Immigration is not in the business of getting rid of spouses when you are the one that asked that they be brought here. If he hasn't gotten a green card removing the affidavit of support will end his path through you, As a K1 entrant his only path currently is through you , but he could leave and return through someone else or just become a non permitted resident like the millions of others the US embraces.

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well.
The day has come, today my husband picked up his visa at the embassy HOWEVER, getting to that point was outrageous. I would like to start by saying I know our journey is nowhere NEAR as difficult as other people's (not that it's a competition...) but I thought sharing this story might help others.
Interview - July 16th - Not told if he was approved, they kept his passport
About a week after his interview I called the embassy to inquire (which is how I found out it was approved). I asked to speak with someone in charge of immigrant visas. The man told me he was approved but the background check wasn't completed yet.
Anyone dealing with this embassy can tell you the operator (which is always the same woman) is incredibly rude and has hung up on me more times than I can count. The rest of the staff are hit and miss. On the rare chance you're connected with someone, they will give you details on the case. Most of the time, they will make you run around in circles telling you to call back at certain times like it's a game.
My memory is a little fuzzy here but around 2 weeks after I spoke with the man at the embassy, I called DOS to ask if the background check had been completed. They informed me everything has been cleared and the embassy is ready to issue the visa. After this point in time I was not able to reach someone at the embassy for around a month (case status on CEAC remained at "Ready" with very sporadic status updated date changes).
After I felt like I had been dragged through the mud enough by the embassy (I believe we were past the 60 day waiting mark at this point), I opened a case with my senator's immigration office.
In between these stages I did reach someone at the immigrant visa unit at the embassy and he told me the visa is ready to be issued but keep waiting, we're busy, bla bla bla. When I pressed, he told me OK, your husband can come next Wednesday to pick up the visa. Of course when he showed up after a long journey, it wasn't ready and everyone else BUT HIM got their visas. At this point we were furious. The very last time I called the embassy, the operator told me I can NO LONGER call about immigrant visa cases. Obviously this woman hates me because I don't truly believe their policy changed. I would like to also note, that I was as polite and friendly as humanly possible every time I called the embassy.
My case worker's first attempt to email the embassy was left unanswered (they give a grace period of around 4 weeks). My case worker informed me they were required to respond to his second attempt (congressional inquiry) within 2 days. Of course, no response. He asked me to give him 1 more week to work on it which I did. Friday of the end of that week, the case went into Administrative Processing on CEAC and the status updated date changed all through the weekend. The following Tuesday it changed to ISSUED.
From the words of my case worker, after his second email got no response, he "made a call to Washington", to get the situation resolved.
If you read through my short novel, I thank you. I am grateful for all of the help we received from this website, and I'm sure I won't be a stranger here. Best of luck to anyone on this hellish voyage, and feel free to contact me for additional advice or questions.

    update:
Hi, everyone, so after around two months waiting, i finally took my oath ceremony on October 14 2015 and i became the US citizen. yeah~~
The entire ceremony took more than 4 hours to complete, which was too long and the room was freezing. But i finally made it to the end. I was very happy and proud of myself. I think there were more than 100 people took their ceremony. The room was fully packed. Everyone was happy when they got the certificat. Good luck everyone

ESTA asks if you have been refused a visa, does not follow that saying yes will not allow you to use the VWP.
Not that I would expect Romania to be a VWP country anytime soon.

So she is a yoga instructor, classically trained in violin, a model, with a 'friend' in the US., no real great work history, no property in Romania, and no other apparent ties to her home country.
I certainly hope you can now see how her 'beauty' had little to do with her denial. Moving forward, stop blaming everyone. Enough talk of suing the government or hiring a lawyer, if you really want this girl here, and it sounds like she is much more than your friend, then start focusing on that, or meeting in a third country.
    good luck

Escalate this to the Costomer Service Department. The Stamp in the passport with has the A-XXX-XXX-XXX number is enough. I says clearly 'Temporary Evidence of I-551 etc etc;. She is being a dik.
We had a problem with a Home Equity Account Line of Credit. They would NOT approve it because the Green Card hadnt been sent...we had a Waiver of Interview. So I threatened to take the matter to the FDIC and file a complaint..'Discrimination againts National Origin' blah blah...
They got scared and approved LOL

That's not suppose to be take your business to another bank they are not the only one in town,
even if they relented I would not do biz there, seem this person that run things there
may have personal issues towards foreigners.
I would also call their corporate office complain & let them know myself , family members & friends
have decided to discontinue biz with their banks.

Shauna&Wael reacted to Pythos1 in How to deal with an EXTREMELY stubborn spouse?
I'm stubborn, too. If a serious downhill possibility shows up in my mind, sometimes my coping mechanism just shuts down my brain, so I deal with it by making it go away. That's a very bad coping mechanism, but it is what it is. And if you persist in continuing the discussion on the topic I have had enough with hearing, it won't do anything except make the veins pop out in my neck. My suggestion would be to try to set up an arguing rule of sorts.
"When you don't want to talk about something anymore, tell me to take 24, and then I can't say anything more about it for 24 hours."
If that rule is in place, it will let him calm down and lose some of his fear. Because the shut-down is fear taking control, and men don't admit to having fear. I know, I am one. (A man who has great difficulty admitting to fear.) And then, when the 24 hours are up, if you still want to talk about it, come at it gingerly, like you're handling an antique china heirloom. Start out with love and compassion and empathy, and angle in on the problem softly.

He can try to hide his intentions, but it won't do him any good in the long run. He is very unlikely to get a tourist visa, and even if by some long shot he did, and they decided to go ahead and get married, she can't petition for him. Neither can he adjust status through her. She herself isn't legally present. I would be willing to make her book her parents aren't either. If she goes out, she's stuck out, so not really able to meet up in a third country either, not without giving her game away. I wouldn't think she'd be likely to give up the lot, for a person she has so far not met.

Do not book anything until you have the visa physically in your hands. Period. There can be unforeseen delays, we have seen it time and again in this forum when people buy tickets and they lose their money because they jumped the gun.

You can do whatever you want. If the visa isn't received in time are you willing to lose out on that money and rebuy another ticket? That's your risk to take. Mine took a month to get and there was no AP.

People don't read enough, they don't pay attention & they believe once
they get a visa they are in...I have said it here B4 its a good idea to clear texts
from phones, If traveling with a laptop careful what you have on facebook,
or in email. You can be asked to go to either in secondary, anything you claim
is locked or you cant remember pwd can cause a denial of entry.
She will need waivers @ $585 each after you petition her & she interviews, its
best to consult with a waiver atty, she has misrep & deportation.
The ban is on all visa OP and maybe marriage would be the best because with the
K1 there will be bumps with them trying to say she intended to enter work , and
adjust thru you....yes the case is doable but keep copies of everything, remember
everything said the case will be scrutinized whichever visa is applied for, and she
will get no visa anytime soon
Everyone should remember loose lips sink ships, some convo you don't put on
the net in a phone (audio or print) ppl watch youtube "Border Security Canada,
    Australia or USA"
