Good day, I would like to know what would be the good choice between the two? my Mom will be the intending joint sponsor since i do not meet the income requirement. she is a us citizen long time ago. we live in the same household. Dad did not work due to health issues so they do the married filling jointly. I did check the poverty guidelines and she is qualified for the sponsorship. Thank you in advance,.

Hey all, I recently logged in to see if the estimated processing time for my wife's visa has changed since it's a new month (I haven't checked it in a while), and I see under the processing time, it has changed to "Your case is taking longer than expected to process. You do not need to take any action at this time." I've read a number of posts in VJ forums about this, but I've not seen a post with any outcome; the ones I read just seem to fizzle out. Has anyone experienced this with an outcome who might chime in? I'm not overly concerned. May and I are prepared for a long wait, and I'll just keep going to visit when I can as we work our way through the process. I just thought perhaps by 12 months from NOA 1 we might be getting into territory of NOA 2, and VJ still estimates sometime in July (USCIS jumped from 3 months to 5 months about a month ago). Anyway, any thoughts are appreciated. Warmest wishes, all.

This question relates to a nurse we may hire. They are Nigeria citizens but currently work in Saudi Arabia as a nurse. We are currently hiring overseas nurses to come to the US and work. We are applying for green cards for the nurse and any immediate family members and some have recently received an approved I-140. However, it appears that the only way to get a Nigerian police clearance is to physically travel back to Nigeria and get this. It appears they cannot get this from the Nigerian Embassy in Saudi Arabia despite being a resident of Saudi Arabia. Does anyone know if this is true and that Nigerians must travel home for this police clearance? Thank you.

I130 and Dismissed crimes that fall under AWA |

Hello everyone, I am very concerned. I am one year into the I130 process for my foreign spouse. 12 years ago I was falsely charged with sex crimes involving a minor. The allegations were horrible. Prior to trial, all charges were dismissed. I did not take any type of deal, the prosecutor literally chose to dismiss the charges against me. I knew that the dismissed court case might be a problem, so I hired an Immigration Attorney to assist me with the petition. Everything has been going fine until I received a letter from USCIS stating I need to in for biometrics on Friday. My lawyer speculates this is due to my dismissed charges causing red flags at USCIS due to AWA. My lawyer said he does not have much experience dealing with AWA related NOIDS. I would like to think that USCIS will submit my fingerprints to FBI and see no convictions and let my petition proceed. I talked to another attorney today and was told basically, "charges were dismissed, no conviction. Nothing to worry about". Reading posts on this forum has made me choose to worry. I would also like to mention that I ran a background check on myself at my states crime lab, which indicated "no record". I was fingerprinted and the results of the fingerprint analysis and name search yielded no criminal history. Yet, much of what I see is that USCIS will send a NOID just due to the charges, not taking into consideration that all charges are dropped/dismissed. Am I overthinking this?? I have no problem obtaining copies of the dismissal or anything else that might be asked of me by USCIS.
