Wow we just got approved by snail mail. Today he is leaving me (I’m the beneficiary) and we received a pic of the mail by the informed delivery. So it’s really nice news for us
noa 1: March 12 (old site) / March 16 (new site)
noa 2: September 18

I see. According to the processing time of CA office, its 5-7 months. Is it reliable? Is there any chance that the petition will be approved between August-October if 5-7 mos from March? Im about to give birth on late august or early september and quite worried. Thank you
Well, as of the moment we see that processing time has slowed down a bit again so it’s more like 180-220 days (according to VJ it’s 197 days in average). But after official 7 months pass you can make an inquire about being out of normal processing time. But anyway if petition is going to be approved in September-October you need to add about 2 months for nvc and embassy stages (this is an average, it depends on the embassy you gonna go through).
You shouldn’t worry as there is nothing you can do at this moment as to wait. It’s going to be approved when it’s time for it. It can be faster, it can be longer, but you’ll get the answer eventually. And most likely it’s going to be approved after your baby is born. So you better relax and take care of yourself

Hi! Do you have any update regarding your petition? We filed our petition on March too, and case was received on march 19 2018. We haven’t heard any update nor news from uscis or lawyer. How about you?
Uscis is only about to start processing January filers so there is not going to be any news for another two months at least. You can check other monthly threads here on VJ to see what dates uscis is processing at this point.

Most of the time Embassies don’t require translation of the documents if they are either in the official language of the country the embassy is located in or in English. So if the documents are in Arabic you don’t need to translate it as embassy representative told you.
But if you have some criminal charges on police record with court decisions they usually have to be translated in English

December - Partial Scan - 8:00pm CST
So either my VPN broke, or the website is down... either way, I can't finish the scan tonight... Only made it through part of 12/15, sorry all.
I tried switching VPN to several different servers and none of them worked...
I’ve got notifications from case tracker about uscis system maintenance

and if there is no such letter?
they will refuseDo we need such letters from friends and relatives in Russia?
I've sent you my opinion on this topic in PM.
But can please @Naes, @Greenbaum and some other gurus help as @Natalia_777 gets under Multiple Filer Waiver and I believe her RFE is for an additional information in order to approve request for the waiver. I'm still newbie here (even though I read a lot lol) and can't really help on this matter. Thanks

Thank you.
But I was in the US for 2.5 months.
Can we ask neighbors in the house to write such a letter?it totally depends on the situation they are asking you about. It can be anybody as it's said in the letter but i believe it's better if such statement comes from somebody close to you such as family, friends etc. But i'm sure you can submit few affidavits from different people to have better chances.

Thank you.
I'm not good at English. It's strange that they ask for confirmation from a person who is not a US citizen ... or I do not understand.
"The persons making the affidavits may be relatives and need not be citizens of
the United States. Each affidavit must contain the following information regarding the person making the
affidavit:..."i'm just gonna translate it for you to Russian.
Имеется в виду, что аффидавит необязательно должен исходить от гражданина США (то есть это может быть кто угодно из любой страны)

So what you are saying is all responses are recorded on each "old" and "new" but RFE's only are on one of them. So if I don't have an RFE then it leads me back to "why check both" when one will do. Why do do when do will do?
No, you never know which one will actually show the update on your case. So you’ll have to check both as they are still in transition period and some adjudicators update only old one, some only new one and some both 🙄 uscis it is lol
But I agree with you on people stressing too much over this process.. patience is a key 😜 nothing better than long distance relationship teach you that lol

The old and the new tell you the same thing. Stick to the one that works and eliminate your frustration.
Actually it doesn’t tell you the same information as sometimes only old website updates and sometime only new one. Plus there are some cases in December that have an error on old website but work on the new one. And Sometimes even the same person can receive rfe update on both sites but after all approval only on one of them.

Yeah, not sure about you but my fiance and i were going to do a court wedding withing 3 weeks of her arrival to complete the 90 day marriage requirement and then plan on a church wedding atleast 3 to 4 months out. it would be a good idea to file for the AOS as soon as the court wedding certificate is issued so she can have green card in about 6 months. SO would you and your fiance do the name change after your court wedding?
it takes around a year now to receive a green card (sometimes faster, sometimes longer), but the average is 1 year...

You're correct. Thanks.
Whoops, I wrote that wrong, I actually meant to say that I don't believe we need to have the NOA 2 hard copy moving forward.
I already got the email from NVC that gives me all the information I need so I'm not really too concerned with not receiving my NOA 2 hard copy.
you actually need hardcopy of NOA2 for AOS, so you better call uscis and tell them that you never received it & they will resend it to you again.

Then it is the last option. "Not applicable, I'm not a multiple filer"
Damn, I didn't see that it's "No, beneficiary is my spouse OR I'm not multiple filer".. I only saw spouse part lol. So RFE it is now, I guess..

Did you send your package with USPS tracking?
Has your check been cashed?
Did you try calling USCIS?
Yes, we send it with tracking. We sent petition on sep 10th and uscis received it on sep 21st. Check wasn't cashed. We tried to call but they said that there is nothing they can do if we don't have case number.
We are going to call them again to check if it's legal to cancel the previous check and send new petition. But I wanted to ask here first, maybe smb was in similar situation.
-
Is your cash checked? If not, your case has not been opened yet.
No, check wasn't cashed. That's why I'm talking about check withdrawal.

Hi.
We've never received our NOA1. Its been just 3 weeks but considering that everyone received NOA1 with 7-10 days we are worrying. And we can't ask USCIS about our case because we don't have case number. And we don't have it because you know.. So it's like a never-ending circle. So i've got an idea. Can we cancel the check for this petition (so it will be returned anyway) and send a new one? Not sure how legal it is but otherwise our petition can stuck at Step 1 forever.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

So we figured that our package was delivered to USCIS only on Sep 21st even though it was sent on Sep 10th. It was going through clearance which is weird because it was sent from NJ not from outside of the USA. But anyway, its already Oct 3d and there is still no news it's been 25 days already (and two weeks from package delivery).
If we call to USCIS how can we check our petition if there is no case number? Just by petitioner's name?
Congrats to everybody who has received theirs NOA1!
-
Thanks everyone for responses.
My bf said he sent it from his business account so he's gonna check tracking number tmrw. It was sent to Lewisville.
I trust USPS so i guess it was delivered to USCIS 2-3 days after it was sent. So we were supposed to get NOA1, according to other timelines, around Sep 15-16th.
We are both busy last days so couldn't ask for more details. But can business address on package cause a problem? Even though there is a paper inside saying from who personally it was sent.
-
We sent our petition on Sep 10th and still didn't receive NOA1 and check wasnt cashed out.
Maybe smb knows how we can figure out why it is so?
September 2018 NOA2 ----> NVC

So yesterday I called to NVC and received my new case number. I’m beneficiary and they were ok with that.
NOA2: Sep 18th
NVC: Oct 4th
By the way, the operator asked me if I want to add my email to the case even though I updated it through ask nvc form and even received response to it. But still they never added my email to the case which is weird. Just a heads up for those who are waiting for email update
