I don't understand the purpose of your thread....

The instructions clearly state that the fee is non-refundable regardless of the action taken with the case. Several times even.. :/
I can barely read it, like I said, I was quoting what I'd read.

Can I ask, was your case 'touched' at any point? I'm not going to say 'you should have done this or should have done that' but my guess is if it was touched then they definitely did something with it. Sorry, I'm not providing any help, just out of curiosity really.
I have read somewhere (again, not going to be help of a definitive answer), but someone had the same issue and they were advised to send in the fee and if they could prove that it was indeed USCIS's fault then they would receive that fee back. I feel your pain and I sincerely hope you manage to get it resolved.

I am still waiting for AOS approval and am filing my tax return.

Yes, mine is Jacksonville Florida and they're processing cases from July 2016. Uscis told me I won't hear anything for another 3-4 months probably.
Mine's November 2015... getting there!!

Yep, I had the same thing. Mine took 6 weeks, don't worry.

If your case is still waiting at the NBC, you're more than likely being considered for an interview waiver. Any day you could get an update where they simply approve your I-485 and send out your green card.
Stay positive and hopefully we all have smooth processing as we go thru to the very end
Well, that would be nice but I think it's just a slow office and they haven't gotten around to looking at my case yet. Many before and after me have been approved without interview (one filed after me, same office AND got approved without interview), maybe it's background checks that are holding it up, who knows. But it's not worth worrying toooooooo much over.

My pd is 11 september, and i got my ead on 17 november but the i-485 is still stuck at fingerprint fee received. Does anyone with the similar timeline have the same status?
Yes, me. But I don't expect anything to happen for about 12 months so I'm not worrying about mine until at least August.

Hi, I haven't been on this thread for a long while but thought I'd update you all to let you know that I still haven't heard anything lol.
There's no telling when either, although I did make a call to USCIS (about something different) and I asked about my case whilst I was on and I was informed that St Louis is taking 16 months
and not worth checking my case until August
Okay because yeh, I have the willpower to not bother checking for a further 8 months!! Anyhooooooooooooo, gratz to all who have got their approvals or interviews scheduled, not jealous one bit.... no sirrreeeeee, nope, not me!! Ha! Sincerely, gratz!

This is just my opinion based on being a member here. I would personally avoid any ceremony that 'could' suggest that you are married, it is more difficult for you to prove that you aren't than you being married. Even though you wouldn't be married, it's not worth the potential problems you could face if they decide to flag it up, saying nothing won't mean that it won't get out somehow or somewhere (Facebook can be the devil with things like this, so that would be a no no), so just my opinion.... avoid doing it, it's just not worth it. Do the ceremony with family and friends after you're approved AP, I'm sure they'll understand.

Each case is individual, it can take up to 12 months for a case to be approved. To be honest it doesn't take that long but I'd hold out a few more months yet before worrying about timescales.

11/03 is NOT 11th of March..... I'm so embarrassed right now!
I could have not said anything but it's worth a laugh at my incredible brain fart yesterday, right!!
JUST as USCIS answered my call and I gave my receipt number I realised what I'd done and I told her, she found it too funny also, but whilst I had her on the phone I had her look up my I-485 and basically I have to wait until August 2017 to call back, which is standard and what I expected but I said I'd make use of her since she answered the phone to me!!
All in all, a good morning ha!

Didn't you apply for the EAD with the AOS. Package? Then it should be good for a year from approvel date of the EAD. Seems really weird.
But apply for renewal so you won't be without.
Yep, applied for it all together in August but that's the date they've printed on it so I guess I'll just have to have it extended already. I have a job too so I must not let it expire. And yes, it's an error I think as I would have thought it would expire in November 2017, a year from approval.
-
It's good for a year from K1 approval and obviously I only had iyhe EADapproved in November and the expiration date is March 2017. So in theory I need to apply now to have it extended! It's crazy.
-
I had my K1 approved in April, moved to the States in June, married in July, applied for AOS in August. My I-485 hasn't been approved yet but my EAD expires in March. USCIS states that application to extend the EAD should be made 90 days prior to the expiration date. This leaves me in a bit of a quandary because there's no telling when the AOS will come through and I've only just received my EAD! Should I apply for the extension or wait? I just don't know. Thoughts?

They will update the site after Jan 15th. The agent told me to take a look after that date. My projections are monthly so if they are actually doing better at processing, it may bump up the Cases Processing Date to more than just the next month. I think that is what Alex is saying. At least hoping to see a better than one month per month basis.
And we are relying on that information being accurate too. We should know by now.... !!

Keep in mind that those dates are for cases processed by October 31, 2016.
Every month they give an update.
In my case it says that by October 31, 2016 the last case that they were working on had a receipt date of June 11, 2016 so I would think that by today January 6 they are close to my receipt date which is August 8, 2016.
Does this make any sense?
To me it reads that as of October 31st they had processed cases up to or including September 2015. I don't know how else to read it. I had banked on 6-12 months given my location but I was expecting that to have moved forward more than it has.

So, to confirm what I had written, I went and had my fiance call. We both talked to the Immigration Agent who was very nice and directed me to this site:
https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do;jsessionid=bacXD1OC9RCyFagQNRyeu
I put in Baltimore, and it shows cases are being processed that were received:
I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status March 8, 2016 My six month projection on VisaJourney must have been from some very lucky people, as this means at this rate, our June Submission (If I do a monthly projection) won't be processed until April 2017. My wife noted her friends have said the same thing. Crazy. 10 months to process.
Kevin
Ah yes, I looked at that at the beginning of my process and sadly it hasn't moved forward much for me!!
Ho hum.

Any time that your case is looked at the date will automatically change, aka a 'touch'. It won't specify what that touch is, so you can assume that if your case has been touched since your medical then the likelihood is it's because it was updated to include your medical results have been received.

Aos from tourist visa is a legal and proper avenue
True that!

If you're going to do it then do it properly and legally. What's the point in doing it any other way and living a life constantly looking over your shoulder. If you're in a bona fide relationship then it's the obvious route to take, I wouldn't do anything like come to the States and hope for the best, just not worth it, the wait however is so my advice is to do a K1 (fiance) visa and go through the correct channels.
-
No, I don't believe CEAC updates specifically to say they received it. It only takes a couple of days for the embassy to receive your medical, it gets couriered across to them.

Mine is still in Lee's Summit, MO.
It was not transferred to my local office in Cleveland, OH.
Hmm, my EAD combo card came from Lee's summit. I wonder then.
