Married almost 1 1/2 years and together for 3 1/2 years. Everything is great.. I'm back from our second visit to see her family and she is coming home Friday. Lucky girl missed the brutal cold snap we had here in MN..
We have our arguements but we get over them very fast and typically its because of misunderstanding language or a cultural difference. Occasionally she will drink and we will go at it a bit because filipina's can't hold their booze, hahaba but all is great and working out better then I had planned. To add, we had lived together in the Phils for 1 year so I knew what I was getting into and I love it...

Hank said it.. Just make sure she has copies of license and CC.. My fiancee at that time flew Delta. I bought her the ticket using miles and I went to the delta ticket counter here in MSP and they entered info
In the computer and showed me she put no CC verification needed for the girls in Manila..

I was forced to work there on occasion with my last company... A long with some filipino professional trade workers that worked for me... I have seen and heard the worse.. I care not to ever go back there, ever!!!! I was offered a job 6 months ago in Riyahd making 150k a year with housing allowance and for sure my wife could get work there.. We would also get free travel to and from the PI every 3 months with 3 weeks off. I not only said NO, HELL NO!! Money isn't everything as I have learned, making half of what I made working abroad, because now my two boys are a huge part of my life..

Are you writing all this down? Make a list and study it and go over it. Lots of great info for you over the last several weeks.. I took notes......

So how has everyone been treated while visiting or living in the Phils?
Personally, i have lived there for a few years and when I wasn't, I was visiting on a monthy or every two months. I have been all over the country north of Mindanau and I have never once had an issue. Other than the small petty things like having to pay a little more in a taxi because I didn't quote first...

Always the best to walk upstairs to the arrival area and get a cab dropping off someone. Make sure you say meter and no excuses.. Their not expecting the fair and its a bonus..
The embassy is close but its the traffic(time of day) that will make a 10 minute drive into an hour. Also, Bayview Park hotel is across the street if he is playing stupid..

Agreed. These issues about money should be hammered out before she is even your fiancee. What happens when you are visiting and hanging around the family? Are they asking for money?
I have a friend who lives in the PI and his wife( pushed by the family) has gotten way out of hand with money. They have to have everything now and if not, some kind of emergency arises. It's 100% his fault because they didn't talk about finances or set any allowances before getting married. Now they have a 1 year old princess and holy ###### it's surprising the stories now...

I agree with those that say start the I 130 process. They are extremely strict about leaving during the AOS process, you both new that. And he didn't even try an emergency infopass appointment where I have heard that during emergency situations they will approve an AP on the spot. Also, it seems suspicious that he couldn't re-schedule this hearing and it came so fast without warning. If i'm suspicious, so is our government. Good luck.
