Hi Everyone,
I have a question. so last year the entire 2021 I do not have any SSN, but I did work and pay taxes to my home country. I moved to the US later the year 2021 and was still paying taxes at home. Now I have aSSN issued last March 2022. Does anyone know if paying separately should be done since technically I'm not employed here?

Thanks in advance

I am wondering if other k1 visa applicants are experiencing this issue as well. I was going to hold off saying something but I felt this should be addressed. My filipina fiancee in the Philippines had her k1 visa interview back in April 7th. She was told that she had passed the interview but she needed to get an updated nbi and police clearance and submit them with her passport, which she did. She has not heard anything since then. As a matter of fact she doesn't even know that I'm asking about this on here and I haven't told her so she won't get upset. I have been checking her visa status on the ceac website and the status has been saying refused. I have done some research on this and it used to say administrative processing but I heard they stopped doing that. I have also read that the applicant should not panic or be concerned and the status would change to issu d after the documents requested had been approved. I am assuming that others are going through this as well and I am wondering if anyone has been changed to issued after the status had said refused. I am thinking that this is causing a lot of confusion and cencern. But it hasn't been 2 weeks yet. I am hoping to hear from anyone else who is going through this or recently has been through it.

AOS and FBI Background Check

Firstly, thanks to everyone who respond in this forum. I have learned SO MUCH and could not have got to this point without this forum's guidance. THANK YOU!

My fiancee now has her K-1 interview appointment and we are starting to prepare for the last few steps of this process. She is telling me that I need to write an AOS letter and have it apostilled as well as getting an FBI background fingerprint document. I can't find these requirements in any of the official document requests, but I also know that sometimes the fates of would-be airplane passengers can be in the hands of an immigration officer that wants to see additional documents.

Should I work on obtaining these documents or is she getting bad advice from her FB forums?

Are all I-129F applicants required to sign up here in your website and submit their timeline information? If not, is it more than 50% of worldwide applicants? Lets just concentrate for Philippines. If you compare from your timeline the number in the total record column and number of people signed up for a particular month, you can pretty much predict on how many people has applied correct? What is your guestimate VJ oracles?

I received an email from your website telling me a bold prediction about my fiancee k1 visa interview . I dont know if I should thank you. Yeah! I get it. During peacetime, process takes just a few months. But during war time, process takes a lot longer. It make sense.

Now its over. We need to find out if they have plans about their interview process. I think having personal interviews and you add with a reduced staff causing this backlog to piled up. I suggest they should try an online interview like zoom meeting. Everyone is using zoom nowadays. I ve used it several times now. My doctor used it with me for his diagnosis. And I was charged the same amount without leaving his house.

Lets focus on their backlog issue. Give us news on how Manila/US is doing about this K1 awaiting interview backlog.

PH vs US Marriage/ CR1 vs K1

Ok the more I read the more options are thrown in my face and I want to know which would be the best route. Obviously the time factor is something nobody can predict but we want to be together as soon as we can. Here is the info...

Me - US Citizen (Divorced) living in Northern Idaho

Her - Philippine Citizen (Widow)

Trip planned for 9/12/2022 - 10/05/2022

When I started researching this I thought the K1 was the way to go but I am seeing a lot of people mention the CR1 being a better option. I get the not having to wait to work, no change in status, cheaper, etc with the CR1 but is the time really going to happen as quick? It seems to me from what I have read the K1 can be faster in as little as 1 year (saw a timeline at the beginning of 2020 that was done in a year) but the CR1 process is a longer process and could last up to 2-3 years (or am I off on that?). I hear the Manila consulate is really backed up for visa interviews so it can take extra time there, an interview is needed for the CR1 as well correct?

With the CR1 you have 2 options it seems, getting married in the Philippines or doing the Utah County zoom marriage. I realize I cannot start the CR1 process until after our meeting. I am good with either option but is there an advantage to a US versus Philippine marriage? Is a Philippines marriage held is good regards with the USCIS? Is there advantages to a US vs PH marriage?

I think I have asked all the questions I have as I have stared at this post for the last 30 mins... Thanks in advance for any help.
