CBP officers have the entire immigration record on their screens. As an LPR who adjusted from an F-1 status, I’ve been asked the same question as OP.

One’s basis for U.S. citizenship can always be reviewed and questioned by DHS at any time. U.S. citizens have been held up at the border and handed over to ICE for long  term detention in the past,

    and will in the future.

I think the record for ICE detention of a U.S. citizen is over 1200 days:

    This will only get worse.

Talk about fear mongering. The two examples that you posted are not indication of anything extraordinary. Of course they question your claim to US citizenship if you can't provide a US passport.

First example the kid didn't provide a US passport at port of entry. What do you expect to happen if you can't produce documentation?

Second one? He pleaded guilty of selling cocaine and then arrested by ICE afterward. He didn't have any documentation that he was a US citizen at the time and also didn't have a lawyer. I don't feel any pity for a cocaine dealer neither ICE because they fumbled the case because they confused the name of the father. He was later released because he proved that he was in fact a US citizen.

If you get asked a question at port of entry just answer truthfully and carry an unexpired US passport or foreign passport with your GC. You will be let in.

Thanks. Is there any confusion in enterance to building? Are there more than one enterances? What is the parking situation?

No problem with parking. Few entrances but they will tell where to go if you try to enter to the wrong one. Like I said try to get there by 8/8:30am and you will not wait as long in line.

  3. I was there on the 14th. They tell you to get there at 7AM but the ceremony actually starts once the judge arrives at around 10-10:30am. The wait killed the joy and we couldn't get pictures with the judge or anything resembling USCIS. Only people in the military got to take pictures.

You can arrive at 8:30 so you don't have to wait in line for an hour to enter the building.

Overall glad that I'm done with immigration.

    Greetings,

I had my N400 interview today, thankfully my application has been granted and an oath is schudule next week.

Interview lasted about 30 min because I have a complex immigration history.

A IO prompted the civic questions as follow,

    Who is your US Congressman?

We elect a U.S. Representative for how many years?

Who is the father of the country?

Under our Constitution, some powers belong to the states. What is one power of the states?

There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.

IO then prompted to ask a follow up question, "Why do citizen vote?"

What do we show loyalty to when we say the Pledge of Allegiance?

What is one reason colonists came to America?

There were 13 original states. Name three.

Then the IO asked me to read, Franklin Roosevlt was President during the WW II.

Officer then congratulated me and gave me a schudule for oath cermony.

Thank you everyone for all the incredible guidence. I wish success to everyone who is still waiting in the line.

Why do you say that you had a complex history? Did they ask you about it?

I just got an update that my card was ordered today. For those worried if N400 was going to affect or extend wait time for i 751, mine didn’t. I filled for N 400 April 05/20, i 751 got approved today.

It did not affect your i751 because they don't even have it ln their system. April 5th is 5 days ago. You just got lucky there congrats

No RFE, no interview (only on i-485)

Now me and my wife want to go somewhere to celebrate but can't because of the virus haha. Good luck to you all

  7. I'm beyond pissed. Waited 3 hours just to get the bad news that they can't accept an expired greencard with my extension letter for a new commercial learner's permit.

I though the extension letter was proof of residency for all intent and purposes?

Have any of you gotten a new commercial learner's permit while waiting for removal of conditions?

  8. I can't understand how this happens. What does uscis really check on our applications? I though checking marriage/divorce databases was standard procedure. I guess they don't really do much background checks and approve everybody with no issues

What you should do is try to get a good lawyer to help solve this issue as you might get citizenship denied later on
