Your agent will go over every bit of your N-400 application for accuracy.

I wrote up my additional travel and he added it in. Thus, I think the format is irrelevant.

The GC is not for ID purposes, so having his driver's license does not substitute. He has a reason for not having the greencard. And he has the I-551 in his passport to show, which equals a greencard.

It's not quite true to say this isn't accurate, nor that it's worst case scenario.

    According to USCIS:
The low end of the range for pilot forms shows the time it takes to complete 50 percent of cases, and the high end shows the time it takes to complete 93 percent of cases. (https://www.uscis.gov/news/news-releases/uscis-updates-webpage-share-more-accurate-processing-times)

Additionally it appears true that those with pending I-751s may move up in the pile. When the I-751 gets sent to your local office, they can't adjudicate it while an N-400 is pending, so they combine the two.  Our case status was saying completion in November 2019 but we had our interview last week.

Yes we did have pending RoC. I thought for sure he'd ask me to join the interview for that reason, but really the RoC seemed like an afterthought.

I brought hundreds of pages of documentation proving a bona fide marriage, including photos, and he didn't look at anything except additional travel history. I believe this was because our i-751 and n-400 filings were strong enough that no follow up/double checking was needed during the interview. Most RoC filers (without concurrent n-400) aren't even required to come in for an interview. I was also told by a lawyer friend that the spouse may receive an interview notice if deemed necessary.

As to your question about not having your GC, that document will be provided during the interview. Applicants not having their GCs is quite common now that case processing times are so high, so no worries there.

Our income tax statement was all that he asked for from us.  He didn't ask about pictures or anything. He actually said the income tax statement and our childs birth certificate was all that he needed.  I had a very pleasant officer though.

I guess you have to camp out at the mailbox and wait anxiously for delivery. At least you know you'll have an answer today. 😀

Same situation here. Photo copy is fine, plus state ID and passport. I also brought copies of the I--551 stamps. They'll have you fill out a form explaining why you don't have the green card. You must bring this form to the oath ceremony.

Does your husband have a state or driver license? I assume one of  those count as a form of ID. If I were your husband, I will carry the I-551 and a photocopy of the expired GC. Also if you have the extension letter, let him carry it to the interview as well.

Thank you to @corvusheart for chiming in to my question and giving me peace of mind. I just clicked submit today for my husband's N400 app (also got 2018 taxes done too so that was included in the application).

techinically, USCIS doesnt require you the proof of employment at the time of application or interview. BUT, who else doesnt want to have a job and money to support themselves?  there are many factors affecting your N400 approval. but the office will not reject or delay  your case process by solely because you dont have job.

plus, does house-wife or husband taking care of baby count as a type of "full-time " job with no pay ?

The key here is that if you had a job in the U.S., left the country for 6 months or more, and didn't keep your job, UCSIS looks at that as you cutting ties with the US and therefore not maintaining continuous residence.  The more important piece is your residency.  If you're no longer keeping a place to live in the US that's a huge red flag to USCIS.

There are of course other considerations and I strongly encourage you to review the above link if you're concerned about this requirement.

My husband just secured a new job a couple weeks ago. The manager asked him to email her the two forms of ID. He did passport with stamp and state ID. She didn't prompt for the USCIS I-9 form. He filled it out and attached it to email anyway. He submitted it the day before he started. A few weeks later to now she says he has to fill out forms on the companies website. One of the things he was prompted to do on the website was fill out a digital version of the I-9 again. So he went ahead and did it. But on the I-9 it says he must submit it before first day of work. This digital one was submitted 2 weeks after but the paper one was submitted before he started. So what now? Is USCIS going to think it's weird there's two submitted? Will he get in trouble for submitting a second one after his start date? And does USCIS even look at the I-9 form? Is it submitted to USCIS at all thru employer? Or does it stay in house at his job?
