After the interview was cancelled, they scheduled new interview date. I have attended as scheduled. I was waiting in the lobby and the IO came out and told me that everything looks good and no need for any further info or interview and told me that he approved the case. After that I received my oath ceremony date and I am a citizen now.

Nothing right now. If you get a job before it expires, you will use that and they can't say no because it's expiring. If you get the job after the letter expires, then you will make an infopass appointment to get the stamp and use that.

I am waiting for an interview in Indianapolis as well. Since September my status has changed to "ready to schedule an interview".

Chewbacca got a reaction from Phoenix777 in Traveling on Extension Letter?
Just to report my experience coming back to the USA with an expired GC and the extension letter. The POE was Miami, and although the officer was not very familiar with the extension letter as he asked if I had received my NOA1, which is the extension letter lol. I showed him that I waiting for my ROC interview to be scheduled and showed him the status of my process in the visa tracker app. He then asked me if I never had an interview. I imagine that he is new on the job, or maybe not very familiar with the ROC process. He then left with the extension letter on his hands to ask someone what to do. Then he came back, took my fingerprints and picture, asked me how long I was traveling and why, and if I had any food/meat/fruit with me in my luggage. That's it. It took longer than I was expecting, but no secondary screening. Btw it took almost 2 hours from the moment the plane arrived, to the moment I got my luggage. Although the CPB officers are always nice in Miami, the lines are usually very long.

If the status changes to "ready to schedule an interview" this means that we won't get a RFE? I'm confused about the ROC process. After biometrics the interviews are handled by the local USCIS office correct? So this means that MSC role is to review if the petition was filled correctly and the biometrics results? And RFE if necessary?

Guys consider yourself lucky that you at least have access to both sites, I can’t even check my status on old site while new site still says ‘we received your case’ even  almost two months after bio done.
note: however I contact with customer service , they said in their system it was updated that I did my biometrics

I am sorry this is happening to you and I had similar situation happening to me (it is especially frustrating when you are coming from a 14 hour flight and still have to get home). A few times they were asking some questions, but most of the time they just let me go. What one officer told me is that this is a mark that you will never be able to remove until you become a citizen, otherwise you should just plan on a longer connection time.

But keep us updated in case your situation changes, I'd be more than glad to know that someone succeeded.

Thank you everyone for the replies!

I think the long name might be the issue. I have 4 last names as well (no middle names), and I had problems in the past because they listed 3 of my last names as a middle name in my social security card, and I had to get it replaced. Reading your husband experience, it seems like a very similar situation. No interview, just a long wait in the room.

I will apply for Global Entry and hopefully they can identify the issue and fix it.

Which country did you come in from both ways?
My USC husband has been pulled aside twice when he flew in from Amsterdam to Atlanta for a shorter visit (to visit me back then). They put him in a separate room as well, two times, while they ran his name through the system. One time, they called in the drug dogs, so even when they said nothing about the reason, it was quite clear for him why they were going for him. He is a white male, around 40, but dressed in hoodies and anxious about flying, plus the short visits, so I can see from their point of view why he would fit the profile of weed-trafficker haha.

Perhaps it is something similar with the country you just came from? And that you in combination with the city/country you just came from, just raises some flags?
In that case, you could just set aside some extra time for that in the future when you go there again.

My husband had this problem.  Originally he was fine, but we drove (in our own car) over the border to Canada once.  When we returned, the officer sent us to secondary.  From that point on, my husband was always pulled aside when returning to the US...Japan, Australia, the Bahamas.  At the Bahamas, both of us were led to the secondary inspection.  From what we gathered from the side talks is that they struggled because my husband had such a long name (four last names to be exact) and that caused problems.  We always listed his first name as his first name and his other names as his last name (the way they do names in Egypt don't exactly match the way we do it here), and it appeared somewhere in their system his first name was listed with the first 4 names and his last name was the last one.  So, his name didn't match to them...even though all the names were the exact same.  He is away on his first trip as a US Citizen, so we imagine things will go much smoother on Friday when he returns (he legally shortened his name which should help).

What We Did:  First name: John  Last Name: Smith Jones Carpenter Lewis
What They Had In the System:  First Name:  John Smith Jones Carpenter  Last Name: Lewis

My husband was never interviewed.  He just sat and waited for them to clear him.  The reason we felt this was the issue was because the Bahamas CBP said, "Yes, it's fine.  It's the same."  The original officer just didn't want to make the call to clear us.

This happened to me every time I come to US. At JFK I did my own US passport scan then with 'X' mark I went to immigration officer, he took me to secondary inspection. Where I sat for 15 to 20 minutes then the officer called and gave my passport back.
It's happening to me regardless of vising Country. I came from UK, Amsterdam, India, KSA and recent visit from Ghana.
This start happening to me once I got my GC. Earlier I was on H1B I had no issues. So now I prepare my self that I have to go secondary.
After this trip I applied for Global Entry but the application is still in review.
I never had an Issue at TSA or boarding plane etc.

I would appeal to the DHS and acquire a redress number. If you are always being stopped at secondary screening you can do this.  Heres some information regarding this.
Redress number is for see below and good luck

I'm sorry for what you're going through OP. I hope you'll be able to resolve this situation. I don't want to sound judgmental, but I'm surprised that most of people in America do not sign prenuptial agreements. My parents are both lawyers and I've seen numerous divorces turning ugly. When I got married even thought I was in a relationship for 6 years (my husband is the US citizen), we signed a prenup. Friends and family members made jokes about it, saying that I'm not a millionaire, why do I need that? You don't get married thinking about divorce later, but if you do, you have a way to protect yourself. Like health insurance.

There's websites to help to prepare a prenup. We asked a friend to go to a bank agency with us since you need a witness, and in less than 15 minutes we had all the documents signed and notarised. It didn't cost us anything. And you can make changes to your prenup agreement later with you want.
I know it's too late in your case now. But I hope your case can serve as an example to other couples to avoid situations like that.

Chewbacca got a reaction from Jhonny in CR-1 Consular Processing - HIV Question
During the medical exam the doctor will ask him about all the health problems he has/had. He should not lie about that. Being HIV+ will not prevent him from immigrate to the USA, but lying can. He should bring all the previous exams that he has but the doctor might still require him to do another set of exams. In my case the doctor asked me to do the X-rays of the lungs even after I showed her a recent CT scan of my chest (I was trying to avoid more radiation because of previous lung cancer).

You can explain the situation and maybe the doctor can send the samples to another lab for faster processing (I'm to sure if that's possible).

Can you send the medication that he needs while he is overseas?

Chewbacca got a reaction from Iskender in B2 visa in my tricky situation.
I would contact the US embassy of your home country or the country that you're planning to apply for the visa and ask about the possibility of getting the visa outside your home country (if they had any rule against that). I had to renew my student visa once outside my home country (I was traveling in Europe) and it was fine. It was risky because if they had denied my visa I wouldn't be able to enter the USA again and I would have to go back to my country. Also I applied for a visa to visit Vietnam while I was in Cambodia, and it was okay. I know that they are not as strict as the american embassy, but I think it's not an unusual situation. The American Embassy in Singapore probably had applications from people backpacking around the world, and the fact that you've been visiting many countries is a plus. The most important thing is to show that you have enough money to support yourself while you're visiting the USA. So bank statements will be important in your application. First time I received a visitor visa to the USA I was just in college and I only sent my mom's tax return to show that she had enough money to pay for my trip since I did not have a job.

I did. Not only is faster but also cheaper since you do not need to spend $ with international postage fees. Just be sure that all of your documents are in the right format (PDF) and are named correctly. The NVC case number, first and last name (petitioner or beneficiary), and the name of the document as described in the document cover sheet (that also needs to be sent by email). Ex: BNS2016999999_John_Smith_Birth_Certificate; or BNS2016999999_Susan_Smith_Tax_Transcript.

Each document needs to be a separate pdf file (but if the tax return has 5 pages, all the pages need to be in the same file).

There are some instructions on the NVC website: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-scanning-faqs.html

In my case, after I sent all the documents, I had a case complete after 3 weeks, but I heard that the process usually takes 6 weeks. Just make sure that you are sending all the required documents, in the right format to avoid any delays.

    Good luck!

I think it depends on the embassy. For the one in Rio (which I believe it's your case as well), they scheduled the interview approximately one month after my case was completed.
