If you read up on the latest reports regarding the training of FBI agents, you'll have to realize that the consensus is that if you eliminate all Muslims from the pool of potential terrorists, there would only be a handful of crazy people left. I dare to imagine that excluding all foreign Muslims from the United States (as impossible as this would be) would bring terrorism on U.S. shores to a screeching halt. Game over.
On the same token, 9//11 would have never happened. Not every Muslim is a potential terrorist, of course not, but with very few exceptions, every terrorist that is out to harm the United States is a Muslim.
The problem is not the Muslims' religion per se, as that is only part of the Judeo-Christian line, but the implied actions that lure extreme fundamentalists to do things that promise them martyrdom and all those yummi virgins as a reward.
There are now quite a few Muslims against Jihad, and I like to compare this to Jews for Jesus. They are not being accepted by their peers and seen as traitors of their religion.

I think liking as person solely for being muslim is as negative as hating them solely for that reason.

Calcutta doesn't have an IV unit. Your SO will be interviewing at Mumbai. Forget about connections, the COs are above influence. I doubt even a phone call from the White House would change their mind.
I gather you're not of Indian origin and belong to different race and religion. How did you two meet? This will become crucially important given your vast age difference which is definitely NOT okay within Indian cultural norms. You will also need his parents/family approval for this to even have a shot. Time to start your research!

I really don't care how you respond to me. I care about helping people understand what to do to have a successful outcome. It doesn't help to confuse them by calling a petition a visa, etc. If you want to help, then learn the terminology and use it correctly. Until you do, you do more harm than good.

I know of several successful MENA-American relationship and they are your everyday, average lovely couples who've been married for several (7-15) years. These are folks I interact on a daily basis with. The white/MENA couples usually have 2 kids. The women have converted to Islam although none of them wear the hijab.
Two points stuck out to me that showed a very different picture than the one I see often on VJ:
    1) These couples usually met in some third country (usually in the middle east) on work related trips (nursing, air hostess), or the MENA guy was in the US on a work visa/ student visa and/or already had his papers sorted. None of this online/FB stuff.
    2) Also, crucially important, all of them are similar in age/ level of attractiveness. No one looks like a grandma or a model.

Unfortunately, this is true in most states. In California, illegal immigrants can even pay in-state tuition if they can prove they went to high school in the state. Seems counter productive to subsidize the education of someone who will never be able to work legally in the state.

In MENA countries it does. CO looks at what is customary for a specific country and what is not. Things are complicated by the fact that there is a huge number of fraudulent marriages where younger men from MENA marry older women from US to get visa either through paying to these women or through lying about relationship. It affects other people that are true.

My God people! Have some compassion! She's just having a down moment and has turned to the only other source of support she can get for encouragement. Instead she gets opinions and "who's situation is worse" comments. What's the point in having an online community for support if you CAN'T SUPPORT!?
Relax sister. We know what you are going through. Yes, there are worse scenarios out there, but it doesn't make it easier does it? We just take it day by day and know that in the end this will all be a grand story we can tell our grandchildren one day. Right now we dream of just the next time we can talk, but soon we will be rewarded with waking up every morning by their side. We won't have to worry about how much longer we can keep our eyes open while chatting till the wee hours of the morning. Instead we will be holding them tightly as we lay together. My biggest fear is she doesn't get tired of me when I'm available to her every minute of every day. LOL.
All we can do is relish in the fact that we DO have each other and we WILL be together soon. Hang in there! It will all be just a memory soon

So you don't want your parents to be able to file for/help your sister? Is her being single and 23 the problem? I'm just getting some weird vibe from you. I hate to say this but I see men in the ME and Muslim countries not very fair to their women. I hope I am very very wrong about this about you (assuming you are a man). And I wish I would say, it is none of my business and stop butting my nose. But (regardless of whether you are a man or woman) if you have issues with your sister because she does not toe your line/ or does not see eye to eye, but her own father is willing to file for her, then you should let HIM deal with her. File for your father. What he does with his daughter, you can wash your hands and have nothing to do with her at that point. But trying to deny your father something because it may subsequently benefit your sister paints a not so good picture of you.

If your parents aren't wanting to live in the US anyway, then a Greencard isn't for them. It will be revoked if they aren't living in the US. You said you only did this so they don't have to renew their tourist visa. A Greencard is not a permanent tourist visa.

IIRC, the first step in an Armenian wedding is blessing the rings. The couple is not married at that point, and presumably the idea was to stop there. Wedding interruptus. Bad idea, very bad idea. Very easily misconstrued as a wedding by someone unfamiliar with the details of the church's protocols.
USC and fiance from Kuwait - wait till you get to the US before you go near an Armenian church.

This thread is a good opportunity to remind everyone to avoid referring to each other as "husband" & "wife" in actual e-mails or messages, and also to check the TITLES of e-mail and chat logs to ensure that those words aren't there, either. Gary's post above is excellent advice.

Not correct. USCIS (petition) has no need for emails for any reason and these are put to the back of the file as extra "stuff". The adjudicator completes a checklist and if everything they need is there, they approve the petition. They probably never even look at the emails. A petition is not a visa. USCIS does not concern itself with visa fraud at the petition stage and the people that see it are not trained to look for that. However, when that same packet gets forwarded to the consulate it WILL get reviewed.
The issue of visa fraud will come up when a visa is applied for, not before. Being approved by USCIS only gives you a valid reason to APPLY for a visa, it does NOT mean you will get one.

Not correct. No recommendation to issue the visa, so no. If I thought your suggestion would be faster or better, I would have suggested it. I explained the problem that must be overcome. A reaffirmed petition does NOT overcome this problem and is NOT a recommendation to issue a visa.

Agreed. I'm not suggesting they should continue with the K1, even if it's reaffirmed. However, getting married and filing a CR1 petition doesn't automatically stop them from readjudicating the returned K1 petition. They could still get a NOIR. If they do then they need to respond to it, even if they've already filed a CR1 petition. Not responding to a NOIR would result in the K1 petition approval being revoked, which could result in a finding of fraud against the beneficiary. They would be denied the visa at the CR1 interview, and told to submit an I-601 waiver request.

You cannot compare your case with the OP's. You filed the I-130 for a spouse.
They are going through the K-1 which is a fiance visa. It makes a world of difference.

This is very serious and should NOT be taken lightly. Couples are routinely denied K-1 visas because something like this tipped off the CO and made them believe the couple was married.
