Hey guys! I had my Oath Ceremony at the Long Island, NY Field Office on July 23. The entire ceremony lasted 15 minutes. It was very meaningful for me, and I am glad that this is DONE! I filed for my passport the next day, so I hope this is the last waiting game.
I want to thank every one of you for your encouragement and words of wisdom through these past five years. We wouldn’t have been able to do it without Visa Journey’s fabulous people.

Hi all! Just a quick note to let you know that tomorrow I’ll be attending the Oath Ceremony at the Long Island Office in NY. The ceremony was supposed to occur on June 18th, but it was cancelled last minute because of the Juneteenth holiday.
I am beyond excited about becoming a U.S. Citizen. Good luck to all of you!

Good morning everybody! I had my interview yesterday in the Long Island office. I was approved on the spot. Now, I need to wait for the Oath Ceremony. Do you remember how many days after you were approved did you take the oath?
    sending good vibes to everybody.

    Hi everybody!
Long Island, NY filer here. Just got my interview appointment for April 28. I hope the Oath Ceremony comes soon after that. Any ideas about how long would it take after the interview?

If you'll have an interview, bring your photos for the interview. If you have submitted enough of other evidence, you should be fine.

Wow you're really not getting it - immigration lawyer can't help. She can't adjust status by marrying another man. The way you keep asking questions sounds like friend is only after a green card.

Have your friend go home and next time she finds an American she better marry in PI and not go for K1 visa.

Another smell of desperation of living the American dream.

K-1 visa holders have to adjust status through the fiance(e) that petitioned the I-129F. If that is not possible, the K-1 visa holder has to leave the US as there is no path to a green card or legal stay. At this point it's useless to contact an immigration lawyer as it won't help the situation at all. The petitioner and beneficiary have to get married in order to proceed adjustment of status. Your friend should leave the US to prevent any damage for the future.

Yes, I completely agree. I feel people like this make is very difficult for "real" couples who are in same the process. It sounds so desperate, would do anything to stay in the US, even try to get pregnant  Wow, it's not a game, it's real people and real lives and you want to use a child to achieve this purpose.

    Is this real life? Sigh....
OP, you should get to know this man before applying for a K1 visa (which will inevitably get denied). He should also get you know you a little better, after all he might decide he didnt choose the right BOY for him and change his mind.
This is ridiculous. I'm sorry to sound so harsh, but it's applications like this that make it harder for other people to get approved. People who actually have a bonafide relationship and already know they want to spend the rest of their lives with the other person. Not to find out if they 'really love each other'.
OP, please use your common sense with this process.

Put yourself in the CO's shoes and you will get the answer. You wouldn't give visa to a guy, claiming he fell in love with a man, older than his father, during first meeting of a day or two.Your petition might get approve but there is no way you can get through the Interview with 5 pics and chat records and only one meeting.Looks like you are more worried about getting to the USA than your relationship.

It's been said many times but I don't think the OP is getting it. The K-1 visa is not a "try before you buy" visa. The 90-day validity is not there to allow you time to see how you feel about each other. It's for the logistical planning of a wedding. When you file the I-129F you are supposed to be ready for marriage. All this "see how we fit" and "see if we love each other" is done before the petition is filed, not after. You need to be at the stage of a relationship where you are a couple that is as good as married except the legal wedding hasn't taken place. In the months before we got married my husband and I considered ourselves married as we had made the commitment and oath to one another. Although we weren't legally married at that stage, we had reached the decision personally that we wanted to be together for the rest of our lives. The wedding was just the legal formality of what we had already decided.
I do think the matter of children is not necessarily out of the window with same-sex couples. Same-sex couples are able to adopt or become parents through surrogacy. This is another issue you need to be clear on. If you want to experience parenthood at some point, this man is not for you.
