the unreliable information updated by USCIS.

If they keep the rate of approvals seen in the last days, I believe we'll start seeing a clear improvement in the next one or two months. Let's hope!
