Contact the consulate through email. Give them your case number and let them know you need to postpone your interview and ask if they can extend the expiration of your I-129F. Not sure how far out you can choose, but if you can choose a date that is far enough away that works for you, then go ahead and do that before emailing them to ask about the petition being extended.
They usually extend them automatically when you schedule an interview past the expiration of the petition, but cannot hurt to ask them and get it in writing that they are extending it for you.

Will not hurt your chances of getting the spousal visa approved. Will just be another petition fee of $420 for the I-130 to start the process, which will take around a year to complete.
The K-1 visa gives up to 6 months before entry, and you could delay the interview process as well, if you want to delay the entry and marriage. The petition can be extended by the consulate. Might be a better option than starting all over again.
    9 FAM 41.81 N6.2 Validity of a K-1 Petition
    (CT:VISA-2165; 08-21-2014)
An approved K-1 visa petition is valid for a period of four months from the date of USCIS action and may be revalidated by the consular officer any number of times for additional periods of four months from the date of revalidation, provided the officer concludes that the petitioner and the beneficiary remain legally free to marry and continue to intend to marry each other within 90 days after the beneficiary's admission into the United States.

It would not have any effect, but I don't think anyone here would advise you to withdraw so close to the finish line. Packet 3 is as you would know 1 packet away from interview and possible issuance. IMO at this juncture you should just finish the process rather than withdraw now and have to spend quite a bit more on that visa initially and wait time of a year in some cases.

You've been apart ONLY for 2 months. Yes, only. People are waiting much, much longer to be with their partners. If you truly love each other, time apart shouldn't be an issue. You already have your NOA2, which I assume came quite fast to you. You should be pretty grateful, actually. Also "visa nonsense"? It takes as long as it needed for them to be sure that no one is trying to commit a fraud.

No specific form necessary to contact your elected reps. Find your senator and congressman's web sites, and on each web site there will be a link for "constituent services". Under that link they will have a form that needs to be filled for "help with a federal agency" (with USCIS being one of the most prominent choices). Fill petitioner's name and case number, and any other information they may ask about, sign the form and send back according to form instructions (my congressman's office accepted form image over the email, senator wanted snail mail).
Once you do that, also write an email to the constituent services (they will usually have an address listed on the same page). You can explain the situation in any way you'd like (probably worth staying civil ). No need to write anything special. it appears that all elected representatives are well aware of the situation at TSC. They do have a direct contact at TSC and at a very least they will forward your request there.
BTW, congressman's assistant wrote to me that they are also following up with NVC. Not sure what that would do, but I certainly appreciate their effort.

As others have said this section of the forum attracts drama and that draws people in like moths to a flame.
Some people definitely overshare, we've all seen the train wreck threads that are like a chat show and reached for the
Sometimes people want to jump in and judge people when all they are asking for is a bit of help with their situation, for example the one earlier where advice was wanted for a divorce and people unnecessarily berated the poster without managing to offer her the advice she wanted. That is the internet, its not going to stop and all the mods can do is delete posts with bickering in and where people breach the TOS.
It would be nicer if people were less judgmental in this section, especially where someone is in a bad situation and just needs fast and accurate advice but if you are going to post in here you are going to get people going through your personal life with a fine tooth comb and people should be aware of that before posting. If I have ever any issues with my relationship I will not be asking for advice in this section, that's for sure

I think this site is an excellent resource, I have learnt alot here. That being said, any online community is going to attract some "fighting" amongst some members. I only formally joined recently but I was coming here now and again to look up topics. I do think that spending too much time here can drive one a little bit crazy, especially because everyone's case is different and people get upset when comparing timelines and so on.

People are free to post or not post as they choose. Avoid insulting each other's replies -- there are more diplomatic ways to disagree with someone's comments or proposed solutions. Report any violations of the VJ Terms of Service (review those first, before reporting). Read the OP's words and topic accurately, interpret them literally, and respond on-topic.

An issue for you not having one? No, I don't remember being on the list of required things. An issue for your wife...maybe. Just depends on which way the wind is blowing that day. It shouldn't really matter but if they see she is using one name there and another on documents they might ask questions, even though it's completely dumb as facebook is not any kind of legal document and simply a social network.

Day 252. And no end in sight... My Fiance has given up on even checking the website! He's been here for 2.5 months already and now I am honestly beginning to think the NOA2 won't arrive before he leaves in the first week of June. It's so hard to have people - family, friends, coworkers - ask "what's up with the visa?" and to have to explain that we just got the short stick in this situation and there is little we can do about it. Called an put in an inquiry, and contacted the our congressman who hasn't given any response back.
We were really hoping to get married this August on our 6th year anniversary. We are really tired of doing long distance for the past 5 years, which I'm sure all of you can relate to. Even that is a comfort, and so thank you all for posting (the good and the bad) because it's nice to know there is an entire community of people who understand this very particular situation and point in all our lives. I hope everyone gets to be with their loved ones soon.

Hey Sandra, yes you are correct. My petition is at the embassy in Moscow. But I kinda feel badly for discussing the subject when there are still those of you who are continuing to wait, even far beyond the amount of time I waited. So I'll make it short; our son David is now an American just the same as any other US citizen. The CRBA on May 7th went well. We are waiting for his US passport to arrive, it should be here by Thursday. Once we have that we can get his Russian International Passport, which will require another two week wait (I paid a ~$300 expedite fee to get the two weeks, otherwise it would have been much longer). With both of those in-hand, David is legal to both depart Russia and enter the USA. I've completed the DS-160, paid the fee and tried to schedule the interview for Elena. But the website stated that they needed to review everything before we can schedule that appointment, so for now we wait. In the end, yes, there is a very real chance that we'll be able to go home together. And *that* is what I fought for so arduously these past few months. So we'll see. Meantime I am staying very busy with general dad duties; I go through various stages of tired, never really sleep enough. The tradeoff for being so tired all of the time is that I'm getting to do way-crazy cool things like teach him about the Roadrunner and Wylie Coyote ... yes I realize that it's absurdly soon for that kind of thing, but why not enjoy it, right?
Ok enough. This was supposed to be short! Again, I'll be around rooting and praying for all of you fellow September filers who have endured so much via such a long wait! You've definitely had it rough! Once everyone is in the US and settled, we all oughta have a meetup somewhere to celebrate the LONG journey!

Believe it or not but there actually is in the US. In the OP's case, the boy is over 18 and the girl is under 16, which, in the eyes of the law, makes him an adult and she a child. If people see them kissing, someone can actually call the police to say a man is molesting a child..... Massachusetts is a liberal state but honestly, why risk it when she'll turn 16 in less than six months?!?! The best that can happen with him travelling to the US to visit his girlfriend is that they have a wonderful time and then he goes home. The worst that can happen is that he ends up in prison and becomes a registered sex offender. Not worth it!

This is the difference between being approved in 4 weeks vs being approved after 8 months:
    Quick approval reaction:
"Yay! I'm so happy. We only sent our petition at the beginning of the month and we were just approved last night. I'm going to go pack away the laundry and will check in with you all later."
    Long, agonizing wait reaction:
"OMG I can't breathe. I'm shaking and crying and just so relieved that they didn't lose our petition because we were seriously starting to wonder ... I mean how is it possible that a few forms can vanish into a black hole for 8 months?"
This alone should be a glaring sign that something is terribly wrong with the system.
Congratulations to the recent approvals. To those still waiting, we are still here, waiting to celebrate with you.

I agree with those people who say you need to check your fiances intentions. If you're aware of it, at the interview they'll be aware of it.

When my fiance and I thought we found something that might get us denied, our reaction wasn't "GOD THIS IS TO HARD". No we had a good cry and then we said, well if it happens then we try again when we can, even if it's a year or two from now, we will be together, we have to be patient to have the reward.

We've been together a couple of years already, we'd wait more years if we had too. If we get RFE's, we take a deep breath and we fix it together.

Granted everything worked out, but neither of our reactions were to just throw in the towel. This is a hard process.

Make sure your fiance is involved in the process, make sure she knows how it works. Sit down and have a conversation about the steps taken, how long the average time takes, what happens if you get an RFE. Her reactions could be a great signal for future reactions to things that don't work out well.

Threatening to leave the relationship because the visa process is not going fast enough has nothing to do with passing MY bar, it is plain bizarre !
It is not ok to spew this just because she is frustrated and mad like a spoiled child, needs to be supportive instead.
That's my opinion. Period. Crying, tears yes.... but threatening to leave ? Seriously ?

    Hello
I had a healthy 5 1/2 month wait for the Texas service center but it did get through eventually. You are two months down, they are shipping out work to the other centers, so hopefully the July date will not slip. You have no guarantee that if you cancel and resubmit that the new one won't end up being kept at the TSC for processing; so you may just end up extending your wait!
Hang tight, things will move. Once you are through that stage the rest of the process is pretty quick.
    Good luck.

    Hi Mewbear and Dana-Kristen,
Absolutely! I plan to hang around and support the remainder of the September filers until we're all approved. I hope that's ok; I don't wanna irk anyone by being present when the approval has already came through for me. Anyway I'm here to offer support and empathy, though many of you have surpassed my 221 days by now. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your respective loved ones during this ordeal!
Thank both of you for asking about Elena and David. I don't recall what I've posted regarding the matter, so forgive me if this is a repeat. Between diaper-changing and burping duties, amongst others I don't have time right now to go back and take a look. Anyway, both mom and son are doing well. There were no complications with the birth, for which I was quite grateful. I have the CRBA scheduled for next Thursday, as it was the first available. The tall pole in the tent remains the fiance visa. They held onto my petition for 9 days at the TSC prior to sending it to the NVC; and it's unclear just how long it will require during that pit stop enroute to the embassy in Moscow. Fortunately between the 2 weeks of paternity leave and the vacation time I've saved during the past couple of years, I will be able to stay here for a little while. Just not sure if it'll be enough time for us to return together as a family. I plan to ask the folk in the embassy if there's any possibility of an expedited interview date for Elena while we are there for the CRBA thing, though not holding out much hope for that. Anyway, we'll see. There's a chance of it all coming together, but not a great one. As wbeem and others have said, the TSC and USCIS are definitely not on the wedding invitation list, nor the Christmas card list nor anything else. LOL
For whatever reason, not many folk post pictures on VJ. I suspect it has something to do with privacy reasons or the like; perhaps they don't want to put anything out there that the USCIS could "use against them" or something along those lines. Or they just don't want the many thousands of people who frequent VJ to see their pictures. Be all of that as it may, I've posted a pic in the past and would like to offer a couple more. I don't want this to come across in any way "negative" or like I'm celebrating some type of victory now that I have my NOA2. In fact, it's kinda the opposite. There's a very good chance that I'll need to leave them behind due to the TSC delays; so please take that into consideration. But at the moment I am trying to not focus on all of that and just enjoy what time we have together. Being grateful for what we have and just doing the best to achieve the goal of good family life. That's where I (we) am (are) right now. That said, picture 1 is the new budding family as we left the hospital and picture 2 is dad and son once we were home. Perhaps these can give y'all some hope; and having said that, it almost seems a bit trite to think that it would have that effect. But oh well, that's the hope and reason I share this glimpse behind the VJ scenes into our lives. Now if the remainder of the process would just cooperate!
Y'all hang tough. I'm praying for you!

It's possible that it wasn't you. It wouldn't be the first time submitted documentation has been misplaced at a service center (CSC included). It seems like the letters usually arrive within a week of the RFE notice. Here's hoping it's something simple and a quick fix.

But! Someone has touched your file! You know it wasn't lost or tossed, at least! Also, correct me if I'm wrong (and I very well could be) but an RFE just means the case is on hold until you send more information, right? And once you do, they continue on with it? I doubt the wait will be that bad! Keep your chin up; an end is close to being in sight for you.
My file still has the possibility of being lost or tossed.... haha

Yes I use my full name on other parts of the internet too.
But not on an immigration forum, and especially not if I was parading my supposed naivety and gullibility in public and talking about personal relationships. I've looked through many posts on here, and this poster is the only one who registered with firstname + surname (though when challenged now says its just a partial name).
I wonder what happens when Basim comes across this thread? Might have been better to use a completely made up name, considering the content of the posts, the doubts raised about the relationship etc.
The clues are there. And the story is ridiculous. This isn't even a good troll, or particularly amusing, other than the balcony thing of course which I have to admit was pretty good (I lived in the middle east for quite a while).
