I think it’s crazy that USCIS is telling everyone something different about stamps and expired extension letters, if you call them again you’re likely to get a totally different story. You can get a stamp and an infopass appointment, but they (the person on the phone) has to deem it an emergency, there’s no set standard for getting a stamp. We were able to get an appointment after explaining our situation to three different people, someone finally said we could get one. Where we live licenses aren’t just being extended and it would be a financial hardship if my husband weren’t able to go to work everyday so the license is an emergency.

Still think it’s ridiculous USCIS couldn’t extended the letters with some kind of proof, they literally could’ve just given another letter. It’s also ridiculous I’ve seen I751’s filed in 2020 that have been approved and we’ve been waiting nearly two years... not fair.

One day someone who can afford a good lawyer is going to sue over these kind of things and win big.

I do have an update. So, I did get a bit annoyed and I decided to contact the ombudsman on Tuesday, quite frankly I was half expecting the same response as I’ve had “your case is within normal processing times” and well, I did. However, they did say that they contacted USCIS on Wednesday and that was what they were told, on Thursday (yesterday) my case was assigned to an officer and I should wait to hear from them and today my case was approved. So within 3 days it took from nothing to approved. I should be thankful and I am but why should I have to go to such lengths. We lost a loan because my paperwork expired on Monday, I can’t renew my license, I work for a government contract and couldn’t provide adequate documentation (they extended it luckily), ROC just shouldn’t take 20+ months and we shouldn’t have to go to such lengths to get some movement going.

Besides, all said and done, I have it and I am grateful. I’ve been in this process for so long now I don’t know how to live outside of it 😂 10 years will come around quick enough again.

  2. Hello, long time updating because there has been no news and still no news. I have had zero luck with this part of the process, I called USCIS a few weeks ago as my extension was due to expire, today as it happens, as does my driver’s license and I was told that I don’t need a new one nor do I need a stamp as my status is removing conditions. I have remained patient and only called as I needed to about being out of status, they say that it cannot be escalated because it is still within normal processing times but it seriously sucks. Coming up on 2 years, contemplating on citizenship more and more the longer I wait. It amazes me that they do not process applications in order of receipt, if they really are just processing receipts of May 2018, then how the heck are people after that getting theirs! Just rhetorical but that’s my point of their statements. I would really feel better if I had some proof of eligibility but they won’t provide it, I feel it’s a lose lose situation right now.

434 days from my NOA today, 195 from biometrics. No RFE or any other correspondence. When I call or use the chat feature, I just get told everything is normal with the case, I just have to wait.

Any other active users well past the year mark?

I applied end of November 2018, case received December 3, had bio done in July 2019 and yet to hear anything. Case status is still case received with no update, last “touched” 02/19/19. 412 days and counting.

Happy to let other December filers know that our GC is being produced!  Mailed Nov 28th 2018, received Dec 3rd 2018, biometrics in July 2019, and status just changed today to Card Being Produced (11/20) -- with no interview required! Case was at LIN.

    Good luck all!

Fantastic news! Congratulations. I also filed November 28th and my case was received December 3rd, LIN also. 🙏🏼

My wife and kids are in the same boat with nothing since the "case received" update.

I think we're going to try calling in and asking for Tier 2 and maybe even having a service request submitted as a way to maybe trigger some action. I would hate to find out down the road that they never updated the case with the fingerprint review and possible consider it abandoned or just forgotten.

Let me know how you get on 😊 I haven’t called because I don’t want to hear that it’s still within normal processing times! I never thought about the possibility of it being classed as abandoned though. That would be devastating.

Same thing here waiting biometrics show that it was completed on the myaccountDHS.gov and on the myuscis site it says case received. My patience is wearing out 😪😪😪

Ahhhhh, same here. Filed end of November 2018 and my case has never updated from case received even though I got my appointment for biometrics and had that done in July. My case was touched 02/19/19 but not a thing since. I was hoping by now I’d know something. Really wanted my GC before I fly to England next month.

  7. I’m a little confused about how people are checking their case status online with talk of old and new websites. When I check my case I use egov.uscis.gov but when I go to the “new” site it just links me to the original case status page anyway. Am I missing something?

‘My case hasn’t been touched since 02/19 and still says “case received”, I did my biometrics in July too.

What are people using for more accurate updates?

Plus.... have you seen the October LIN filers being approved? Good news!

Use this link to check your status.

It's more updated than the other tool they have.

Ours show Biometric done last July 26 and they will update us for next step.

I created an account on the new site and when I check my case through it, it takes me to the old site which hasn’t changed since case was received. I’m confused on how to use it, plus it’s difficult to navigate around.

    Hello everyone,

I also filed to remove condition back in December 2018 but with a waiver. I would like to follow this thread given the similarities since this is anyways related to I-751.

Thanks in advance for your help.

My last update from USCIS was when they sent the 18 months extension letter in January 2019. However, last week I received the following email:

*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

    Receipt Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I751, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On June 14, 2019, the Post Office returned your document for your Form I751, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE, Receipt Number XXXXXXXXXXXXX, to us because they could not deliver it. We will hold your document for 180 days or until December 11, 2019. Please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we re-send the document to you, or contact the USCIS Contact Center at www.uscis.gov/contactcenter. If you do not submit an online request or call us by December 11, 2019, we will destroy your document and you will need to file a new Form I751, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE, with fee. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application. If you do not receive your document, please contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

I am very confused. does this mean my case is approved? I haven't received any approval update. I contacted USCIS but they say my case is still being processed. I spoke with a Tier 2 but they didn't give me any additional information. I submitted an e-request and they just said that they will review my request and let me know if they need anything else from me.

I did my biometrics last month. However processing times for these cases are around 15-24 months, so I was wondering if this is just a system error on their side, especially since my address on file is correct.

It'd be helpful to hear other people's experience with these kind of updates.

    Thanks!

    Littlefrench

    Yes! But it wasn’t delivered.

  10. How can this part of the process be so different for each of us, as in correspondence and information given? It’s ridiculous. I thought this bit would be the most straightforward!

They told me they’d already sent out my receipt notice, I still haven’t got it but I did receive my extension letter today so I guess that is my receipt. As long as I have this I’m happy knowing that I can travel back to visit my family.

USCIS told me I have to have it stamped otherwise I lose status. It’s compulsory I guess.

Here’s an interesting update; I went to my infopass appointment today and as soon as said that I hadn’t received my receipt yet, she said “yeh you and a thousand other people”.... wouldn’t let me speak. She said that they do not stamp passports there and I have to give them a chance to send the receipt and to allow 90 days, also NOAs are coming together with extension letters because they are so far behind. Biometrics are only meant to be done at the end of the application process otherwise you have to go back and have them redone. Was advised to apply for citizenship as those applications take presidency over any other ones so why wait 2.5 - 3 years for the 10 year GC. They’ll just do the two interviews together anyway.
