The other thing that is more likely is the ISO is comparing the date of the marriage and the evidence you sent it. This is so true. I am all for using technology for my benefit, but yes, there are definitely drawbacks involved. For instance, I will not connect any home appliances to the net, no connected garage door, or thermostat, etc. Sure there is a measure of convenience to doing this, but there are also drawbacks that I would rather not deal with.

I agree, no need for a new DS160, just continue the K1 with the current passport number, start the passport renewal process (take a phot of the current passport bio page in case Nigeria does not return the expired passport), and update the information with the consulate officer when the K1 interview come up. With all the errors we see in AI output regarding immigration, it seems AI is not really all there yet and may never be as long as there are people and algos able to control the output. If this is correct, the parents claims, it could be a big hit, and I can see others jumping on the bandwagon in a myriad of social engineering claims. This is what we did back when my now wife and I were pursuing a K1 for her. We focused on the K1 and eventual AOS, and then once she had her GC we had a wedding celebration with our family in Russia. It worked out quite well.
