MrsBonsu reacted to Kastrs in CASE STATUS NOT UPDATED & HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE US
You are in AP (Administrative Processing)
There is no way anyone can predict how long it will last, and no way you can speed it up
AP can last from weeks to months to years
I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but that is how AP works
You can email the embassy once every 90 days to check on your case status for your own sanity, but the embassy will most certainly contact you when they need something from you

As for your wife being pregnant, congratulations on the blessing; however, I have to say she does not NEED you. Many many women have babies on their own, and although it is not as nice as having your husband with you, in terms of immigration that is the risk you take when you start a family when you are in different countries.

    OP,
I think you are getting scammed.  I know it seems like she's the only girl in the world, and you will never find anybody else, the reality is that there are plenty of women for you.

I would consider forgetting to tell me that she was married as a deal breaker, i.e. IMMEDIATE TEMINATION.

Try testing her.  Tell her that you are looking for a new job that can transfer you to her country.  Forget moving to the US, and see what she says.  At first, she may act all cool about it, but keep it going for a while (make up interviews, etc) and I'll bet that eventually she'll show her true colors.

Suggest you take a big step back, you have plenty of time, annulment is not a quick process and as you said it costs.

You may wish to consider how she forgot to mention she was married. Strikes me as the sort of thing that might be worth mentioning.

I have only heard of one K-1 visa case being reaffirmed and her name is Lala64 if you want to contact her. But as soon as they got denied she immediately contacted the embassy asked for second interview hopped on a plane and flew down there to be present for the second interview.  It was not Nigeria it was Jamaica. And honestly she got very lucky. It is not the norm and it was not easily done.

Children are not proof of much honestly (no offense intended), it just shows two people had sex.

As to appeal, I've heard you can; but it is costly and takes a long time, so probably not worth it...

Probably is best to send a withdrawl of the petition to the embassy and the USCIS, then you can either refile the I-129F, or marry and try for CR-1; but first you must figure out exactly what went wrong and why it was denied, or the next interview for K-1 or CR-1 would also get denied.

    Hi
I received the same thing today too! It looks like Ghana may have changed their process which is great!
So my fiancé is now filling out the DS-160 form. Then I guess we pay then schedule online. I think this is packet 3.
I hope this is more efficient. It aligns with what other consulates do.

Yes - we r trying to get my husband a visa to the States as he lives in Ghana. After 2 interviews, they returned it w/a bogus excuse. We sent in over 1700 pages of proof. We are awaiting reaffirmation. We've been married and apart now for just over 3 years (except for my visits). I'm hoping he'll be here by summer.

I knew both from the tracking number plus they posted to our status right away. I had my senator check on our case and USCIS answered them to give them 30 days to complete our case. So here's hoping we know in January!!

The NOIR will state what they want. Gather every shred of evidence you have, birth certificates,
school records, photos, birth abroad papers, etc, and check back for feedback when you have the NOIR letter.
I doubt that USCIS will request a DNA test. The embassy should have requested them from you at the embassy,
but those numb nuts just can't do it the efficient way.

You will do nothing at all. That message means they have reaffirmed your petition and is on it way to NVC and then to Accra Embassy. I assure you that it will take a month or 6 weeks for the nvc to actually have it. And once they got it they will just repackage it and send it to the embassy. At this point the nvc don't do any processing on it again because it was already processed previously before your denial at the embassy. The nvc will notify you wen they receive it and will also notify you wen they forward it to Accra. This time you don't get interview date from nvc but rather from Accra. Our case is already in Accra awaiting a call letter for us to pick our interview date.

I know right. From what I have been reading the individuals that's involved are Ghanaians and Turkish. But nevertheless I really don't see how that could have happened for that many years. The worst part about it is if you Google it and see the building you will be blown away with wonder. Thinking how could someone think this could have been a government building

I really don't know but many people were not seen on that day. My husband and I both wonder if it has something to do with this fake embassy that has been from what the authority said have been operating for the last 10 years. Who's to know all we know is that we waited 2 months to go to the interview just for them to tell us on the day of that its postponed. Our petition is not a complicated one.

Renee14 - I agre w/MrsBonsu that it's best to hire an attorney who specialized in immigration to answer the rebuttal. They have the experience and can direct you and submit all that is needed to get your reaffirmed. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Don't override that reason as invalid. Visa has been suspended for government officials of Gambia because most of them come with their families and refuse to return and when they are deported, their govt refuses to accept the deportees.
if an action of select few can cause a whole government to be punished then yea, overstayers make it difficult for some applicants. Especially, those applying for B1/B2 visas.
Just like those with fraudulent cases have made it extremely difficult for some of us to get approval for our spouses.
I sent every evidence in the book. The only thing missing in our evidence is a sex tape. yet, CO conclusion was that , our relationship a sham.
Nothing is isolated. Just like San Bernardino incident has caused social media activities of applicants to be scrutinize.

I'm aware of this, but I don't personally agree. I also normally never pass judgement on any applicants in this forum but in this case I will. It's a sad state of the world where children's rights haven't come further.. but that's a discussion for another forum

It makes me sad to see how quick people are to judge on this site sometimes. I don't think the OP feels entitled or is being hostile. I feel they are just very frustrated with this visa process and the difficulties of this embassy. There are many of us going through the Ghana embassy and have experienced the heartache of being denied a visa...sometimes twice. There are many on and off this site who have to wait 12-18 months hoping for answers of why their visa was denied. Often people can send in hundreds of pages of solid evidence that would easily slide through other embassies and be denied for no fault of their own. This visa process is hard, emotional and confusing at times. This site is supposed to help people. I understand some times a straight forward answer is necessary. We're all here for the same goals and that's to bring our loved ones home. Maybe before we all post comments and responses, maybe we should pause and put yourself in the OPs shoes.

All it proves is that he is kissing someone's derriere with his name on it and it doesn't have to be you (in their mind).
It may show that you love him but not that he loves you and with Ghana thinking everyone is using their USC for a green card
it really won't help. Even if he had your name on him it won't make much difference.
Having said that I don't think there is any harm in submitting it with a little love story note if you want to or a relationship
timeline highlighted with varies photos, events, milestones. That should have been front loaded with the initial petition.
A front loaded petition and lots of face time is better, though we see how both also frequently fails in Ghana.
Not sure what is going on there but the returned cases are ridiculously high.
