My dad has been DQ’ed since January of 2023 but hasn’t gotten any interview date. Does anyone have any information regarding interview schedule in Lagos consulate. Your insight would be highly appreciated.
You see the dates getting DQ's you still have a wait maybe FEB or March next year.

Today (30th) all the way up to June 28th, 2022 DQ. For IR5 also that date.

Hello, I have mailed out my K1 application on Mar, then I have received the text confirmation on Apr 2, said my case was received and also provide my Receipt number , check has been deposited on Apr 4.
However, I am still not received Form I-797C by the mail until now. Anything I can do now?
Case Was Received
On March 29, 2023, we received your Form I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e), Receipt Number ____________, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you have any questions
Just go to USCIS and fill out request to resend your receipt.

Also just know Ghana is a huge backlog. There's a 2 year wait for interviews. Add in processing at USCIS. Your Aunt is looking at 3 to 4 years to get to US once petition is filed.

Hi everyone,
After a year long wait we had our I129f visa approved in March 2023, but after inquiring with the NVC about a case update, I received the following email yesterday:
Due to COVID-19 concerns, the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General in [CASABLANCA, MOROCCO] suspended routine visa services. The National Visa Center will not forward K1/I-730 visa petitions to [CASABLANCA, MOROCCO] until they resume routine visa services. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate General will resume visa services as soon as possible, but they cannot provide a specific date. For the most up-to-date information about the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General's operating status, please visit their website at https://usembassy.gov
Is the embassy not receiving visas? Is there absolutely nothing we can do at this point?
You said Visa approved. You mean your I-129F petition is approved. Now you are at NVC waiting to get your case# and start processing?

Islamabad is slammed. Just like for Immigration visas there's a 2 year wait. K1's are so rare there but you got a good 2 years before you even get a interview. If things don;t change. So really there's no issue.
But to answer your question no there's no extension by you of your NOA2.Also you aren't planning the Nikkah are you? If you do Nikkah, you are considered married and void your K1. And yes the embassy does check since those are registered. There has been a big problem with this and why K1's are so dare rare from Islamabad.

So I received a text with my receipt number, still nothing from uscis in the mail. Should I be concerned? It has been a month. I can check online and it says it was received.
Did you move and not update your address. How long ago did you submit application. Usually comes in 30 days.

Dear Family,
Can anyone advise who and when to file i-824.
Thank y'all.
When USCIS tells you to if you want your I-130 to be sent. If it's needed it will be instructed to do so in the approval of your I-130. Follow to join doesn't apply to IR/CR so it wouldn't be filed under that situation.

Somewhere in the questioning they didn't like the answer or how she acted. Ask her did the CO have a certain subject that he was fixated on. This next interview they might call you and do a stokes interview so be prepared. Many a interview have been lost due to interviewee not doing well.

Hi All,
I wanted to get some advice on which route to take regarding the I-864 document for IR-1 DCF filing.
The context is as follows:
Sponsor (USC) is going to Grad School in the US which is employer sponsored. The employer is also paying a $15000 stipend per year during this timeAssets are held in non-US account totally roughly 100,000 USD. This is currently in beneficiary's name due to taxation issues but can be moved into Sponsors account if needed
Sponsor parent is willing to act as a joint-sponsor and income more than meets minimum requirements
Our original plan was to just declare the stipend in the US income and then use assets for remaining requirements. This avoids bothering my in-law to be joint sponsor.
Now I'm thinking it might be better to file using only assets to avoid any confusion with the $15000 p/y stipend.
Our backup option would be to use Sponsors parent.
I have read a lot of stories about trying to make things easier for USC to approve, however given the above, I'm not sure which would qualify as "easier"?
Currently thinking of taking 3x forms with us to the interview (DCF so not submitting it online).
1. Using the stipend + assets2. Using just assets
3. Using assets + joint sponsor
I'm not sure if we are failing to consider anything with the above? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
#2 is your best bet since it needs to be 3 times the income needed. So if it's just you two that's 24,650 X 3 you need in bank.
#1 I wouldn't use stipend since it's not income and is not permanent.
#3 is not an option because if using a joint sponsor it matters not whats assets you have. You use a joint sponsor because you don't meet the guidelines. -

A sibling petition will take longer than 9 years.
LPR parent for unmarried child will take less time. I believe around 4 years total? Others more knowledgeable can correct me on that point.
You aren't getting this from the visa bulletin. How can sibling be 9 years when they are at 08APR07. How can LPR filing for adult child be 3 or 4 when they are in 22SEP15. And we don't even know their country which if he's from any of the 4 other country's add another 10 to 15 years to that.

My mothers consular processing is about to come through. She doesn’t really plan to reside full time in the US. She’s probably going to travel back and forth. How long does she have to stay in the US on her initial entry with consular processing?
There's no set time one has to stay when they first immigrate. Many people have to leave immediately for job obligations to fulfill and finish moving and packing in their country. She can turn around and leave on the next plane. Just as long as she stays in the US more than out her green card won't be in question.

Hello Visajourney family, I am asking for a friend who just received interview CR-1 letter in Nigeria who moved to new address, while the previous family address has not been changed at NVC.
Will a physical letter be sent to the previous address? Or what is current procedure? I heard that B1 interview letters are all digital, but this is a CR-1.
If so, what is best way to notify and make sure the new address is used.
Thank you in advance.
Nothing is sent in mail and address change for the beneficiary is no big deal. They are immigrating. Just leave it alone.

Also, do you know when someone that is DQ since June last year should be expecting his/her interview? Also, how can I follow up with the Nigeria embassy update in Lagos? Pls, any information will be of good help. Thanks
yesterday and today IL's went out up to April 12th 2022 DQ for IR/CR. So they are right at 12 to 13 months from DQ.

Ir1 don't have anything to do with k1. I have seen people that their k1 was denied and got their visa in cr1 or Ir1..
Moreover the CO didn't asked me anything about my k1. He was specifically interviewing me on my Ir1. After the interview he said my wife income is not enough to bring me over that she should send a joint sponsor. Your advice doesn't sound hope at all
Your denied K1 has everything to do with your now petition. Look at this from the eyes of a CO, Your K1 you said was denied because they didn't believe your relationship was real (probably lack of visits or they were short). Then you married 4 years ago married and she never came back. I am surprised the CO didn't request your wife to get there immediately to visit if you want t to be approved. I have seen this happen about 4 times in the last year in Lagos.
You are married married people are meeting in war zones. Married people don;t go 4 tears without seeing each other unless there are serious issues. Great they only asked about joint sponsor. But he also asked to see your chats from 2022 and 2023. He wasn't convinced you guys have communications of quality. You cam believe they are combing through that thoroughly word for word. I pray your joint sponsor is a strong income person.
And yes there's always hope. So just stay positive and be patient to hopefully hear good news soon. -

Why did NVC post over 500 cases submitted to the embassy or consulate in March and later change them to 300 plus, does this means they are making mistakes with the numbers and why are they not updating April? Also, someone waiting without having any idea when your interview will come up. Can anyone tell me the situation of the Consulate in Lagos if they're working at full capacity now? Thank you.
You do realize there are tons of people transferring their cases to embassies that have n backlog. I am in many groups where Nigerians are transferring it could be related to transfers I would think. I know of alot of different petitions that have transferred. This report you know are all embassies world wide you know. Every category everything The report really doesn't mean anything since it's not broken down by embassy.
They been a full capacity for quite some time and making great progress. You realize Lagos was 18 months wait from DQ for Interview letter just in November. Since November it is now 11 to 12 months since they are at about April 14, 2022 DQ as of last months May scheduling this is IR/CR category only I speak of. -
You don't need a long explanation of why you broke up. You need to show evidence you married in good faith. Show your co-mingling of your life together stop focusing on the date after separation you should have had plenty already created before then.
So many things you can attach. When you get divorce decree send that in. That's all you have to do. No explanation is required. All the other evidence I would hope you already included in your petition package. Most important evidence:1. Joint income tax filing2. Joint bank accounts (monthly statements since you open account).3. Joint anything else(gym membership, credit cards, etc)4. Insurance cards5. Drivers license or state ID showing same address6. pictures of trips together7. Wills, Trust together8. Lease/Rental agreement- Diane and Chris and OldUser

Benin, Cameroon, Sierra Leone they do not have backlog. Ghana is a 2 year wait for most F categories. As long as your PD is current you can transfer if you are a resident of that country.
