Hello everyone I have been quite sick so I have been away for a bit, so I apologize for the late answer. Today I received my Green Card on the mail and hopefully I am applying next week for citizenship. I thank you all for all the help and support on this stressful process. Hello everyone! Congratulations to all the approvals!!!
I just checked my case online and I have gotten approved myself!
Here it's my timeline:
Date Filed 2019/07/13
NOA 2019/07/22
BIO APPT. 2019/11/22
Aproved 2020/05/12
I had to check on "the old site", because MyUSCIS never really updated. For me it got stuck with "We have received your case, you don't have to do anything..."
Also the "old site" got stuck for ever in "As September 14th, fingerprints has shown to be taken" It did not even updated for when I got my fingerprints' appointment in November.
For all of those still waiting, I wish you all luck, and I hope ya'll get approved soon. I know how difficult and stressful this road is but is totally worth it!
P.S My receipt number was a Texas Center SRC1990, please feel free to ask if you have any question, thank you.

KIRKUVAN L got a reaction from Diane and Chris in Unique situation for B1 tourist visa request.
Hello there, I will try to be the most straight forward and respectful as possible.
My sister was in a similar situation as the individual on question. My parents live here in the USA with one of my siblings, I immigrated to the USA in 2013 when I got offered a job, she married a US Citizen about a 6 years ago, they have children, they live in Finland, and she was an ESTA holder. In 2018 she tried to renew her ESTA and come to the USA but got denied. She had to apply for a tourist visa and got denied and received a 214 letter letting her know about her denial as millefleur mentioned. She applied one more time, until finally her application got approved. For her individual case, a lot changed in a short time as: They opened a new business, her husband got a very good job in Finland, and became a Finnish citizen.
My thoughts for you and them is to apply for a tourist visa, see what happens or perhaps/rather send the grandchild with the US citizen to visit the family since many consulates are closed all over the globe due COVID 19 and the process will take longer than send the grandchild with the dad. If I am being honest her changes to come with a Visa are very slim, she has a history of denial (Which can be hard to overcome), she comes from a high "risk" country, and she does not have strong ties to Colombia and possibly the US immigration officers could have suspicions for her intent to immigrate.
I know the system is complicated. Unfortunately there is not magic way to do it, you just do it, and endure it.
Good luck!

I was on your side until I read this comment. You are quite right that there’s no need to get a 30-year mortgage at 45 if you live in a perfectly adequate place, etc.
You are not doing her a favor by bringing her here. I do hate that arrogant attitude from the USCs who seem to think that we foreign spouses should be eternally grateful and indebted to you because you “rescued” us from our home lands and “gifted” us a better life. Ridiculous. She sounds like she is very self-sufficient with her own career. She owes you nothing. If this is a genuine marriage then bringing her here is just as much for your benefit as it is hers.
Its almost as bad as the immigrants that say “I gave up everything to come here for him/her”. No, you did not. You made a life change that you BOTH wanted and so that you could BOTH live with the person you love. You do it for yourself as much as you do it for the other.
Shes probably better off without you if that’s your attitude.

Completely forgot to update my progress. We had our biometrics on Wednesday the 20th in Atlanta. Got there on the dot, went through security and then sat for about 25 minutes while they ran through 22 people also getting their biometrics done. Pretty easy and painless process, nice employees from the security guard to the lady actually doing the biometrics. We were in at 12 and out by 12:45
