  2. Sometimes, applying for citizenship kicks the I-751 loose. It worked in our case. After 40 months of waiting for the I-751 to be approved, my wife filed her N-400. 4 months later both the I-751 and N-400 were approved in the same interview. Hopefully, both will be approved for you soon.

  4. I would concentrate on the 100 questions. They will ask you at 6 to 10 of them. Listen closely, and answer honestly. It sounds like you are very conscientious. If so, you will have no problems. Good luck.
  5. K-1 cases go through NVC only to get a DOS case number assigned. No documentation is required. NVC holds them there until the consulate requests the cases. Then, at most consulates, the applicant schedules their own interview. There are a couple exceptions which come to mind. BTW, unless things have changed, all PI immigrant cases, by law, are automatically given preference at USCIS due to a hurricane years ago. I'm not sure if that is still the case.
  6. Nooooooo!!! Biden needs to hold it together long enough to become the Demorat candidate against Trump.
  7. I think you are mixing up the processes between K-1s and spousal visas. There is no DQ for a K-1. Aren't Philippine K-1 interviews set by the fiances, themselves, when appointments are available?
  8. First quote was Obama. Second quote was Clinton.
  9. I would take literally as written. "Received in this office..."
  10. Visa Journey guide advises to get the SSN BEFORE marriage.....at least a few weeks prior to expiration of I-94.
  11. More states and Governors backing Texas and Gov Abbott. This is history unfolding before our eyes!!!
  12. Congratulations!!! You are now rid of USCIS!!! Get that passport!!!! My wife naturalized exactly one year earlier....
  13. Applicant can inform the Consulate Officer of the error. I don't see an issue.
  14. Technically, there is a process. However, I am surprised they would waiver TB. Good luck. I think the consulate will require treatment before issuing a visa. I don't think a waiver would be required after successful treatment. Waivers of Health-Based Inadmissibility for U.S. Green Card Applicants | Nolo
  15. You could ask a Senator to inquire, but I suspect you would just get a canned response about processing times.

  18. I can explain the bold sentence. The fees for a K-1 adjustment of status are going up soon......by more than 100%.
  19. You might want to see this: Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 (K-1s are soon to be extremely expensive) Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire K-1 entrant cannot file for citizenship until after having Green Card for 3 years. Once an I-129F has been approved, delaying the case is difficult to impossible if the need arises. CR-1/IR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US. The clock for citizenship filing starts immediately upon entry to the US. A CR-1/IR-1 case can be delayed indefinitely at NVC if the need arises.
  20. Who said the following? ""We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our im migration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it.""
  21. Who said the following? "“We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked, and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, and lawfully to become immigrants in this country.”
  22. Doesn't sound like a big issue to me. But you must be truthful.
  23. You missed the word "arrested". He was arrested.....The answer is "Yes".
