U said it right!! I heard it so many times, " my friend...has a problem" and 1001 times its not the friend, its the person him/herself. If her friend can be on fb than how come she cannot register here on vj? even if she speaks little englishor may be native language then google translate does wonders.You can translate anything. I have read vj's trying to help and understand people with such broken english. she is not talking about her friend....She is her!! that's it! People on vj help each other with genuine concern and this person, in name of her friend, getting ideas!
She doesn't have to leave her friend....its her

Exactly what kind of advice did you come here seeking? Cause to be honest you have a variety of choices. You gave no indication of what it is you want. If you are looking for users in an online forum to tell you what to do... well, yeah you are pretty lost and confused. I dont mean that sarcastically, just being truthful. We can not tell you what to do. You have to decide that for yourself. So if "advice" means help me make a life decision- well you need to do that on your own. We can tell you what is the correct thing to do, but you know that already. You are a smart woman. You know what is going on is abuse. You know it is wrong. You know you are scared and you want it to stop. You know you do not want your child growing up in that environment. But you need to speak the words and say I need help in getting out of this ABUSIVE relationship/situation... otherwise you are just going to keep getting a mishmosh of garbage responses like try to work it out, go to counseling, dont fight back, maybe you are angering him and hes trying to calm you... Unless you are here looking for 'advice' on how to live peacefully in an abusive relationship or rehabilitate an abusive spouse?? In which case I read it wrong...

I've been concentrating on NOA 2. Haven't even looked into the next step for the department of state. If you anyone has any links or forms. I need to fill out. Please let me know. Thanks.. I have lots of time still, I'm going to start researching and getting everything ready for the step.

Note: This is not a hate message.
My spouse is on her two year green card and will have to go through the 10 year green card process starting next year.
My point is this:
Entry into USA (or any country), gaining permanent residence in any country and citizenship in any country is not the unconditional right of anyone.
For instance, I as a USA citizen cannot just simply go to Switzerland, declare my intention to stay there, demand that I be given permanent residency, citizenship, etc.
I cannot do it on my own or by marrying a citizen of Switzerland.
Even if I or another person could obtain permanent residency or citizenship in Switzerland under current rules, Switzerland has the complete right to change the rules at any time.
Sure anyone can complain, join complaint groups, write congressmen, etc., but isn't it a little bit presumptuous to feel that the USA or any country cannot have the rules that it wants and change the rules at any point that it wants?
Again, even as I have a spouse that will be subject to whatever conditions exist in future, it is more than a little bit annoying to citizens of USA and other countries to have intending immigrants feeling that they deserve accommodation by the USA.
And, while I am on this rant, it is also extremely annoying to have newcomers start telling me how our country needs to change many laws and procedures regarding taxes, health care, education, etc., etc., to make the USA more like 'back home.' I hear this all the time.

Nice to see all the people I started this journey with (and who got screwed with Nebraska as well) finally getting approvals. Let's all keep supporting each other in the NVC phase.

We aren't ignorant. We are trying our best to understand US laws. I thought that is what this forum is about. And I didn't even mention anything about riots. And you gave me your example. I'm an Indian Citizen and my husband is a LPR. My visa type is F2A. Unlike yours, where one of you is a US citizen. We can't compare our cases.

In this instance it means not hiring any more people and that people when they retire or resign will not be replaced. It dies not mean he is going to cut numbers right away. The numbers at the FOs and offices of the USCIS will remain the same at least for a few more months or a year or two and quite unlikely it is going to make much of a difference to the process.
A lot of the delay we have is due to the half mil plus naturalization applications this year.

Like I've stated before, I think a lot of people are scaring each other unnecessary and we won't be or get affected by Trump's presidency. "He doesn't like foreigners" - Explain his immigrant wife. "He is going to stop greencards" - Try to do that with an immigrant wife. "He's against immigrants" - Again, explain his immigrant wife. "Are we getting rejected?" Oh my god, no. You're doing it the legal way, as everyone wants to see. Trump wants undocumented, illegal immigrants deported.

I think Melania is not a great example as a First Lady when it comes to many things but I think she might be helping with migration stuff or anything. It'd be double standards if he would close all visas/greencards etc while his wife is here too on a greencard. I have never ever heard him talk about legal immigrants. Is he an ####### with a big mouth? Yes. Will he deport illegals? Yes. Will he freeze greencards? No and especially no for the 2016/2017 applications. Stop scaring one another, for a minute I was a little scared to but I am not anymore. Why should I? I do everything the legal way, I paid every fee possible, I worked hard for this visa, I worked hard to afford this visa. I've been nothing but truthful, honest and hard working. I work hard to contribute in the American society and he has no problems with people like me or us.

And the majority of them spoke down on her for buying the ticket. She is not a child to be scolded. If people just responded with something along the lines of 'I advise you to change your ticket' then that would be different. However people took the time to scold OP as if she is a child and that is not called for.
Also Anita, I hope that you do not think I am attacking you because your responses were not lumped in to the ones I felt were uncalled for. Your responses were not offensive, just stating facts (as far as i recall, I did not go back and re-read them).
The ones I take issue to are the ones saying 'No, its impossible' When clearly it's not impossible if its happened. Unlikely, sure, but impossible, no.
And the posts offering no help whatsoever. The ones who seemed to just jump in and say something along the lines of 'that was a silly decision and now you've wasted money'....that is not advice at all and as it has been said multiple times on this post it only serves to make OP feel bad about something she cannot go back and change

Exactly. OP asked for advice. Advice is something like 'this is what you can do in this situation' (such as my telling her that delta will let you change tickets for free if travel documents are pending)
advice is NOT: 'NO you wasted your money, you should have known better!!!!' That is not advice. That is not even constructive criticism as OP specifically stated in the first post that she knows she should have waited but took a chance due to the price difference between buying the ticket now and waiting for the prices to increase.
I'll state again (since this community seems to like attacking people) that I agree that OP should have waited, however that time has passed. Making her feel bad about her decision does not change it. Giving her advice on what to do if the visa is not ready however, does help her make her next decision.

Finally got an approval!!! After 7 months, PD 04/07/2016. I Almost couldn't believe my eyes when I logged into the MyUSCIS website this evening and found that we were approved. When will I know when our case is transferred to NVC?

6 June here... Nothing yet. Although I got transferred to Texas, which I guess means an extra delay for me. Never thought I'd say this but it seems like those who stayed in Nebraska lucked out.

My PD is June 10 and still no update. This haphazard way of processing application is really unfair. Except for the countries that are under the special law, they should process all applications in order they are received at least for specific processing center.
They even skipped our date while transferring the cases and now even while processing them, they are just ignoring the order. This is all stupid.

June 9th PD Nebraska, no transfer, got NOA2 email this afternoon! Hang in there, Looks like all those transfers got things moving for those of us left in Nebraska.
