It will be fine. But I understand I was nervous and I went through the medical but it was so much nothing. Basically you are paying for a bunch of tests, expensive tests. lol Your fiance will do awesome.
Thanks dear!!! I really hope so. I'm just stressing myself out over the chest x-ray part. He had TB when he was in High School and went through many months of proper treatment and was fully healed, but he has no medical records. His parents kept it very hush-hush because of the stigma around having it and they lived in a super small town so didn't want judgement from everyone. I know he doesn't have it currently because he would obviously be ill, but I'm just worried if they send him for additional sputum testing or whatever since it would cause a major delay and our wedding is in 3 months!! But I'm trying to stay positive as I know worrying won't help at all.
So happy for you that your POE is soon!!! Best wishes for stress-free travel

Okay so, my fiance's medical appointment is next Thursday (Nov. 2nd). I am SOOOOOOOO nervous!!!!

So awesome to see so many approvals and POE's going on!!! My fiance got his PCC issued last week so we can FINALLY book his medical and interview. We were waiting to book the interview because we didn't want to have to re-schedule if the PCC didn't get issued in time, but luckily it was issued same day! The first and only thing that has been processed quickly in India
Now he's in his hometown celebrating Diwali since his medical isn't until the end of this month. And once US Travel Docs opens appointments for November we will schedule his embassy interview!! I've been checking obsessively each day just waiting for November slots to open, right now it's only October available.
I hope, hope, HOPE that I will be giving good news of us being approved within the next few weeks! I'm so nervous for the medical and interview, but seeing all of the positive news from you guys here definitely helps settle my nerves!

My fiance applied through the passport link shown above then went for his PCC appt at the passport office. He was issued the PCC same day....two letters, one for him to keep and one for him to provide the embassy. I think sometimes it can take longer if more verification is required. But he had just received police clearance for his passport a couple of weeks prior and he knew someone at the passport office...so that may have had something to do with why his was processed same day. Either way, you have to apply for it initially through the passport website.

Hi! My fiance finally got his PCC issued last week after dealing with frustrating delays of getting his passport. We're ready to schedule his visa interview appointment and have paid the fee on US travel docs website. However, the site currently only gives scheduling through October 31st. I've been checking every day for the last week and November still hasn't opened for scheduling. Does anyone happen to have an idea when they open scheduling for the next month? Will it be on the 1st? Has anyone seen following month appointments available at New Delhi or only one month at a time?
My fiance is home for Diwali and has his medical at the end of October so we can't schedule the interview until beginning of November. AND our I-129F petition approval expires on Nov 23rd hence my anxiety about getting the appointment scheduled ASAP!! I'm not sure if the embassy will automatically extend the approval or not so I'd rather everything be taken care of with at least 2 weeks to spare before it expires.

I applied for the tourist visa through Cox&Kings and received my passport with visa delivered back to me within a week. It's a 10 year visa with multiple entries up to 6 months per each visit. I'm not sure how your Indian citizenship status will effect getting the visa so you'd have to contact them regarding that, but as for timing of getting the visa it was surprisingly quick. I'm a US citizen by birth though so not sure how your situation will differ in regards to getting the visa. Wish I had more advice to help on the topic. Congrats for your upcoming oath ceremony and baby on the way!!

Hi March whiners!!!! Sorry I got lost and abandoned ship. I was busy traveling around the Himalayas and stuffing my face with delicious home-cooked food prepared by my future Mother-in-law and other Indian relatives. I spent 5 weeks there and has an incredible time. We dealt with some frustrating delays (mostly due to procrastination of my fiance...he owns his mistakes LOL), but now things are finally back on track. His interview will be in a few weeks and then hopefully he will be here with me by end of next week! Now I will be busy with work, school, and planning our wedding which will be on Jan. 27th so I have plenty to occupy myself until he gets here.
I hope all of you are doing well!! And hope everyone is either with their partners already or very close to being done with the process!

That's so interesting.. We never got a letter or anything 🤔🤔Its all so confusing haha
12 hours ago, cherryblossoms916 said:But you said you got a letter from NVC. So, how did you notified? Will the beneficiary receive a email or phone call/txt message.
I (US citizen/petitioner) got a letter in the mail from NVC about a week after I had called them and received the case number. It included the NVC case number and other details and advised the case has been sent to the embassy.

I am an Indian beneficiary and our receive date was 29th March, just one day after yours. We got out NOA2 on 08/08. Still waiting for NVC status to be "Ready" to start application.
I recently got my PCC in anticipation of the approval. I had to change my address on the IDs as well but ended up not having to use the ID. Let me know if you need any information about that.
Hope you enjoy your trip to India
Awesome!! Glad to know you got your NOA2 also. Once the NVC received our case, it moved super quickly to the embassy. It went from "At NVC" to ready in 3 days I think.
That information is very helpful!! Unfortunately, he needs to ID because he still has to get his passport. It was supposed to be done months ago but things came up and life happens so I'm controlling my eye roll moments! Haha. He should be getting it within a week or two then we can begin scheduling everything, so just a minor delay hopefully. And thank you! Very much looking forward to it as we will be going up to the Himalayas for some time during my trip.

Thanks so much!!
Also, looks like you finally got your NOA2 according to your signature timeline!? YAYY!!!! Congrats!!!!

Life has been so hectic with a new job and preparing for travel that I have no time to check VJ, but hopefully things have been good for the March crew!! Just wanted to let everyone know my fiance received his packet from the embassy a few days ago...he is having his brother bring it to him since he is still stuck in his hometown taking care of some family affairs. I know some people have asked if an actual packet gets mailed or not, so it seems that with some embassies it definitely is the case.
Sadly, we haven't been able to book his medical and embassy interview yet because there is a hold-up with the getting the address listed on his ID documents updated. He needs the ID documents to request a new passport/police clearance, new passport to submit the DS-160, DS-160 to schedule the appointments, etc. We expected all of this to be sorted well over a month ago, but you can't have too many expectations with India! haha. Good news is that I'm leaving in 11 days to spend five weeks with him, so we can spend a long time together while getting everything sorted out!

Good morning everyone!!
I have a silly question! On the I-134, question 38... do we leave that blank? I just feel like I am afraid to leave anything blank, but I have seen where it says that is for tourists... so, just tryna make sure before I actually do leave it blank because I feel like I have also seen somewhere that we are supposed to click intend.
Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance =)Is that the question about whether you will provide specific support to the person listed? I was having issues with what to fill out and for some reason I think it was #38, but don't have the papers in front of me right now.

So excited to see so many people getting visas in their hands!
My heart goes out to everyone still waiting for their NOA2.
My fiance is on his way to his medical exam now! He is freaking out because he found out he'll need to strip down to his birthday suit lol
Right now, our plan is that he'll give his work notice as soon as he has a successful interview (which is scheduled for September 8th). He has to give a month's notice at work and we don't want to wait around any longer than we have to. Hopefully we can still have our wedding on October 28th!
How did the medical go!? My fiance is going for his in New Delhi also so just wondering if the process went well. My F had to go back to his hometown for an emergency, but we're hoping we can schedule his medical and interview soon. I'll be there visiting from Sep 3 thru Oct 6 so I'm hoping we can still find an open interview date for before I have to leave Delhi!!

So... No NOA2 today BUT... an email from my senator:
I just received the below response from the California Service Center after making an inquiry on your behalf. They report that your case has been APPROVED and is being sent to the National Visa Center for further processing. Let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you for your August 04, 2017, inquiry on behalf of your constituent, XXXXX, regarding the I-129F petition filed with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). In receipt of your inquiry, a thorough review was completed on your constituent’s case. USCIS records show the following:
- The California Service Center approved the referenced I129F petition on August 11, 2017, an approval will be sent to the petitioners address of record. The petition will be forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC) for processing.
Since USCIS records can confirm that the case will be sent to the NVC (in approximately 2-3 weeks), USCIS will no longer have jurisdiction over the approved I-129F petition. Please address all further inquiries to the NVC. The NVC can be contacted at:...
So now the big question -- did the inquiry trigger the approval? We'll never know. I'd still advise doing it if you're still waiting.
Yay!! That's awesome!! Same exact thing that happened to me, so I'm thinking the inquiry has to prompt them to pull the case and approve it! I'm glad Mr. 'E' was able to help us both! hehe.

If you are only going for two weeks and don't plan on going back often then e-tourist visa is the quickest/easiest/cheapest option. But if you plan on going back several times in the next 5-10 years then you may want to look into just getting them tourist visas. I went to India twice on e-tourist visa then got a 10 year tourist visa so I would have the option of staying longer. It's also must more cost effective when visiting many times.
e-tourist visa:
only takes 2-5 days to get it, no paperwork required to submit, completely online application
cost is around $65 USD
valid for up to 30 days stay (may have recently been changed to 60 days)
I know you said you didn't want to limit the port of entry but I recall every major airport being listed as options. You can double check on the website.
tourist visa:
requires paperwork to be submitted, but is still a pretty quick process after submitting the application
I got mine in 5-7 days once I submitted the application
cost is around $130 but it's a one time cost
US citizens can get a 10 year visa valid for multiple entries as long as each one doesn't exceed 6 months

Hey my whiners!!! So excited we're all getting closer and closer each day! My case still shows just as "AT NVC". I thought it usually gets sent to the embassy within a day or two? How was it for you guys?
P.S. Do I need to do anything at this point? It gives you the steps under the "AT NVC" notification but I read here that we don't do that?
My case showed in transit on the 8th and as of today it shows ready!!!! Jeeze that was fast!

Suddenly I feel stressed out.. Or do I really have to feel this way?
Today, I've started to gather some documents and prepare the documents for the interview.. I've checked my emails where my fiancé sent me the scan of his supporting documents.. then as I was reading the content of his W2, I found out that the address of the employer in his W2, is different to the one he wrote in his G325A and his I-134. :/ what he has written in his G325a and i-134 was the exact address of where he's working, not the employer's address that's written in his W2.. What I mean here is that he wrote where the manufacture workers work.. :(( that's not my only problem here.. His company has a mother company.. The one he's working right now is just a division or let's say a sublet.. What he wrote in the company name on the forms is the name of the mother company 😣 but on the W2, the name of the sublet is written in there.. Now I'm starting to panic. Will this lead to a denial? :((
Don't worry, I wouldn't worry about this at all! I work for a huge corporation so my payroll stubs/W2 has the main Payroll location which is completely different from the actual office location where I work. I put the physical location of the office where I work on my forms and on my i-134 we are submitting. I'm sure this is super common across companies in the U.S. so don't worry.

The whole process is a nightmare for some people.. it's been 4 weeks for me and nvc still hasn't received anything yet.. I was just reading in the January filers it's been 10 weeks for someone and nothing even after emailing them and calling USCIS. One can only pray and hope..
OMG seriously? I don't understand this process!! I received my case number exactly two weeks after the NOA2 approval. It makes no sense that I would get mine processed by NVC when older ones are still pending!! I wonder if they handle some reviewing on their end also that could delay some and not others? The lady I spoke with told me they "don't fully handle K1 visa's" but that they do some "light administrative processing" on the applications before sending it off to the embassy. Keep calling every day I guess and hopefully they receive/process it soon!!
20 minutes ago, taybayjay said:Just called NVC this morning and they haven't recieved my case yet😔 Oh well it's still early. But they told me it can take up to 6 weeks ?? Is this true ? ... I'm going to wait until next week to call again but I hope it gets recieved sooner than that !
Anyone on here with NOA2 from July 31st tried calling yet ?
Give it two weeks at least then try. So wait until Monday to call them and see if they have it. My approval was 7/24 and they provided my case# exactly two weeks later on 8/7 so I think you just have a few more days and they should have it!!
-
As of last night, CEAC status tracker shows "In Transit"!!! wowwwww when people say things move fast after the NOA2, they are not kidding! I'm much cheerier today after my emo moment yesterday; my fiance is only staying in his hometown for a few days so he should be back in Delhi and able to get everything ready next week to request police clearance and begin scheduling the medical and interview.
Timeline info for others who recently received NOA2:
My NOA2 approval date was 7/24; NVC received it on 8/4; case # provided to me when I called on 8/7; status updated to "In Transit" 8/8

1 hour ago, gob332 said:For those of you bored at work or in general; a few questions about actually getting married:
How is everyone going about making their wedding plans given the uncertainty associated with the timing of actually receiving the visa. We have a fairly good idea of when we will have the visa and she will be able to travel over, but we can't take anything for granted.
We chose to plan a date with at least 2-3 months buffer from when the "expected" approval time frame was. I found a place that is super affordable and only required a small deposit. It's also 100% refundable as long as I let them know with 2 weeks advance notice. We booked it for Jan 27th, but expect he should be able to get here before the end of the year so we gave ourselves a month in case anything gets delayed more than normal.
As for actual wedding planning, it makes it super difficult! I bought a dress over the weekend, but can't send out invitations or do any real preparation and planning until he has his visa in hand and flight booked. I've told all of my close friends and family of the date, but told them to not book any travel plans until I tell them his visa confirmed.1 hour ago, gob332 said:Are you guys going to do a full blown traditional wedding or what types of ideas are you throwing around?
We're doing a traditional wedding, but on a very small scale. 75 guests max, small venue at a city park clubhouse, buffet style Mexican food, booze purchased from Costco, friends doing the photography/music, etc. After he gets his green card we will travel together back to India and have a formal Indian wedding because we promised his parents/family that we would. Unfortunately we just can't afford to have one massive wedding where both families can all attend so having two weddings was our only option. Plus it allows me to have my traditional style wedding and also the Indian wedding for his culture.

Our case is at NVC which I guess means it should reach the embassy within a week or so. But this morning my fiance called me to tell my that his best friend's younger brother has passed away. He was only 10 years old and had been in the hospital for weeks. My fiance recently went to donate blood for him, but sadly the boy wasn't able to pull through. My fiance rushed to the hospital to be there for his friends and is now on his way to his hometown with them and the body. My heart is broken for them because he was so young and innocent. It's just not fair.
His hometown is 8 hours away from where he lives and he will likely be gone for a week or two dealing with the funeral and everything. This will definitely put a delay on our visa process as he planned time off work this week to finalize getting the ID docs he needs in order to schedule the medical and interview ASAP. I was struggling with trying not to get frustrated because he was supposed to deal with getting these ID documents months ago but he kept putting it off. I told him, you can't put it off until last minute in case something comes up! Then I realized how awful it is that I was even considering how this will effect our visa process. I'm human so of course the thought crossed my mind, but if it means we get delayed a few weeks and I can't attend the interview then so be it. At least we still have the chance to enjoy our lives.
Anyway, just a friendly reminder that no matter how hard we try, we can't possibly control everything. All we can do is be grateful that we have found somebody to love and that we are alive and well. Life is short and we should appreciate every moment we have...even if those moments are spent thousands of miles away from the ones we love while waiting on a frustrating visa process.
