Your reasons really don't seem to warrant an expedite. Your choosing to take the trip, no one is requiring you to go.
This is not a quick process. We all did not / do not enjoy the wait. But feeling lonely isn't a reason to push anyone towards the front of the line.
That being said the worst that can happen is that it won't be granted. Go ahead and try.

    hi
regardless of where you live, as the petitioner, you have to file an i864 as sponsor, and you will put an household size of 3
your joint sponsor will put a household size of 2, himself and your wife as the beneficiary and will fill out another i864 as joint sponsor

He's got to be on a payment plan with the IRS and making those payments. If this doesn't cause a problem at the visa interview it could very well be a problem when adjusting status, Though at that point he could secure a joint sponsor but that may not be enough.

I'd be very cautious as you move forward. The more time that you can spend face to face the more you will be able to get a sense of her true intentions. To a dispassionate outsider the story sounds like she is looking to go to the US and you are the opportunity.
Take it slow and realize that until she sorts out her marriage(s) there is no way that you can petition for her.
If she's been living and working in Japan for several years why can't she support herself? That should be a big question in your mind.

You can travel to the US to have the religious ceremony with a tourist visa. Much simpler application process. When you are ready to live in the US is when you file the spouse petition.
Again, Green cards are for living in the US, not visiting. If she's out too long then you may have to do the whole process again.
You have to supply evidence of your US domicile in order to obtain the spouse visa. Plus you will have to satisfy the financials for the affidavit of support (demonstrate a current and continuing US based income) and/or obtain a joint financial sponsor. A lot of steps to getting the green card.
Do your research and see what fits your life. When she's graduated (or close) and your missionary work is coming to an end is the time to petition for the spouse visa.

It certainly would raise the questions about her committing immigration fraud by finding someone to marry so soon after entering the US as the spouse of the petitioner.

You cannot do anything without supplying evidence that fraud was committed. Some marriages work, some don't.
Divorce and move on. It can be painful but it's survivable.

If mom and dad are married and file joint tax returns then have dad do the I-864 and mom will complete the I-864a. Debts are not a part of the affidavit of support.

You ought to be ok. There is some chance that your name won't be in the system for several days after entry.

Divorce and move on. You cannot withdraw your sponsorship. Immigration is not what you should be concerned with now. Being safe is the top priority.

Tax transcripts are better in my opinion, since that is what was submitted to the IRS and it's only a few pages long. Giving a copy of the actual tax return document is cumbersome, because you have to provide a copy of everything submitted to the IRS and there's a potential of missing a document.

The CO will have a background check on the petitioner so expect it to be a topic in the interview. The CO will want to make sure that you know about the petitioner's past.

If you are going to the fiance(e)'s country then marry there and when it's closing in on the time you want to go back to the US then apply for a spouse visa. Fiance(e) has a green card after arrival so you don't have to marry within 90 days and then file for adjustment of status before the green card is issued. Plus, depending on where the fiance(e) is coming from, the affidavit of support will be more straight forward.
Do some reading here on VJ to learn the pros and cons of all options and then choose what's best for you. It sounds like you've got some time to mull it all over.

No to Dad on anything in that part. That is when big families have to split up sponsors because not one person could take on 6 immigrant sponsorships on their income.
You didn't mention Dad before. Are Mom and Dad married still? That's another household count for Mom then. Dad could be listed as Mom's household member if he was going to help sponsor. Most do that when the sponsor is married and files a joint tax return with a spouse. So what is the story with Dad/Mom? Live together? File joint tax return? It changes the way the form is done.
