KULtoATL got a reaction from ADAngel in Making the Transition as Easy As Possible to Avoid Homesickness
I am the foreign fiancé turned wife. The thing I do most is voice and video call via apps with people back home. That helps me stay close and in touch As for food, well, no decent Malaysian food around here so we always go to one of the more diverse farmers market and buy some Malaysian or South East Asian groceries for me to cook. But again, I adjust easily here and I'm lovin' it. Maybe you guys can look into a Brit society where he could socialize with fellow Brit expats?

KULtoATL got a reaction from Crazy Cat in Cr1 stamps on visa
I'm not sure how long it will take for a CR-1 holder to get their green card but if you have an issue with your POE stamp, you can contact your local CBP deferred inspection site not USCIS.

KULtoATL got a reaction from geowrian in Does she need an engagement ring for the interview?
Not having an engagement ring is not an issue. If you don't have a tentative date, that shouldn't be an issue either. The answer "will get married within 90 days upon entry with issued visa" usually suffice.

KULtoATL got a reaction from Alabamak1 in U.S CITIZEN FILLING FOR BROTHER
Check the processing time here: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/
Select the form and your service center. If you're California, it showed between 82 months to 106.5 months. You will be waiting for quite some time.

KULtoATL reacted to VegasJohn in Evidence of intent to marry
Thank you for your response. After I posted my question, I did more searching and found another thread where this was discussed, and so I feel much better now. I think I"m stressing out about evidence which really will be more important for the interview process to prove that the relationship is legitimate - although that should not be difficult for us to prove either . But with the signed statements and the proof that we have been together in person recently, I think I have everything I need to submit the I-129F. Thanks!

KULtoATL got a reaction from VegasJohn in Evidence of intent to marry
Statement of intent to marry, one from each person and signed. It's easy
What you listed should suffice to prove you have met in person within the last 2 years.

KULtoATL got a reaction from Cr7gb11 in I-797c NOA1 missing middle name
It's typical that they exclude the middle name. If you Google, you'll be able to pull up old posts from other people on VJ

KULtoATL got a reaction from SusieQQQ in Advice on fiancés affairs when she leaves Ukraine
If she doesn't have to reimburse her employer for quitting without serving a notice that's stipulated in her work contract (IF there's one), sure. But frankly, I think that's still a tad unprofessional and dishonest. She just needs to quit her job the normal way, thank them for the opportunity and that would more than help her part ways with her employer on good terms. If asked the reason, she can say she's moving overseas and keep it at that. Besides employers totally know that employees come and go.
No idea about the house. About the rental idea, you might wanna look into the *possibility* about having to report that income to IRS even if she would end up giving the money to her parents.

KULtoATL got a reaction from Crazy Cat in when is the right time to get ssn upon arrival to US?
If your I-94 is expired, that means you are not lawfully present in the US do they won't issue you a SSN. Do it before if possible. Otherwise wait till you get your EAD.

KULtoATL got a reaction from Mmagic in New Processing Times System on USCIS Website
There have been several posts on here about the newly revamped USCIS website specifically the processing times page. I took a peek at my local field office's timeline and picked random forms to look at the processing times and I personally think the page is not very accurate. USCIS is probably trying to cover their bottom and all bases to make sure people don't hound them because their cases haven't been adjudicated sooner. Even before they revamped the page, truly, the immigration process has always been a waiting game and we all have to have the kinda patience that we never even knew existed Not forgetting every case is different and it depends on the paperwork submitted along with the adjudicator that is assigned to your case.

KULtoATL got a reaction from Chea in Change of Address during I-129F Process
You can enter your current address. Not an issue. Don't need to hold off filing
Just make sure to update USCIS upon moving so that the relevant paper mails get delivered to you. Here's where you update your address while your petition is in processing: https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/addressChange.do.

DS-160 doesn't have a fee but you'll need to pay for your applicable/specific visa fee. Visa application fee is paid before you go to your visa interview.
