Does anyone know if the balikbayan privilege is affected by the new immigration bill that Passed the PI House? I couldn't find mention of BB anywhere.

I751 Extension

Hi All,

We submitted an I751 for my stepson back in 2020. We received a letter extending his stay 18 months as the process was taking a long time. However, the extension is due to expire in September and he is scheduled to visit the Philippines in October. Is there a way to request another extension or do I need to wait for immigration to send it to us the way the sent the first one?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Marry online and go for spouse visa or stick with K1 visa process?

We applied for K1 on December 2019 and got approved on June 2020. But it's still stuck at NVC ever since and no NVC number. It seems like the way Philippines is going the lockdown thing might continue longer we thought. Lockdown after lockdown. I noticed spouse visa are moving faster than K1. It makes me wonder is it better option to marry online and go for spouse visa? I heard about online marriage in Utah. We already met in person 3 times so we met that requirement. I'm not optimistic about Philippines and embassy opening for K1 anytime in 2022. I'm aware we have to start right back at beginning of the line if we go for spouse visa. But at that rate it might be faster to get spouse visa. Plus I heard having Filipino spouse increases the chance of entering the country. We are exploring all options here and trying to find a way to be together
