US <3 IND reacted to Mandis in N-400 AUGUST 2020 FILERS
    Hello August Filers,

I am creating this thread so that we can start preparing our N-400 application. I will be sending them on August 1st based on 3 year Marriage and I was wondering what are the requirements . My l-751 was recently approved  and Didn't receive my card yet.

Thanks Everyone let get started. 🙏

The best advice I can provide is not to make any marriage decisions around immigration issues, and also don't make any immigration decisions around marriage issues.

You can file jointly or separately with a divorce waiver. You will need to provide the final divorce decree before ROC can be approved.

Your past overstay and prior employer attempting to sponsor you have no impact on the ROC process.
If you have good evidence of a bona fide marriage, then I wouldn't be too concerned about ROC with a divorce waiver. It's long, slow, and annoying but the overwhelming majority of cases are approved in the end (and having LPR status actually removed if denied is several steps down the line).

Earliest receive date would have been 7/11/2020..........You're OK there........I think the problem is missed signature or signing in the wrong area......but no way to know until you get the package back.

My post is taking on a life of it's own XD

It's been a long weekend, and it's easy especially with the added stress of an application to misinterpret things. But that's just why we are all here to help each other 🙂

This was a response to a question whether or not to include children in your application when they are not co-applicants.

Let'spaintcookies thought there isn't any value in adding this kind of proof here. So what I am sharing here is encouragement for any who do have kids. I think it will be less common these days, but there will still be some for whom it applies.

To clarify, USCIS does not state which types of evidence are more valuable than others. Even the only required document they ask for is the copy of the greencard.

However I have spoken with a few USCIS workers who handle our cases who have said that a child's birth certificate weighs a lot for them. Since I was curious if this was a widespread view in USCIS, I searched online forums for more information, and I found corroboration several times, the most recent of which was this post on visajourney in the June I-751 filers, and where I am quoting 70% from (obv. this is subjective number😞
Having kids should never be done with agendas, since you will likely just end up miserable.

My intent here is to affirm that just like any other type of evidence, this is also a valuable piece to include, if it applies to you, so don't forget to include it if so.

All the best with your applications!

They don't say that anywhere. Having a child is just one factor in proving the legitimacy of a relationship. Obviously, couples must present a myriad of factors together, not just one. It's also up to the IO they get assigned to. One IO might be more lenient towards a couple because there is a kid but a different IO may ask to see more documentation of other things first before approving. And then of course, there are cases of reproductive coercion (where one partner forces the other partner into parenthood to "trap" them into the relationship). This is obviously abuse and the agency is aware that such scenarios happen, so that's why IO's want to see lots of different evidence and don't put all the stock into children. They do not immediately approve all cases of couples with children because they're simply not the end-all and be-all. Some people are childless by choice (I'm in this camp) and others can't have kids due to medical reasons. That's why you need to cover all bases: financial co-mingling, joint ownership of properties and other necessities, listing each other as beneficiaries on insurance policies, proof of travel together and/or going to events together, etc etc.

I did and I included a copy of his birth certificate as evidence of a bona fide marriage.  It asks to list all your children and also asks whether the child resides with you (yes) and if the child is applying with you (no). I like to err on the side of the caution with these forms and so to be safe, I included him.

If you use Adobe Reader to enter the info, it auto-populates this section. It is the USCIS recommended tool...check under Downloading and Printing immigration forms.
As a workaround, when you need to enter alpha-numeric and/or special characters within areas that a restricted to either Alphabets or Numbers - start the form in Adobe Reader, save form as you consistently enter your info..switch to opening the pdf in your browser as your last step (right click in windows explorer/mac finder and open with)..and voila you shall be able to use "N/A" and also fill in "NONE" (for USCIS Online account number or Spouses A number). In fact, I even updated my place of marriage on Page 1 with this format: City, State - USA (coz when you open the form in adobe it says secured and throws a prompt at you saying enter only Alphabets).
You could also easily apply the same to your Apartment number(s)

Can you link where you heard this?

On the USCIS website for i751, under special instructions, it says you can file G-1145 with your ROC application.
    https://www.uscis.gov/i-751

I filed G-1145 with my I-751 about two weeks ago, and received a text yesterday that USCIS received my application. I sent with USPS, so I mailed it to a PO box based on the instructions here:

If you send your package using USPS, you send it to a lockbox that distributes it to service centers. We included G-1145 when filing at the Phoenix lockbox last month and got our text notification.

I completely misunderstood this criteria. I would be living with my US Citizen spouse for 3 years in a few months but I've only been a PR for 2 years. Disregard my silly question 😜😋

Me and my husband agreed with you, we followed their instruction, gave them what evidences they need. The bank statement part, I don't think they need to look at every single month, the pictures they don't need to look at 100 photos. They need to see from the documents showing that every single angle of me and my husband's life merge together, financial and residents occupancy, some life photos, our friends described how they believed our true happy relationship.
Two years ago, when we had the 2 year GC interviews, the whole conversation was so easy, the officer only looked at one photos of we gathered at our US citizen friends house. They went trough so many cases in their career, they could tell who's marriage is true or a lie.

Passport photos are required only when you are filing I-751 from overseas 😊

I have had issue with some of their staff taking bad photos before. Now whenever I need them I just take the pictures myself at home.
That way you can be sure the photo will suit before you take it to print out.

Pro-tip: go to a free online collage maker like https://www.befunky.com/features/collage-maker/
Choose a grid of either 4 or 6 equal squares and put your passport photo into each of the squares. Download and bring it on a USB.
While US passport photo size is 2"×2", Walgreen's ordinary photo sizes are 4"×4" or 4"×6", allowing 4, or 6 copies of the 2"×2" to fit exactly.
One of these photos also only costs you about 35c 😁
