  1. That is a good subject for discussion, because I have read that ANY previous time out of status is a bar to adjustment of status for other than immediate relatives and a few others. The following is the reference I saw, but there might be more. Chapter 2 - Eligibility Requirements | USCIS F. Bars to Adjustment of Status Noncitizen INA Section Entries and Periods of Stay to Consider Exempt from Bar Crewman[102] 245(c)(1) Only most recent permission to land, or admission prior to filing for adjustment VAWA-based applicants In Unlawful Immigration Status on the Date the Adjustment Application is Filed OR Who Failed to Continuously Maintain Lawful Status Since Entry into United States[103] OR Who Continues in, or Accepts, Unauthorized Employment Prior to Filing for Adjustment 245(c)(2)[104] All entries and time periods spent in the United States (departure and return does not remove the ineligibility)[105] VAWA-based applicants Immediate relatives[106] Certain special immigrants[107] 245(k) eligible[108] Admitted in Transit Without a Visa (TWOV) 245(c)(3) Only most recent admission prior to filing for adjustment VAWA-based applicants Admitted as a Nonimmigrant Without a Visa under a Visa Waiver Program[109] 245(c)(4) Only most recent admission prior to filing for adjustment VAWA-based applicants Immediate relatives Admitted as Witness or Informant[110] 245(c)(5) Only most recent admission prior to filing for adjustment VAWA-based applicants Who is Deportable Due to Involvement in Terrorist Activity or Group[111] 245(c)(6) All entries and time periods spent in the United States VAWA-based applicant[112] Seeking Adjustment in an Employment-based Immigrant Category and Not in a Lawful Nonimmigrant Status 245(c)(7) Only most recent admission prior to filing for adjustment VAWA-based applicants Immediate relatives and other family-based applicants Special immigrant juveniles[113] 245(k) eligible[114] Who has Otherwise Violated the Terms of a Nonimmigrant Visa[115] OR Who has Ever Engaged in Unauthorized Employment[116] 245(c)(8)[117] All entries and time periods spent in the United States (departure and return does not remove the ineligibility)[118] VAWA-based applicants Immediate relatives[119] Certain special immigrants 245(k) eligible[120]
  2. I just saw this. The average current processing times gap for VJ members has changed a little. These charts are generated by data which is entered into VJ timelines. Of course, individual cases vary, and VJ is a small sample size as compared to all cases: USCIS Immigration Processing Times - VisaJourney
  3. O course, your other option is to mail the I-130 package, the I-485 package, the I-131 package, and the I-765 packages all together.
  4. The receipt is the NOA1. Yes, it is "battle tested":
  5. You should get a receipt almost immediately posted to your USCIS account after filing an I-130 online. You can then send a copy of that receipt with the I-485 package. That's one advantage to filing online. The information you received was referring to the actual hard copy paper receipt.
  6. ***One comment bordering on violation of the Terms of Service removed***
  7. If it happens again: Settings>Safari>Advanced>Website Data>Show All Sites>Edit That should allow you to see individual sites, then delete specific site data. That should prevent you from losing login data on every site.
  8. There are some very good guides here for a K-1. Tips, guide, and flowsheet.....
  9. You are mixing up the K-1 process with the spousal visa process. Have you read the K-1 guides here on Visa Journey?
  10. Settings>Safari>advanced>website data......Can you delete VJ data?
  11. I have never heard of doing it like that....
  12. There is no "DQ" for K-1s. NVC will assign a DOS case number, then forward the case to the consulate. Living together is not a red flag. If anything, it shows more time together.
  13. In Edge, I can delete a single browser cookie. I'm not sure about Safari....I was able to clear Safai data on my Ipad like this: Open the Settings app on Ipad, then select Safari. Scroll down, then select Clear History and Website Data. Tap Clear History and Data to confirm. Then, close Safai and try to access VJ again.
  14. No. From what I have seen, it is a browser issue, but a server issue, too.. The issue resolves if I just delete one cookie.
  15. Verbal "approvals" have no value. They mean absolutely nothing. "Administrative Processing" can mean anything....and there is no time frame for competition.
  16. Thanks for finding that. "Use of the foreign passport to travel to or from a country other than the United States..."
  17. If in doubt, ALWAYS take the documents. The Consulate Officer is THE SOLE approval authority for visas. No one who has processed the case to this point is in a position to approve it.
  18. I don't see an issue. Good luck. You will be rid of USCIS soon.
  19. OP applied for citizenship in Feb 2024. I think this is a 5 year rule case.
  20. If you didn't file too early based on the REAL date, I don't see an issue. When and how did you find out?
  21. The language about IP being logged, etc. is a standard response when that error is thrown by the server. Every time I have gotten that error, deleting an odd looking VJ browser cookie resolved the issue for days or weeks. Deleting just the VJ cookie didn't affect any other web site info.
  22. Wife's non-judicial oath ceremony was like that. We had to be there at 7:30am.....but the ceremony didn't start until around 9:30am. They actually did a good job of getting everyone processed as there were more than 1,000 new citizens sworn in during that ceremony.
  23. Generally, K-1 cases (more so than others) are processed in order of receipt. But as the late, great @geowrian used to say, "USCIS service centers are like a large grocery store. Some lines are just a little faster than others". In all honesty, no case is the same. Individual background checks, individual adjudicator workload, etc. also play a part in the processing speed. The only instance I can recall of not generally processing in order was with I-751s a couple years ago. Patience really is a virtue when it comes to immigration matters. The journey is long and difficult for most couples.
