dwheels76 replied to MyNigerianKING's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
You are DQ'd you are fine. That's a glitch they have. IL's just went out DQ dates for 1st week of January 2021 so far. So now you are 15 month wait.- 10 replies

Should change to sent to Department of State Usually all happens within a week. Welcome letter from NVC usually comes in a few days to a week or so.

AP is not under the same timelines as regular interviews. You are in extended AP. If you feel you have a cut and dry case and no wahala you should file a WOM (Writ of Mandamus) cost about $4000. Or you can wait out the process. What was the AP about what documents were they needing to investigate.? Were you married before in Nigeria? How long was your Interview? what was asked for after interview? Has your wife contacted her Senator, Congressmen? What have ya'll done on your help to get a response? Contacting Lagos does nothing they do not take emails unless they sent you one.

Interview schedule
dwheels76 replied to Lmum's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Right now Ghana is in Aug/Sept 2020. So you have a wait of over 18 months. Hopefully it improves over time. -
You can view my spreadsheet Case Complete to Interview Spreadsheet To update your interview date go here. Case Complete to Interview Form For New people to the thread please go Case Complete to Interview Form and input your information in the form and it will be added to the form. Everyone should be clicking on the Portal tab to visit the information for their country. If nothing is there or information needs updating. Update or add. Its up to all of us to keep this information current, relevant and helpful to others. Special Note: Different consulates or embassies have strict guidelines as to what type of bags/purses/cellphones etc can be carried in. And whether they provide any lockers (or not) for temp storage. As many travel from far away (by air/train/cars, one needs to specially know what they will not be able to take inside the consulate and where to store their personal belongings. Here are some FAQ and other tidbits that may be useful to you. Be sure to visit your countries portal and click on the Consular Information and also Consular reviews. FAQ How long after Documentarily Qualified (DQ'd) will I get an interview? With the worldwide pandemic this no longer is a timing thing. The embassies/NVC have been trying their best to fill in dates . There's no certain time any month. With F category being banned and now can be scheduled and K1's that were put aside backlogs for all embassies are great. So just watch your countries forum for DQ dates being scheduled and report back and keep us all up to date also Do I have to call for my interview date? You will get a Interview Letter when scheduled so just be sure to watch if you know they are scheduling for your DQ date. I need to change our interview date what do I do? Once you receive your interview date track your casefile. Call NVC ask when your casefile left. Then contact your embassy (email is best) and ask to be rescheduled later, earlier just ask. What do I need to bring to interview? When you receive your P4 Letter (Interview letter) it will have your personalized checklist of things to bring or not. It has been suggested because things have been lost between NVC and embassy to bring everything (Originals) to the interview so if they don't have at embassy you aren't delayed. It's up to you. It doesn't happen much but it does happen. How to expedite at NVC? Go to this link has good information how to go about it. http://boureypeatnut...m/expedite.html Just to remind everyone to revisit the NVC Process Wiki, NVC Process Wiki ******************************* Thanks to Fabian&Ross for spelling this all out. Once you get the interview letter reference this. I have revised abit the expedite request but she did all the work. EXPEDITE at NVC How to start a expedite: Send your NVC expedite request in the form of an email to nvcexpedite@state.gov. An email request is specifically the only way to submit the NVC expedite request. Same thing for the beneficiary. Second Paragraph: Reason/s for the expedite State the reason why your case needs to be expedited. Be specific. The more you can demonstrate the hardship (mental, financial, health wise) on the petitioner the better. Also include attachments of Proof Now plead your case. Asking for their approval for your request. Now is time to really use this COVID to your advantage. You might be supporting two households that’s financial hardship. You may be depressed now seeing doctor or therapist get a letter stating that.

Ghana embassy interviews
dwheels76 replied to Lojoy's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
For IR1/CR1 still in May 2020. Haven't seen any IL's for about 2 months now. -
No that's not a fact you send it all together and in one packet. Just remember the right fees for the two packets. You do have the UI-765 and I-131 also correct. And as for the J1 expiring you are adjusting status married to a US Citizen so if there is any overstay it is forgiven. But still file as soon as you can. Here's the link to look up where to seen your packet. https://www.uscis.gov/forms/all-forms/direct-filing-addresses-for-form-i-485-application-to-register-permanent-residence-or-adjust-status

dwheels76 replied to InpatientSpouse's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
I was addressing what you said you needed for interview. Copy of Petitioners biopage is not needed. Everything uploaded at NVC you bring originals of beneficiaries documents copies of financials from petitioner. Updated evidence if desired. -
NVC: Help me please
dwheels76 replied to InpatientSpouse's topic in National Visa Center (Dept of State)
all u need is copies of i864 and your tax transcripts to be prepared. Your passport biopage is not needed at all. Copy of ur previous divorces I would have also and any updated evidence since filing your petition for interview. -
This is new territory for us all. I know of many WOM done but for long AP and denials. You are the first I have seen actually filed to get an interview. I am surprised it's taking so long but that's because they are fighting you. Normally the body of government you are suing just gives in and within 60 days things move. You are in court in the hands of the legal system which now there is no time line so no way to advise when and how. Sorry. wishing you the best.
