Don't lie.
Not because someone's god says not to, but because it certainly won't help here.

G-325A is NO longer needed. Please take note.
Whatever info entered into a form must be the truth. Do not lie.

SteveKarlaMayer reacted to Roel in N400 without any GC application?
It's kind of funny, that now she will have to actually go through all that process - starting from applying for the green card. And then waiting few more years when she's eligible for the citizenship. Which she might have issues getting because of the illegal stay/illegal work. She will spend the money anyway.

SteveKarlaMayer reacted to Going through in N400 without any GC application?
Keyword there is LEGAL.

SteveKarlaMayer reacted to Going through in N400 without any GC application?
I would love to know where she got her information from, though...

SteveKarlaMayer reacted to kzielu in N400 without any GC application?
Have her read the requirements for N400 - particularly 5 years (3 years in case of marriage to USC) of being permanent resident.
Not only she's going to waste that $725, she can also be deported at anytime as she does not have legal status right now.

SteveKarlaMayer reacted to Going through in N400 without any GC application?
Your friend is horribly misinformed, and is about to receive a shock of her own too when she applies for the N400.
-
SteveKarlaMayer reacted to Roel in N400 without any GC application?
This is not how it works..
If she never had a green card that means she lived and worked in the USA illegaly. She will not get a citizenship. Furthermore she is right now deportable.

SteveKarlaMayer got a reaction from mallafri76 in I want a divorce but don't want him to stay here
Just my two cents, file a divorce and get full custody of your son, the kid needs a permanent home. Your husband will need to work so he can remove the condition on his own. I'm sorry you're going through this.

SteveKarlaMayer reacted to Pitaya in When Can I Apply N-400? Help. So confused.
easily accessible at the top of the forum page. In particular, the US Naturalization (N-400) Requirements: http://www.visajourney.com/content/naturalization_requirements . The other guides in that section are also quite informative.
Good luck on your immigration journey.

Family Members of U.S. CitizensSpouses of U.S. Citizens
Generally, certain lawful permanent residents married to a U.S. citizen may file for naturalization after residing continuously in the United States for three years if immediately preceding the filing of the application:
the applicant has been married to and living in a valid marital union with the same U.S. citizen spouse for all three years;
the U.S. spouse has been a citizen for all three years and meets all physical presence and residence requirements; and
the applicant meets all other naturalization requirements.

SteveKarlaMayer reacted to POA in When Can I Apply N-400? Help. So confused.
Hi,
Within 90 days prior your 3rd year as a GC holder. If your conditional GC expiration date is April 1, 2016, then you will be eligible to apply within 90 days prior April 1, 2017. 3 years as a GC holder if you are currently married to the same USC or 5 years GC holder if unmarried to a USC (divorced/ family visas or other immigrant visas).

SteveKarlaMayer got a reaction from ethomps in Was I supposed to receive my medical results back after K1 interview?
Your medical result is yours to keep. You will need them especially the record of immunization or other physical exam when filing AOS, otherwise you'd be required to submit a sealed form I-693 signed by a civil surgeon.

SteveKarlaMayer got a reaction from menina in Can you leave and re-enter the US while on a K1 visa?
Unfortunately, you can't do that. K1 visa is only 1 entry visa. Which means, you can't leave outside the US territory unless you already have green card or advance parole. They won't let you enter the USA once you travel outside its territory while holding only a K1 visa.

SteveKarlaMayer got a reaction from meagan in USC husband changes his mind
I'm so sorry that your relationship is on a bumpy road right now. But what you should really do for your own good and your child's good is to stay in the Philippines. This petitioner seems so irresponsible to do that to you and HIS child. Imagine a future with him. Lets say he change his mind and would allow you and the child to come over in the USA and then a month or so you will have a misunderstanding with you and then he would do the same crazy BS. You will be left behind with nothing.

SteveKarlaMayer reacted to KayDeeCee in Is it possible to apply AOS after the 90 days of K1 visa?
This is asked often. There is no deadline to file for AOS. As long as you marry within 90 days of entry with the K-1, and never leave the US, then you are eligible to file for AOS. However, you will be out of status when your I-94 expires and cannot travel and re-enter the US, work, and most likely not be able to get a license or state ID until you file for AOS and get your EAD/AP or green card. You won't be deported, but there is a small chance of being detained while out of status. Once you file for AOS, you will be a new period of authorized stay. Just file as soon as you can.
~ Moved from K-1 Process to AOS from Family Based Visas- topic about AOS, not K-1 ~

SteveKarlaMayer reacted to Hypnos in Is it possible to apply AOS after the 90 days of K1 visa?
You can apply for AoS after you get married at any point you wish, but you must have married within the original 90 days to be able to do so. Once that is done, you can submit the I-485 (and supporting documents) at any point, but will be out of status (and therefore deportable) from the day the I-94 expires until the day the I-485 is accepted for processing by USCIS.
If you marry after the original 90 days from PoE you can still file for AoS but would need to also file an I-130, since you did not fulfill the terms of the K-1 visa by marrying within 90 days.

SteveKarlaMayer reacted to Penguin_ie in What is my Port Of Entry???
You can choose to fly whereever you want. BUT the first airport inside the USA/ US territory is always your POE. So your POE will be LAX, and you cannot chose to do the paperwork in Houston.
-
SteveKarlaMayer reacted to KayDeeCee in What are the step-by-step process of AOS for K1?
After about 10 days, file for your SSN > http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn
Before or after the SSN, get your marriage license. Get married within 90 days of entry. Get your certified marriage certificate back from the court.
Read through the AOS guide and the form instructions before filing > http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos
If you have an interview, you will need evidence of co-mingling finances and co-habitation.

Hang on. Some cases took a little longer from the service center to NVC. Ours took 1 month and 7 days. We were approved last April 22 and got our case number by May 29. Just keep sending them emails and calling them. God bless.
