Anyone received biometrics yet?
I haven’t heard anything yet, nothing, nothing at all! Early days though.

Have you called them to ask why?
-
100% agreed. I’ve just arranged my infopass for the 15th, I’m not taking any chances. Good luck.

I just called them too and it was very much not useful. She (G11603304) played dumb and seemed confused that we didn't receive our NOA1. She was also very rude and not helpful at all and it almost felt like she was intentionally trying to slow our process down. I can imagine that many many calls they receive is about this very thing. There was also tons of confusion because my wife didn't have all the answers and heaven forbid that I help answer the questions. I had to "certify" to be a translator for my wife. So I translated from English to English while we were both on the phone. Insane. I thought this was a JOINT petition but I guess not.. and would have thought that I had some rights given that I'm the US citizen who started this entire process with "my" government. And when we went through the CR-1 #######, they had no problem talking to me alone and giving me answers to my questions.
Anyway, they didn't say that we could go to get her passport stamped. The person we talked to filled out some service request to have the NOA1 sent to us and gave us a 16-digit number for the request. I asked her why it wasn't sent in the first place and how can I be assured that this process would allow us to receive the NOA1. She had absolutely no answers and again, was very rude. Then she said that we had to wait 30 days for the NOA1 to be sent out with this process. That puts us way too close to her expiration date which is not cool and very unacceptable
Anyways , very frustrating for sure.
Were you given a receipt number at least? I don’t have my NOA1 either and I’ve just got off the phone to them again to find out why and was told to allow up to 45 days. She clarified my receipt number though but I had to really push for it, she did not want to at all.

Thank you for clarifying that. I am looking to go to Germany around April. Hence i already have my NOA 1 i do not need a stamp if i go by what is written on the NOA. I was just wondering why not trying to be rude
It’s ok, I didn’t think you were. I didnt know anything about this part of my journey and I couldn’t understand why people were getting their passport stamped. When I got my case number I asked what happens now and she said I have to get my passport stamped and I asked how, she said I had to make an infopass at my local office before my GC expires otherwise I have to apply for it all over again. I’m going by what they say rather than what others have been told because I obviously don’t want to start again. Sigh.

Why does everyone want to get their passport stamped? If you want to travel you just need your expired greencard accompanied by your I-797 NOA.
USCIS told me I have to have it stamped otherwise I lose status. It’s compulsory I guess.

I called and got my receipt number, albeit a number short 🤦🏻♀️ And our case is at Nebraska, 16.5 to 23.5 months processing time. Just waiting for an available appointment to get my passport stamped at our field office.

Guys,
There is hope. A bunch of us, October fillers and November fillers received the extension letter in the mail yesterday from LIN.
Also @slimbolina use this link: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices
Enter your zip code and it will tell you what field office has jurisdiction over your case.
For now your case is at a Service Center.
Thank you! Makes sense it would be the same office as my AOS 🤦🏻♀️

🙋🏻♀️
Uhm, silly question but how do you know which office will be dealing with your case? Is it based on region?
-
Not everyone gets an interview, have you checked the processing times for your office? It might be worth a call to them to see what’s going on.

Also I like to ask that everyone got a reminder from USCIS to file for remove of condition? I didn't receive anything..
I got a reminder letter which was a relief because I changed my address with them and I didn’t know if it had actually gone through! Filed my ROC in Arizona, haven’t heard anything or had the check cashed yet but it’s still early days. Gosh, this reminds me of when we filed for the K1!
-
Hello, I sent my ROC packet yesterday so that makes me a December filer. Here’s hoping for a quick, smooth process for everyone.

I'm looking into doing the same thing and as a quick Google search I came across this post on VJ, although maybe old news now with all of the governmental changes:
-
Hey, I can't say without knowing what the RFE specifically states but it does sound to me like they may have made a mistake. Generally, not in all cases, a British birth certificate is more than adequate especially when going through the AOS via the original K1.
I would strongly suggest that once you've received your letter you call them. I called them a couple of times about mine and they were very helpful, mine was not RFE related but still, they may be able to shed some light.
Someone mentioned tongue in cheek about coffee being spilt on it, you know, this wouldn't surprise me.
You have had a torrid time with the immigration process and life in America must seem pretty grim, homesickness on top of illness on top of stress on top of being at the end of your tether would be enough to break any camel's back. I promise once you get over this "hump" (pun intended!), and once you have your green card, you will massively feel better and this won't seem as bad. I promise.
I don't understand an original British birth certificate being invalid, so I would definitely call them up because getting an affidavit from your parents could possibly take too long.
Good luck.

I would file for the EAD anyway as it's included as part of your K1 journey to AOS. If you don't you will only have to pay for it if you change your mind before approval. May as well do it now in my opinion.
-
You cannot speed any process but you can be prepared for the next steps ahead of time. As stated, start gathering all evidence you need for the interview, ensure vaccinations are up to date and keep checking in on VJ to make sure you have everything in hand. Good luck.
-
Can anyone navigate me to where I can get help with the new VJ update? Or can somebody tell me how I can turn off the new stream to visitors to my profile seeing everything that I post? I can't find an actual 'help' topic and I've tried searching but searching for help basically brings up everything, I've tried all sorts!!
-
If you enter the States on a K1 visa and then leave, you cannot re-enter. You will need to reapply.

Hi Ontarkie, honestly I don't know how could I move this topic to AOS, I am newbie here, how could I do that then?. thanks.
She moved it to the right forum for you.
-
To be 100% honest with you I don't know. Hopefully somebody in the know can guide you on that.
-
Oh no, I'm sorry you didn't know that. I know it is free for those adjusting through K1 as part of their petition, I only knew that from being on VJ. You'll have to apply for your EAD separately now and pay the cost for filing, it's up to you if you want to apply for it or just wait for your GC, it's a gamble because there's no way to know how long your AOS petition will take to be approved if you do.

in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion

Yesterday I called USCIS to make sure the offices are still open next week for my appointment given the recent government shutdown. I was told that they haven’t been affected, in the event that they do the appointment would be rescheduled and I wouldn’t lose status. They offered to sign me up for email and text alerts and have also put in a service request for my NOA1 as apparently it hadn’t been sent.
