MMteam reacted to H-M in I-751 January 2019 Filers
My ROC package was also delivered on Jan 9. So far no e-notification(text/email) or cashed check. I think 1 week is an average time before any update.
How did you send your package (USPS/Fedex/UPS) ?

They've been taking 3-4 weeks to actually send the extension letters (some have had longer delays than that). Check cashing and e-notification with case number came around the one week mark.
Nope, take a few deep breaths. 1 week has been perfectly normal, and you can definitely bet they're not working weekends.

Yesterday I called USCIS to make sure the offices are still open next week for my appointment given the recent government shutdown. I was told that they haven’t been affected, in the event that they do the appointment would be rescheduled and I wouldn’t lose status. They offered to sign me up for email and text alerts and have also put in a service request for my NOA1 as apparently it hadn’t been sent.

If you don't get the extension letter in time, you can also use an unrestricted Social Security Card + Driver License to complete the I-9 form/e-verify requirements.

I think it's also somewhat country-specific because, let's face it, some are looked at "harder" than others and you often times have to over-provide to compensate for that.
At this rate though, I'm not worried at all about the ROC and I'm already planning my wife's prep studies for citizenship lol Those 15 to 20 month processing times are ridiculous 😂

I have enjoyed the last year and a bit without having anything pending with USCIS but I feel this filing will be less stressful, because I’m looking at it as more of a formality, rather than waiting on a status.
Best of luck to us all as we (im)patiently wait for some news. (At the rate things seem to be moving, I’ll be filing the N400 before even hearing anything on the 751)

Mine was half an inch and I am not worried at all.
They don't need 200 pages of tax report. They don't care ! They need to see it was filed JOINTLY.
Bank statements. Do they care where you spend your money? NO. I sent one from every quarter. A single page. 4 pages total.
Couple of photos, some joint medical cards, joint t-mobile account, joint mortgage - boom.
I think people worry about this stage. They just need to see you are still married via joint items. Maybe I have just had an easy time of this immigration thing. I remember freaking out SO MUCH about the interview for AOS for no reason. All the paperwork and they looked at all of 2 things.
Anyway - My case was received 01/04/2019 and check cashed today, 01/10/2019. Now I just wait for 18 months i guess!

Hi! Yes, the bills show my phone number but not my name, so I guess we have a family plan as well. Thank you!

I totally agree with @Cryssiekins!
I also work in the legal field and have a tax prep business...and while you do have your "standard" or "average" set of documents, each situation has their own unique circumstances.
Just remember, Quality over Quantity 👍

I am using attorney. There are number of factors I had to use her.I had hard time assembling the documents. I know its kinda easy but I was nervous doing it and couldn't afford to make a mistake. Second, I travel a lot so when there is notice on the way from USCIS and I am out of country, my attorney receive it too and she updates me that she got it and here is your appointment. Also, I have a simple assault case ( charges dropped) but I cant afford to take a risk.

We also did everything by ourselves, including very difficult N-400 appeal for expedited citizenship, which is currently pending. We did use an attorney for a consultation. It is extremely expensive. However, the reason for the consultation was a specific question we could not find an answer anywhere.

Maybe they have a special case and some like to be on safe side and use lawyer, since we started our process from 130 till the 751 We did it DIY .

Do not use an attorney! You can do anything and everything by yourself. This forum has lots of useful resources. If you have a question - just ask, we are here to provide an absolutely free input.

Yeah but seeing people receiving RFE so we don't have to worry about it . Seems they deny without RFE for cases sending nothing as just place holder I would assume.

Now this is pretty neat.
Interview waivers for green cards through marriage
A revised guidance allows USCIS officials to waive the interview currently required to remove the conditional status of legal residence for foreigners married to U.S. citizens.
USCIS adjudicators may consider waiving the interview, which is required after two years of marriage and often makes couples nervous, if there’s sufficient evidence about the authenticity of the marriage, among other conditions.

Here are a few pictures of our final package. We 2-hole punched the top, used printable sticky tabs and one ACCO fastener (3.5 inch capacity) to hold the entire package.

Check should be $680, NOT $860.
Make sure copy of green card is of both sides.
Exhibit B is not necessary.
You have more than enough proof. Good luck!

MMteam reacted to Cryssiekins in I-751 January 2019 Filers
I received a reminder, but it was sent to my old address and USPS forwarded. I also submitted the address change the day after I moved, so I’m guessing those are the bottom priority.
I assume they will use the address listed on the 751.
Exhibit B - marriage certificate, may be necessary. Some other threads show that people got RFE’s for it. Good to send along incase it was misplaced, or so that the officer looking at your package doesn’t have to go find it

MMteam got a reaction from Ahmed & Amy in University Degree/Transcripts Notarized/Authenticated
Based on my experience, I was hired in my filed as mechanical engineer, without even revaluate my Egyptian degree, all they want is to see my degree in English and transcript with each subject I studied , and it was not even stamped from US embassy. Here they are more keen on your knowledge, and that you really can do what you say. I would get international driver's license it might help switch to USA driving license or not, I didn't have it so till now I'm not driving and have to do the whole test to drive.
Hope that cleared your question.
