Skatie2k17 got a reaction from GazLisa in Medical - Little to no medical history to bring
Just got back from the medical.
The receptionist asked for "the paperwork".
handed her all items mentioned in the email you get. Including the printed of summary (same as the one you showed).
They never said anything about it, neither positive nor negative. So as far as I can tell - that summary was enough to make them happy in my case. (Nothing to report at all).
Also worth noting - They accepted my little Swedish vaccination booklet as proof of vaccinations, despite it being in Swedish. "We get these all the time from all over the world! I'll just google translate it!".
hope that helps anyone thanks for your help guys! I think the medical went well, but of course I won't know for sure for another week!

I booked mine in London for the 21st. When I booked the only dates that were available to choose were 20,21,25th of July. All three times of the day were available on those dates when I booked on Friday (7th of July). Everything else was greyed out I think. Though honestly I just jumped on the soonest date ASAP! Haha
Amazed i I got an interview date so close :-) got my medical at Knightsbridge on Friday (14th july) too!

I completed the DS-160 form yesterday and ran into what seemed like a bug on the form. The form is long as hell to complete (took over an hour) as they ask for a lot of information. Anyway, at a certain point when completing the form, it asks you to upload a photo and the website uses some kind of recognition software to decide if the photo is fit for purpose and accepted, or is declined.
The first photo I uploaded was declined as I think the lighting wasn't great. I uploaded another photo which was accepted, however I then got stuck on the photo confirmation page and couldn't move onto the next step. The 'Next' button was visible on my screen but was greyed out and wouldn't respond.
I tried saving and exiting the form a few times, but every time I went back to it it was the same and I couldn't get passed it. I was using Google Chrome to complete the form. Eventually I started thinking maybe it was a browser issue, so tried in Edge but to no avail. Finally, I tried good old Internet Explorer and voila, it worked.
Just thought I'd share this insight as I know lots of you will be completing the DS-160 shortly. Not sure if it had anything to do with the fact my first photo was rejected, but I'd advise those about to complete the form to use Internet Explorer so you don't run into the issues and stress that I did

July was nearly totally free on any tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. No Friday appointments available from what I remember and only a couple Mondays left. August for some reason was completely unavailable for some reason. Perhaps they don't allow bookings too far in the future?

We're approved!!!!! Yayyyy!!!
NOA1: 21st Feb
NOA2: 14th June
NOA2 hard copy: 17th june
naturally the case tracker still shows us as "received". TIME TO DELETE THE APP! Wiiieeee!
I should probably mention that our case was approved on the same day my fiancé called USCIS and spoke to a Tier 2 (who said we'd have to wait another 45 days!!). I don't understand why they're toying with peoples emotions like this...
special shoutout to everyone still waiting, this wait is absolute nonsense and I feel for everyone that has to wait as long (and longer) than the 113 days or so we had to wait... Hang in there guys, you'll get there.
Now to regain my sanity and prepare for the NVC wait..

I just had a thought...
We've not had our NOA2 yet, I'm really hoping it's just a case of the approval letter having gotten lost in the mail or something.
Do you guys think it might be worth calling NVC to check if they've received our application yet? And if so, any tips?

Skatie2k17 reacted to Wuozopo in Working remotely for a UK employer
I've searched as well this year, last year, six years ago. I read an article or ask.com type thing (way back) where immigration lawyers were giving answers and quoting sources in the law in their very impressive legal jargon. Bottom line six said yes and six said no. It was still an opinion based on their interpretation of the law. A debate really. I have never seen anything on USCIS.gov that explicitly says yay or nay. K1s are such a small fraction of visa recipients that they are not addressed in many things. That period of time after your I-94 expires but before you have been granted a green card is pretty vague when you want to find something in writing by USCIS that you could show to a cop that it's okay that you are in the US without documentation. Or a bank that doesn't know whether to treat you as a resident or foreigner in their records.
So pay a lawyer to tell you yes, then go next door to the next lawyer and he may say no. Or just keep calm and carry on. Or enjoy a vacation. You'll survive either way.

There's an interview with a guy that used to work at USCIS on VJ. If memory serves he said he'd have a check list of things to look for. So I don't think they waste time reading everything we send. They might read a lot if they feel the need but part from that..
found it (it's a bit hidden), very interesting read: http://www.visajourney.com/content/adjudicator-q-and-a

Last time I checked there were a handful of November cases left, about 300 December cases, and something like 1500 January cases. Their rate seem to be ~2-300 cases/day. So unless I'm way off we should at least start seeing February cases touched in a week. ...hopefully

Hey all ... I'm sorry and I feel really bad for not being able to help you with the scans for the last week. We had trouble with the internet connection and the scans didn't run well. We also had his kids with us and that was important for me to spend time with them. So yes I totally forgot to look into VJ and again ... I apologize for not giving a heads up at least.
Thank you for taking over and run the scan @Kate + Evgeny ... let me know if I should do them again!
I'm back in Germany now and would be able to do so ... but if you want to continue ... I can help to make it easier for you.

As a March filer I do read the posts in all the progress threads and I enjoy all of them. I think that our progress does involve what we are all talking about. Its so nice to find people that know exactly how we are feeling or thinking and ways on how to make it better. We all deal with stress differently. This forum is a sanity saver for soo many of us. Our family and friends are supportive BUT they do not truly understand what we are going through emotionally unless they have been there themselves. HUGS for all as we work our way through this process and deal with our emotions and lives while working towards a common goal - to be with the one we love.

Mod note: you are wrong. This forum is also for support during this difficult time, when many couples are separated and face financial and other stress. This can include some off topic posting, in specific progress/ monthly filers threads like this one. That is one big reason why we have two forums, the K1 Procedures forum and the K1 Progress forum.
