If you are a qualified with a degree in a sought after career field such as Accounting, IT, Engineering, Applied Sciences.. YOU will get a job in the USA.
My wife recently accepted a position with an accounting company for $65,000. She has an accounting / MIS degree, 4 yrs of experience overseas. She came here on a K1 in March, we got her Green card in few months, and she was working part time in an office til green card came.
She was applying non stop to companies, networking.
The economy is slowing coming back up, but, you need to be persistent and determined to a job. In the meantime, take classes, improve your skills, get certified.. It helps ALOT

Quite frankly, this is quite odd ... The girl is dealt this tragic loss of her significant other, and in time of mourning, she all of a sudden finds a 'new' fiance, and ready to jump into a new relationship. Call me crazy, but, there's no way USCIS would should allow her to remain here.. She needs to go back and re-start the process and validate the new relationship is legitimate w/ proper documentation,etc..

    Anurag,
With a MBA and 5 yrs working with a US Company in India, plus green card.. my question is where are u interviewing? And how did your interviews go? Not to sound mean, but, alot of jobs requiring MBA w/ professional exp. are about relationships and selling yourself at the interview. They want to know more about YOU and less about your educational path. I have the same problem you are encountering w/ Indian IT guys coming here and having difficulties. Have your resume critiqued by a professional, they are very helpful. Go to free interviewing sessions at local colleges or practice interviewing .. Reason I say this is the corporate HR culture is vastly different here vs. India. Find out what you may be lacking in the interview process and possibly get recommendations on improving.. All the best..

It may be very difficult to ascertain 2011 TAX papers at his time in January, simply, no banks, employers or investment firms provide the 1099R, w2 so early in the year. You will need to wait at a minimum end of January / early Feb to collect all papers and file your 2011 returns. Then, it would make sense to provide this info. to the embassy, else, having 2010,2009 and 2008 IRS transcripts from IRS would suffice.

    Mohsin,
Actually the embassy does have the right to ask for tax returns dating back more than 3 yrs only if it's deemed the petitioner's financial responsibility may be questionable in terms solid income history, funds. As long as income level of the petitioner is over the required for example $35,000 year or above, then, the 3 yrs of taxes is fine. When the income levels are bordering the minimum or below, which I don't recall the exact income, then, they have to make sure and check the income history ( 4 yrs ) and make sure the average weights more than minimum requirement. Even then, the embassy will likely scrutinize the application process.
If the K1 interview will be in February or March, then, yes, it would be great to provide a completed 2011 Tax return as evidence especially, if the petitioner's income went up so prove a more solid case.

Spending money on a wedding is all relative to your budget , and what you feel comfortable. Some folks will spend $5000, while others may spend $100,000. It's a personal thing b/t the couple.

Sorry u feel that way. But if you live in the USA, get used to it. It's not being impatient. It's about having CHOICES in life. There's a reason why millions of people around the world want to leave their HOMELANDS and come here? Because USA is such an impatient and ruthless country? No, it's because you can come here with few hundred dollars in your pocket. Work hard and become something. It's called a democratic market economy where your value is determined by your level of work. Simple concept.
I have been living here since age of 5 and my parents came here without much. And through hard work, my parents are comfortably retired now. My finished my master's from ivy league, and have a very good job and because of hard work. So I know what I am talking about. So if I want to have choices in life to get something faster and pay for it, then, why do you have a problem w/ that?

First of all , this is a public forum. If someone can't handle an opinion to a topic which they are seeking advice, shouldn't be asked. Criticism is not a bad thing, but it makes someone realize a different perspective. The USCIS examiners always assume each application has a potential fraud case because they are trained to look for that. If they didn't, K1 visa process would be 1 week long, piece of cake, no worries. BUT its NOT, because US government wants some level of assurance sure that marriages wont be shams and girls coming here aren't being exploited or victimized.
Now, to the gentlemen who posted the question.
Correct. It is his life and his fiance's decision. But his question asked, will this raise a flag in the eyes of USCIS, and I would have to say it certainly will. Regardless of where the girl is coming from, she will be living in the USA under the norms of this country, where it's not normal for a girl of such an age to marry a gentleman of his age. When the K1 application is looked at and such an age disparity is given, more scrutiny will be placed and questions raised.
My advice to the gentleman. I hope he has a bulletproof petition with several trips to his fiancee, pictures with her family and letters of intent attesting to the relationship. Good luck to him

First of all, that really sucks to hear. Talk about bad luck. Yes you need the original NOA 2 document. Utmost importance to have on file.
I would advise the petitioner to file a Police Report. This way a proper acknowledgement of theft is recorded by the police for recordkeeping.
State to the cops what was stolen, contents.
Once you have the Police Report, contact USCIS and explain them the situation. If they require the Police Report you will have it.
Hopefully you guys can get a new NOA1 and NOA2 very soon. It's already in the system, just a matter of printing new copies and sending them to you

It's funny most tea party and republicans want the following
LESS Government in very aspect of our lives.
    More Liberties
    More Freedom
Less Taxation for 'Corporations' and Less Taxation for Wealthy Americans
Yes on the basic issues which involve social issues
Gay Marriage --- They WANT government to butt in and Decide for You
Abortion -- They WANT government to butt in and Decide for You
Patriot Act -- They WANT more government intrusion into the activities of US Citizens.
How ironic and hypocritical is that? I am glad Cain at least spoke the truth and distanced himself from the other cookie-cutter Republican contenders, but, like someone said, most Republicans are socially super conservative and he will be negatively impacted by speaking out.

I think some countries are prone to more scrutiny simply because there is a large online dating (match making) industry where US government fears fraudulent marriages may take place, so they are extra careful. I am not saying it right or wrong, but, maybe the reason we see delays in petition approvals..
Just remember there are hundreds upon hundreds on this forum who are legit and going about the right way to bring loved ones, but thousands of others who try to come illegally, which pose a greater problem to this country in the long run. So for that reason alone, USCIS has to be diligent and through. Unfortunately in this process , some have to wait and be patient. I guess that's a small price pay to come to this country.

"tax evasion isn't in the field of jurisdiction of the immigration department. ".. Not isn't entirely true.
By virtue of not filing taxes as a US Citizen, and having earned a large cash income base, while attempting to document this will be a big problem when your application is reviewed. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but, IRS comes after even small time evaders, and simply thinking immigration will overlook this is highly naive.
If you going to sponsor someone, I would advise to file back taxes, and get yourself in the IRS system so you can
    A. Legitimize your payments of taxes to the government. Be clear of red flags down the road.
    B. Establish your creditability for immigration and IRS
    Good luck

    1. You are divorced and you are raising the kids, by yourself.
    2. Your family in the US isn't supportive and not helping w/ co sponsorship.
    3. A US Citizen going to Canada is not difficult at all, in fact, many are moving due to the bad economy.
    4. Your children will miss their dad, but, Canada is not like going to Saudi Arabic, it's a short plane ride from US or even driving distance.
    5. If Rick has a good job and stable in Canada, he can marry you there, and support you there, plus health care as a married women is much better given your medical condition.
I understand your frustration, but, there are many plus points about going to Rick vs. him coming here.

Congrats on the engagement party, but, why no pictures of you two exchanging rings, or sitting together w/ family? I think that's the probably the best evidence you can show the immigration folks.
