Amhara got a reaction from ANF2014 in I-751 December 2017 Filers [merged threads]
For more context, the article that sounds scary is: https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/changes-to-federal-policies-pave-way-for-sudden-visa-denials-deportation/

    And the actual policy is:

I noticed the article didn’t mention that this policy is related to NTA’s.  If anyone gets an NTA, it’s already bad news, now, you can just get deported faster if the petitioner has committed crimes or are suspected of fraud.  The article seems poorly written to me because so many facts about the policy (which should be the topic) are missing.  Why should we have to read the actual policy if there has been an article published on it to completely understand it?  Anyways...

    Congratulations!

Another VSC case worked within the typical 12 month timeframe.  No indication of processing change, but it’s still great for you!!

No offense taken! At this point I just simply cannot understand their logic as well. So, as for my change of status I did start the process at 17 and started school at 18.

i have been distancing myself from them and their work ever since I did some research because I do not want problems. And my grandparents have promised me my tuition as long as I keep up in my schoolwork.

Defiantly not allowed on f1 status. I also believe on f1 status you have to be actual student not just go once a week..

I think this alone would void your parents visas long time ago. And you just somehow got lucky with your status.

..I highly doubt you can be on one student visa for 17 years. Not to mention your parents had their change of status denied..

I'm no expert but I don't think your family is in the U.S. legally at this point.

I'm fairly certain this website is being maintained and updated manually by a child somewhere between the ages of 3 and 5 who is just learning about the basics of time and computer input.

Yeah I've no clue why I received a transferred letter to "speed up processing" to the slowest service center where it was already at!!!. I'd waste an hour of my life calling but I may as well ask the cat.

I received the transferred to another office to speed up processing letter today. Only issue it's been transferred to California... which is where it was originally. Have to laugh!

Mine literally says the exact same thing (with the same dates and all)! Weird...

So does this mean the case is being processed at your local office and no longer USCIS?  We never received any formal mail regarding this...

Thanks, Coffee!  This will help us!  Good! Now, rather than needing to fight for an appointment in February 2019 to get a stamp (despite us planning to have a USC petition underway) we will have more time!  That’s more realistic!

It’s always been about a year for Vermont. (Based on recent approvals that is holding steady)

I think you're approaching it in the right way, you seem to understand each issue and have lots of evidence to contradict each one of their claims. You should write a cover letter that does the same and list it as "Here is the issue you presented and here is our rebuttal"

Some of those statements on the record are damning - ie "he would never accept a match of this kind in his own culture" so you need to specifically say what he meant by that or how he said what he said.

I think a lawyer that you could pay $500 or so to review your response and evidence submitted would be worth it given the importance of the situation.

Here is the statement in your NOIR:
"Consular Post confirmed through the Pakistan's National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) that the beneficiary is still married to his claimed ex-wife ..."

In plain English your NOIR is saying that it was determined that he was still married.  That is the decision made by that Consular Officer.

You have to accept what has been decided by the Consular Officer and seek professional advice on how to proceed.  I am just trying help you understand the #1 problem in the NOIR.

Amhara reacted to Bandaria in N400 applied with I751 still pending
I applied for ROC in April 2017. At CSC.
    Applied for N400 March 2018.
ROC was moved to NBC shortly after I applied for N400, meaning they will be jointly adjudicated.

N400 speeds depend entirely on the local office in question. I know some users here with a pending ROC who applied in march 2018 for n400 and already have citizenship, because their office was Chicago.

My local office is taking a lot longer due to heavy backlog. So I know my N400/ROC will be adjudicated way later than the time that other April ROC CSC filers will be approved. But I am okay with this, and applied knowing this would happen.

I am okay with this simply because yes, my ROC process is prolonged, but my overall journey to citizenship is sped up! Because had I waited to get the 10 year greencard, THEN applied for the N400, that would add another 6 months to my journey.

So don't worry even if your ROC process is delayed. You will still be in status, and closer to naturalization.

My wife filed the N400 January 2018, 13 months after filing her I751.  We had a joint interview when my wife was scheduled for her N400 interview in April and the I751 was approved a month later.  They finally scheduled the oath ceremony so we are nearing the end of the journey.

They cannot finalize the N400 until the I751 is finalized, but they can approve the N400 (interview and tests) and put you in line for the oath, but it will not be scheduled until the ROC is complete.  In our case, filing the N400 didn't really speed up the ROC (maybe a couple of weeks earlier than others filing in the same timeframe), but since the N400 combined the ROC and started the N400 clock, we are soon to be done with everything rather than waiting for the ROC to file the N400.  Those that waited will now be starting the N400 clock which can vary greatly depending on the field office.
