This is incorrect. The I-9 form specifically states that the employee must(!!) not provide the A# information, or information about their citizenship or otherwise until offer of employment has been made. This is to prevent discrimination between different types of work authorized people.

You are mixing this up with an employer's need to verify work authorization *after* having made an offer of employment. Of course, it is appropriate to request information for this process (through the I-9 form).

I'm not sure how many times I have to write the same thing, but again this is incorrect. An I-9 is required to be on file for employees, sure, but again you are not required to fill in an I-9 form until you are offered employment. An employer is not permitted to verify your employment status until you fill in an I-9 form which, again, you are not required to do (in fact, not permitted to do, according to the form instructions) until offered a job.

Sounds like a slam dunk for a refusal.

As long as all your other citizenships allow multiple citizenships (which I'm pretty sure they do) you don't have to renounce anything for US citizenship.

You can't 'sponsor' anyone for a tourist visa. No such thing. 
Mom applies, (you can help fill out the ds160 and pay the fee), and interviews at the embassy. 

No such thing as sponsoring tourist visas. It is a huge misconcention in immigration. Your mother will have to apply on her own and show strong ties to her country.
 
Letters or documents from a close relative in the US sometimes hurt the applicants case rather than help.

There is nothing YOU can do to ensure they are granted the visa. There is no such thing as a letter of invitation which would ensure the visa is issued, and providing said evidence can actually work against them.
 
Your in laws need to apply for the B2 and be issued the visa on their own merits.

As for their visas, they apply directly to the US post with jurisdiction over their place of residence; you have no involvement in the process, and they would need to demonstrate to the officer's satisfaction that they would return home at the end of their visit.
